*As the matches were finally approved, the anxious crowd bellowed forth, shouting and screaming at the top of thier lungs. They had waited long enough, and now they were absolutely bloodthirsty. The raucus from the stand of the colliseum swelled to a defeaning roar as the two doors at either end of the pit-like arena opened simultaneously. Then high above, a small blur of blue and grey streaks down out of the sky like a bullet. About three hundred feet above the colliseum's pit, the small bullet flares out its swept back wings, and releases into the air a piercing cry which somehow manages to ring out over the sound of the crowd's screams. The tiny peregrine falcon dives down even further towards the pit before leveling out, and flying the full breadth of the arena so low to the ground it could have stretched out its talons and scraped the sandy floor of the arena. As the tiny bird of prey climbs back into the sky, and circles slowly around the arena, just above the rim of the pit, delicate white cherry blossom petals suddenly begin falling lazily from the sky, gradually filling the air, and littering the ground with sakura petals. As they begin landing on the ground, the tiny bird turns towards the southern entrance, and lets forht another piercing cry into the air as a figure enters the arena through it.
Through the gates enterd a tall lanky man with long waist length silverish white hair dressed in humble clothing astride an enourmous white tiger. The Majestic beast proudly wore a set of leaf green, swept back armor with intricate gold leaf rimming its edges, and the large flowery flour de lis of the wood elves (( insert elven name right here , sorry Im redoing my profile right now and hadn't named em yet >< )) embellished along the center of her curved, swept back breast plate, and matching shoulder pauldrons. To complete her armor, she also wore two pairs of patching anklets, a "ring-like" cyllinder near the tip of her tail, and a very ornate open-faced helmet. The elvish crafted armor was extreemly light and sturdy despite that it looked more ornamental than anything else. In traditional wood elf fashion, each piece had been engraved with a great many runes, and blessed to give its wearer an edge in combat.
Though his mount looked more suited to court than the battlefield, the man astride the enormous tiger was a diffrent story. The tattered, travel worn dark blue kimono he wore was caked in reddish brown mud, and splotched with dried blood. A wide brimmed Sakkat covered his head and vieled his eyes beneath its shadow. In stark contrast to his attire, the four katanas sitting on either side of his body in his jet black obi were like precious gems. On his right side sat a four foot long, graceful ivory white katana with intricate gold leaf splashed along the sheathe's leading and trailing edges, wrapping around its point. At the center of the sheathe, was embellished a charactoristic curled up dragon symbol that served to show the blade's creator. With its ornate dragon's head shaped pommel, and gold circlet hand guard, the artifact looked more like a piece of art than a weapon, and totally out of place in the practical rags its wielder wore. Resting beside it was another katana fashioned in the exact same way as the aforementioned blade. Much shorter than the ivory katana, this blade's multi faceted sheathe looked as if it had been crafted out of irrumerable crushed saphirres, even though its surface was as smooth to the touch as a normal sheathe. On his right side sat the Saphirre blade's sister sword. Almost identical in every single way save for that it seemed to be made of crushed rubies instead of saphirres, giving it a fiery crimson appearance. The fourth blade was much diffrent from the others. Draped in a raggedy moth eaten black cloth, it was almost completely concealed except for the tip of the jet black sheathe and the demonesque dragon's-head shaped gold hand guard. A dark cleaving aura clung to the blade, and even when completely covered and sheathed, it seemed to imminate an eerie self aware precence.*
tch.... time to begin, HIKARI!!!! *Arch lifted his head to the heavens as the tiny peregrine falcon dove down towards him to land delicately on her master's shoulder, so lightly that her talons didn't even him. Arch reached back behind him and retrieved a long pole-like object strapped across his mount's side that was draped in a thick brown cloth, and began unwrapping the long object as he awaited for his opponnent to enter the arena.*

The crowd and Arch are suddenly subjected to the blinding and deafening ordeal of a nearby lightning strike, and when the light fades the ground is completely unmarked where the bolt hit - except for the tall blond-haired woman standing in the exact center of the lightning's impact area where the charge was strongest.

Binatica The crowd and Arch are suddenly subjected to the blinding and deafening ordeal of a nearby lightning strike, and when the light fades the ground is completely unmarked where the bolt hit - except for the tall blond-haired woman standing in the exact center of the lightning's impact area where the charge was strongest. tch..... not YOU .. * Arch unflinchingly kept his eyes locked on her despite the lightening flash. * "Well, well well, seems I'll get the chance to kill earlier than I thought" * He spat as a cruel grin stretched across his face. Arch tugged the length of string tied around the knob-like end of the long pole-like object, and allowed the freed cloth to fall away from the object to the ground, revealing a long crimson Zanbato with intricate fiery gold leaf designs splashed around the polearm's shaft. At one end, a huge, crushing cruel curved blade in the fashion of a Guan Yu sword protruded out of an astistically crafted golden dragon's head with its mouth open. The ridges along the backside of the blade gavethe appearance that the blade was on fire. At the opposite end, was a jagged sereated spear with long crimson horse hair at the base of its hilt.
Arch tauntingly spun the polearm around over his head, and transferred it to his left hand, bringing the heavy curved blade down and level with the girl's chest*
I'd hoped I'd get the chance to fight you again, now I'll destroy you like the vermin you are *Arch sneered, his fiery eyes flaring as he clenched in anticipation. Arch bent his upper body forward slightly, and brought the shaft of the "Honor of Fury" around behind his back, holding the blade slightly farther towards the cruel curved blade, holding the zanbato perpendicular to the ground with his left hand, as he extended his right palm out in front of him towards his opponnent. Ko no Tsuki locked her emerald eyes upon the girl, and pulled back her lips, baring enourmous dagger-like cannines as she prepared to charge her. At Arch's imperceptible command, the enourmous beast launched herself towards the girl, charging at full speed in a large, sloping gait.*

