Kiuma whinced as she felt a small bone snap under her paw. A small sigh escaped her as bright crimson eyes looked out over a place she'd never explored in her cubhood wanderings. Truly, she'd been afraid to explore such a dark, forboding place... Though she'd never admit it. Bones... there were bones everywhere, towering against the bare rocks and ground. This place gave her such a chill... her hackles rising down her spine.
Suddenly, she glanced around for her companion, searching for that comfortingly solid prescence and bright while & gold coat. His green eye would be a welcome spot of color in this dark place.

Large white paws fell heavy on hard barren earth, dust stirred in his wake with every step. This place was cold and dark, the stench of death hung heavy in the air. Green gaze scanned their surroundings, his ears flicking for any sound amoung the lifeless bones.
Most creatures would find this place foreboding, it was natural for mortals to fear death. The air was heavy with the darkness, it could lower a proud lions stance and dull the brightest of coats. But Tanaka was not a normal lion, he revealled in death and destruction as a demon from the depths of hell.
"It's rather morbid isn't it."

((I uh...couldn't resist ^^ wink )
Mtafutaj'duhushi shook the beginning of his mane out of his dark green eyes. His mother had left him. His weak father had let his sister be taken and Amleth was nowhere to be found. A sigh left his maw as he continued about. His purple pelt shone in the dim glow of the graveyard. There was never any true light that broke through the gloomy aura around the lifeless area except for the confused rays that decided to bounce of one of the sun-bleached skulls. The growing male conitued on his way. The twists and turns of the bones were memorized since nothing ever changed in the maze of death he called home save when bones began to flake and crumble. His tail flicked in annoyance as a wayward tusk suddenly came in to view. Duhushi hung his head as he listened to th eerie silence. No one was to be heard.
What has come of my family?...
Another sigh escaped his throat as he sat on the heavy spine of what had been a formidible elephant. His large paw rested on ahigh prod of bone. The cub liked to extend his newly sharpened clawson the brittle surface of the long dead creatures. A toothy grin pulled his lips back as his claws made hard scratches in the bones seeming them glow whiter as hescaped of the top layer. Duhushi often wondered what it would be like to do this to a real elephant. What would happen if his claws caught it's back like this while it's heart was still pumping.
His thoughts were interupted by bones snapping. A startled gap left him as he slid down to the base of the massive skull. He crawled slowly through it's empty head, the srtuctures within almost like stairs until he came to a stop at one of it's eyes. He looked bewildered at the pair and crouched down hoping that the shadows would hide his vibrant pelt.

The red coated lioness chuckled a tad nervously, her tail flicking. "It is indeed... Its always been taboo to come here, in my Pride. I think we should move quickly and get through it. There is nothing here but bones, nasty hyenas, and more bones." Suiting actions to words, she padded forward quickly, her eyes scanning the looming bones.
Dust rose in little puffs under her own paws, darkening the creamy tips to a bland gray that slowly moved up her legs. A scraping to the side caught her soft, rounded ears and she froze, suddenly wary. Her eyes flicked to her companion, silently asking if he'd heard it too.

Amleth had been looking for her friend all day! Usually he'd come by her den at some point, but she must have missed him... she'd gotten up rather early to try to scrounge up a mouse or two. Now the lanky juvenile padding lightly through the elephant graveyard, ears perked forward, tail swaying. She was in a fairly good mood today.
Leaping gracefully onto a thighbone, the hyena-marked lion looked around. "Duhuuuushiiiiii!" She called out, not too loudly, but just loudly enough for any creatures in her immeadiate vicinity to hear her. When there was no response, she lept down again, trotting towards what she thought were voices. She slunk carefully around a skull, peering out from behind it. "Duhushi? Is that you?"
Catching sight of the large, intimidating looking lion and his sleek red counterpart, Amleth flattened herself to the dirt. Hopefully they wouldn't want to hurt her!

The white lion's posture spoke that he had indead heard. He stood paused in midstep, dark ears full upright facing the direction the sound had come from. His nose twitched, searching out the scent amoung the air of death in the graveyard, his gaze narrowed as he searched for the source.
There was no trace of fear or concern in the large lion, instead there was a threat in his pose, one that warned anyone who dared cross his path to think twice about their actions. This lion was not to be triffled with, and it would be foolish to do so.
Another sound caught his ears and his head turned quickly toward the sound, eyes narrowing on the small dark form that had appeared there. It blended in to the surroundings well, but not well enough to avoid the green eye of the demon.

((Aaaaah, can't resist xd ))
Treading carefully as he had grown up doing amid the bones, a dark form slid through the shadows of bones and rock. Stopping in his pacings along the border between hyena and lion territory, Toshiro peeked out, green eyes narrowing. A large pale intruder, and a red companion... The lioness reminded him of Uumi, though he'd not seen the older lion in so very long. Not that it mattered, Toshiro saw little of others as it stood. Stopping carefully so as to blend in, he watched the other two lions, tail flicking lightly.

