Alighting with difficulty on the uppermost row of chainlink fencing, Galatea clung with fingers and toes to the metal as she surveyed the back yard of Ice Queen's house. She bit down on her lower lip in thought. Perhaps she should have sent word beforehand. But it was a spur of the moment visit. She had been literally in the neighborhood when she hung the abrupt left to take her to the home of Soho, Silva, and Mr. Aleric. Firstly, she needed to know when the next training session was. Secondly, she wanted to ask Silva if he might have any ideas about smoothing the Captain's ruffled feathers; he had never properly met the woman but Galatea could not help but think of them in the same practical, brave, strong manner.
Then there was the strange feeling she got in her stomach when she was with Hadrian lately. She had a feeling that that was something she had better ask Soho about. The other juvenile was so much more open and emotional and knew just about -everything- about expressing oneself.
Clambering up higher to balance precariously on a bit of metal, the little blood feien spotted a strange contraption set up in the back. Water shimmered within. Curious, she pushed herself from the fence and fluttered closer warily.

It was Aleric's turn on the surf board. And as usual he fell off as soon as he hit a high enough wave, wiping out. But this time he was close enough to the shore that it merely pulled him up on the sand. "I think..." He said as he coughed up water. "That I'm getting better."
Silva sat on the beach, only glancing over briefly as Gala reached his territory. "Try it again, old man." He said. "You gonna stand there all day, darlin?" He called over to Gala.

"Me?" Galatea somehow managed to stand straighter in the air and smiled faintly. "No, sir. I just didn't want to interrupt." That said, she obediently fluttered closer and landed lightly nearby. Then she gave her customary little bows. "Mr. Aleric, Silva. How are you today?"

"Wet." Aleric replied with a teasing smile as he stood. He shoved his wet hair out of his face and bowed politely to the juvenile. "You're looking quite well this day, Miss Galatea."
"Soho's not here, darlin. You're stuck with us old guys." Silva said as he stood and stretched his arms over his head. "You swim?"

"I don't know. I've never really tried." Galatea approached the edge of the water and dipped a toe in experimentally. "Not properly, I suppose. The Captain has filled the sink for me and I have floated within." Looking up, she gave Silva a polite little smile. "I hope Soho is having fun somewhere. I miss her," she replied. "I came to see you as well, though."

"If you're not comfortable with swimming you can play in the waves." Aleric said as he propped the board in the sand. "Soho enjoys doing that."
"Oh?" Silva asked. "What can I do you for, darlin?" He asked as he crossed over to the water and leaned against the board.

"I was wondering when our next training session would be." Galatea knew it was more than slightly rude not to look at Silva when talking to him but she could not help but study the sand as she delicately padded out onto it. Reaching the edge of the water, she squatted easily and dipped her fingers in it. It was cool to the touch, contrasting sharply with the warm sun on her shoulders. "And I wanted to talk to someone about some other things, "she ventured shyly.

"Things have been a little confusing lately..." Silva said as he chewed thoughtfully on his toothpick. "Maybe In a week or two?" He asked, glancing over at Aleric.
"I believe we're going on a trip to the lake this weekend." Aleric said in agreement. "But we'll see. And send out notes when it's the best time?"
"Sure. You can do that." Silva agreed. Then he looked at Gala. "You wanna ask me the next question or do you want to learn to swim first?"

"Swim, please." The very fact that she leapt at the alternative offer instead of asking her next questions probably gave more of a clue than anything else. She stood up and linked her hands behind her back, lifted her chin, and smiled again. "If you don't mind."

"Alright Darlin." Silva said as he stepped into the water. "First you have to get in. And realize that unless you're a water feien, you can't breathe under water. So don't try." He started backing into the waves, expecting her to follow.
Aleric took the opportunity to sit down on the sand and watch. It always amused him to see Silva acting fatherly.

"Yes, sir." Immediately, Galatea unlocked her hands and stepped out into the water. A handful of steps quickly had her in to her knees and she gave a tiny shiver before suddenly squatting again to wet the rest of her body. The end of her ponytail wicked up some water and flopped heavy between her shoulderblades when she stood once more. "There," she murmured. "Better." Refocusing on Silva, she tilted her head. "I read somewhere that the ocean and blood are similiar. I'm sure it was a metaphor of some sort but it was interesting. And, no, I will not try to breathe underwater."

"I figured you were a smart one." Silva drawled. "Now come a little farther, till your feet are barely touching the ground." He said ask he kept backing up. The waves tugged at him, but he was so used to it that he didn't notice. Soon he was up to his upper thighs.

Galatea obeyed without any hesitation, padding quickly out to where Silva stood. As she felt her body lighten, her pink eyes went round and she gasped a bit. Then she again gave her little lop-sided smile and continued on until she stood on her tip-toes, her body moving slightly back and forth at the mercy of the waves. "Like this?"

"Exactly. Now start kicking your legs a bit underneath you. It should start you floating." He replied, ready to grab her at any moment. He just didn't look it, fingering his toothpick casually as he stood there.

She looked slightly dubious for a moment and appeared to want to say something but, in the end, Galatea's hero worship of the older feien won out and she obeyed, kicking her feet in gentle, rhythmic movments. Or maybe not quite. "I have floated before," she said quietly. "Swimming is built around that?"