?The resounding flap of a dark cloak disrupted even the fearsome battlecry of Arch as the combatant led the charge atop his great armored beast. Sand shifted beneath the weight of two heavy, black boots as a figure landed between the fighters, eyes like dual embers pinning themselves upon the incoming tiger in a challenging gaze. The garments enshrouding the mysterious man flew upward with the rattling of the chains binding his upper body, a brutal weapon freed from its holding place only for twin blades lined with teeth all their own to be leveled in both animal and mount's stead. This man steeled himself, not breaking position, should no retreat come in time even as he growled out a command in a ferocious and spittle-flinging tone.? "Stay that charge, boy! Stay that charge!" ?Should his words reach Arch's ears soon enough for the competitor to break off, the man would loosen the grip upon his odd, double-bladed weapon with both the metallic hand and the one of flesh and blood to go on with a simple explanation.? "No familiars or mounts are permitted in this tournament. I am afraid you've disqualified yourself."

In the stands the figure covered in the snow white robes stood at his massive height, over 7'3" tall, as he watched the match, then spoke in a deep, rumbling voice.
"...Seems this match was a rather simple one...Seems Mr. Arch should be adding a loss to that 'winning' streak." The figure chuckled, he loved to see acts of stupidity lead to the demise of the stupid.
"You are literate Arch, but Literacy=/=Skill. Just because you're literate does not make you skilled, and vice-versa. Perhaps you'd like a better fight...If so, meet me at the Stadium..." The figure continued, before a portal to tyhe abyss opened beside him and he stepped through it, as he and the portal vanished.

Tinanitico merely watches this whole exchange with a condescending look, though her concentration is visible in her eyes.

*Relieved that Arch's error had not cost him too dearly, Arch obediantly bowed his head, and shouted a clear crisp "Hai" towards Clash. Arch reached across his mount and fell lightly to the ground with his wooden sandals together. With a pat on the neck, he ushered the enroumous tiger back through the gates they'd entered through, and then turned back around to face Tinanitico with the cold expressionless face he carried into battle. Beneath the shadow of the wide brim of his sakkat, two demonesque crimson jewels pulsed once as Arch tracked her with his violent tumultous eyes. As his anticipation for battle steadily rose, brilliant crimson flames began to lick thier way out of his sockets and playing across the underside of his sakkat before he checked his attitude and clamped his eyes closed for a few seconds.*
"You will be the rust on my blade," He spat as Arch patted the jet black cloth-covered braces covering his upper arm, wrists, and back of the hand. Arch flourished his great Zanbato around over his head, the cruel curved blade perscribing three circles in the air above him before he brought it down to his right side, the jagged spear end leveled at the girl's chest, and the cruel curved blade pointed diagonally towards the ground behind him. Arch gripped the long shaft of the "Honor of Fury" below the curved blade in his right hand, and a closer to the middle at the opposite end with his left. Arch concentrated his chi, his lifeforce as he bent his legs slightly, and eased into his fighting stance. After a few seconds, it was as if his entire body had come into alignment.*
alriiiight, lets do this * he sneered as a cruel grin stretched across his face *

The blond-haired woman lets only the smallest of smiles cross her calm expression, before holding her right hand out and slowly making a fist. Suddenly, without any flash or fanfare, there's a hammer in her hand. Judging from the handle length it appears to be designed to be used one-handed, and the head and shaft APPEAR to be stone and wood respectively - however, in actuality, they're strong metal. Either way, even for a one-handed hammer, it looks pretty heavy. Tinanitico must be stronger than she looks to hold it as easily as she does, and this notion is only verified when a plume of yellow energy emerges from the non-business end of the handle, about 1.5 feet long. She holds the hammer ready, her left hand also proceeding to emit a yellow glow as she holds it guardedly in front of herself.

Tinanitico simply shifts her stance to allow better footing, and thrusts her glowing left hand forward, then rushes forward herself. The hand thrust creates a straight blast of wind, which clashes with the turbulence of Arch's Air Cutter, disrupting the chaotic storm and creating a calm zone where the two air currents collide, allowing her to get through unharmed. Without stopping, she rushes straight for Arch, holding the hammer ready in her right hand while pulling her left hand back defensively.

As soon as the wind broke, Arch was already there with his crimson Zanbato held far back in preperation to strike. Using the air mass as cover and a diversion, He'd usedthe wind walker technique to close the distance in mere split seconds as Tinantico dealt with the attack, and the spinning sands blinded her to him. This would leave her unprepared for his followup attack no matter her reflexes.
Arch struck out in a full bodied strike wiht the heavy blade of the "honor of fury" aimed up from her right hip up across her chest. Using steady footwork, he subtely spun around to his right through the strike using his body to make it difficult to estimate his follow up.*

Arch overestimated the degree to which the blown sand would impair Tinanitico's senses; she'd been through worse, and survived through worse. Moreover, he'd vastly underestimated her preparedness; she'd rushed him to draw out his counterattack, not to attack him herself. She had even been holding her weapon in the zone he was most likely to attack in as she charged. And her intuition was right on the mark. As the blade whips toward her hip, she turns the hammer to place the shaft in the path of Arch's blade and manages to get her other hand on the shaft so that the blade will strike between her hands just in the nick of time.
The fact still remains, however, that she'd been running. It had been all she could do to position her hands in time; she had had no time to position her feet properly as well and thus is unable to completely block the weighty blade. She isn't cut, and the hammer shaft is barely scratched, but she's sent stumbling away from Arch. Not much of a problem, however, as she should recover before he can get another hit in with either blade of that huge sword, especially as she's now out of his immediate range and he now has to move in to strike her again.