Duhushi heard his name be called even in his posistion. Amleth! She was so stupid to call his name when something was wrong. His mane stood on end when he saw the male tun his head towards her. His tail flicked as he thought of what to do. The teen knew that she was no longer fragile and delicate but he couldn't let her be found if he couldn't help her.
I have to keep them away from her...
He gulped as his mind comprehened what he was going to do. In a great lunge Duhushi landed on the hard flat plain of it's sinus. Showing himself in his true colors. The dust had shaken from his coat and the bright purple below shone brightly even in the dark gloom.
"What do you want here?"

The red lioness hissed in suprise as what seemed to be a hyena suddenly rounded from behind a skill, quailing at the sight of the pair. Head lowering as her hackles rose once more, the lioness couldn't stop from taking a threatening step towards the 'hyena'. And then, of all things... A cub, standing proud and defiant on a pile of bones, challenging them. Sweet ancestors.... was the world populated solely by cubs?
"None of your buisness, fluffball. And I highly suggest you run back to your mommy before you get hurt. There is a hyena here, and if there is one, there are more. This vile things travel in packs, after all." Kiuma stalked closer to the source of her intense focus, suddenly making up her mind. The world would thank her for one less disgusting hyena on its face.

Amleth's ears pinned to her skull as she let out a whine, her small body beginning to shake as Kiuma approached her. "I-I'm not a h-h-yena!" She said shrilly, trying to make herself as small as possible. "I'm a lion! I am! Ask him!" She pointed a dark paw at Duhushi, crimson gaze flicking from her friend back to the sleek red huntress. She gulped. It was likely that the lioness could kill her with the swipe of her paw.
"I'm a l-lion...like you," she added tentatively, though the personalities of the two females couldn't be more different. She looked up pleadingly. "Pleasedon'thurtme?"

The great lion's ears flicked at the defiant voice, his head casually turned enough to see the small purple form, still watching the other from the corner of his green eye. Great, another cub, why was it everywhere they went all they ran into was cubs.
"Sacrificing yourself for another, how very noble."
His voice was a low growl, malicious, dripping with sarcasm, he was unimpressed. His eyes narrowed, a malevolent glare cast at the purple creature. It seemed a very independent creature for one so small, but had he ever known real fear...the white lion would have to correct that.

Duhushi watched in horror as the female stepped closer to Amleth. He couldn't let anything happen to the hyena colored female. A growl rose in his throat even though he was genuinely afraid. Purple tail lashing his maw finally open though thankfully his growl was still supressed.
"That is no hyena. She is infact a lion like us."
His voice was filled with arrogance as he began a slow slide down the frontal plain of the skull. He still had to watch his paw. It was irritated whenever he jumped or ran much too fast. When his plush paws came to the ground dust rose around them but he had done it mny times before. His claws extended as he walked to put himself between Amleth and the visitors. His bravado would probbly kill him one day. Duhushi could easly slip between the bones and quickly escape but knew that Amleth couldn't. She didn't know the area enough. His limbs visibly shaking he stepped closer.
"We don't want any trouble. If you're only here to insult us then you should just move on."

So... it seems she'd been mistaken. Kiuma squinted and studied the little odd creature carefully, making note of the round ears and tufted tail, the feline cast of the features. It seems the 'hyena' really was a lion cub after all.
When the purple one put himself between her and the other, Kiuma lifted one eye brow, and a twisted smirk came onto her face. Drawing herself up to her formidable adult height, she paced closer with her head held high. "You are either very bold or very foolish, furball, to stand up to me. I could knock you unconcious with one blow of my paw, while my companion could easily kill you with the same action. Do you really think you could stand between us, if I really ment to kill your companion? What makes you put yourself into possible danger like this?"

Amleth's ears flicked forward slightly as she saw the red lioness turn. Whew! At least they knew she wasn't a hyena. The greyish cub raised herself off the ground and into a still-wary sort of hunched sitting position, crimson eyes flicking nervously from the larger lions to her friend. Why was he talking to them like that?! D: They looked perfectly capable of snapping his neck!
"D...Duhushi.." She said hesitantly, looking from the purple cub to Kiuma and back. Why on earth was he acting like this? She knew he could be arrogant with her, but that was different...she was his age, and they were friends. But to talk to two huge, strong lions like he was was practically suicide! As he came to stand in front of her, she slunk forward and tugged urgently on his ear, fastening her tiny fangs gently. "Duhushi...c'mon... don't make them mad..." She urged softly, still shaking a bit and looking very nervous.

Well, the cub had a spine, how very intriguing. An evil smirk spread across the lion's maw, dark talons extending to contrast sharping with white paws even in the dim light. Tanaka stepped foward toward the two cubs, his head lowered to eye level looming directly before them, his fangs bared in a menacing snarl.
"It's too late for that boy, you've already found trouble."
The graveyard seemed darker if that was possible, the scent of blood and death heavy in the air as if hell itself was responding the white demon. If one didn't know better they might expect the ground to bleed as great talons flexed to cut into the earth beneath his paws.
