The year is 1207156. (give or take) Magic and machines have actually merged, (contrary to popular belief that there would be a huge war) and have replaced most humanoids/lifeforms. There isn't many animals left, although there are some. A lot of prehistoric beasts have been ressurected (like mosquitos with 30-feet wingspans) in order to carry cargo. They've been tamed by mind-controlling magic, otherwise they would try to eat everything.

Living things still exist, although most 'life' that we know of has been completely replaced with both magic and technlogy. Humans are still around, but they're not in control anymore. The machines are just smarter, stronger, and faster than them. There is still the eternal problem of evil however, but most illnesses have been eradicated.

This has made human life not as diverse of course, biologically speaking. However, the world is more liberal than previous times and to make up for this shortcomings certain racial features can be artifically/magically manufactured, so other races/cultures won't be forgotten. However, there is a more 'universal' practice with humans simply because there's not enough of them anymore to argue about a lot of things!

The world is strange and vast, and the territory shows this. There's lots of twisting slides and tunnels that seem to go nowhere and be pointless, but make perfect sense to the robots. There are cities where it's eternally light for 24 hours and eternally dark for 24 hours. It's all very fascinating.

Class powers have been magnified ten-fold. A White Mage-a-tron (LOL) won't just repair one unit at a time, but can miracously burst heal everybody in a 5-mile radius. But also, damage classes have been improved as well to make up for it. Human powers exist, but are nowhere near as great as the robots. Their bodies just can't handle the kind of raw power that a robots could. A HUMAN being able to burst heal everybody ina 5-mile radius would cause it to explode into nothingness.

The 'bad guys' of FF120+ are Nightmares themselves! The machines have found a way to extract and corporaelize human nightmares into actual beings, a psychology experiment gone horrible wrong. The Nightmares are extremely powerful, although there's not that many of them since the robots were of course intelligent enough to stop the experiment.

The characters of this story are...
PostPosted: Tue Jun 06, 2006 1:26 pm

Jane Weston, age 27. She's a professor at Ranul University. Her class is known as a 'Purple Mage' and she can heal, use black magic and can also copy abilities from enemies. Basically a Red Mage/Blue Mage hybred. Since she's a Jack of all Trade type, she doesn't have a lot of raw power as the pure classes, but uses her intellect to make up for this.

Jane is working on a way to copy the abilities and powers of Nightmares, without becoming corrupt and evil herself. She's intelligent, always wears glasses. Kind of mousy, but also pretty tall. She's always gets lost in her experiments and inventions. She's a harsh grader, has a hard time interacting with her students on an emotional level like a lot of college professors (somethings NEVER change)...but she is a honest, decent person despite everything.

She's fond of wearing white robes that shimmer, so people think she's a White Mage at first glance even though she isn't. She insists that the robe is a good contrast to her jet black hair.

Her favorite mentor and fellow professor is WM-X105726 or what she affectionally calls 'Whitie'. (whom I will also be playing) He's a typical White Mage-a-tron with the kind of awe-inspiring powers to prove it.

(I'm thinking the main RP will take place in college)

(I deleted what I had before... and now I have this. Are Humans and Mechas the only things there, or are there any other races?)

Let's try something different... I've never understood why Dark Knights had to be evil.... but if this is a problem, I'll change it.

Angie Stone (sorry guys, half my names come from whatever song I'm currently listening to), mid thirties, Dark Knight.

Has short black hair, badly cut, and blue eyes. Usually wears a long jacket, with all sorts of random things hidden in the pockets. Wears it even in the summer, since she hates purses, and can't fit anything into her own pockets. Stupid female pants...

Angela came to the college a few years ago and currently teaches philosophy and occasionally substitutes for theology. Not much is known about her before she came to the college, although her abilities reveal her class. Leaves if anyone directly addresses it.

Spends a great deal of time trying to prove herself to others, and possibly herself. Volunteers at hospitals and local soup kitchens, also regularly attends church. Angie is a bit of a loner, often hiding in libraries or museums, although she has made a few friends with the staff.

Her solitude is somewhat helped by the fact that she refuses to renounce her class, and is even seen practicing in the gymnasium.

Angelic: Hmm there can be other races, I think. (but not a lot...a lot of races would have gotten killed or assimilated into one 'master race' (aka human). So just be whatever you want. =)

Dema: That sounds great! Character approved. =)

Remus Feruul
Age 19
Class: Mime/Red Mage

This Prodigy has almost completly mastered both schools of Magic. Being younger than most of his students his mastery of Mimery is useful incase one of his students decides to try and show him up with their own abilities. This has earned him great respect throughout the school with both teachers and students alike. His life's ambition is to dicover exactly where the mecha started and why.

When his genious was discovered at a young age when he beat 10 mecha in-a-row in eches(Like chess now except on three levels of boards). This boy was wisked away to his own higher education. Having studied with the Machines, he has more experience battling them than most other scholars. His mime class also helped him when ever he battled giving him his opponents powers for a short time. Because of his mime class he has remarkably high stamina and endurance and can take a hit of freezaga, firaga, or thundaga, with minimal damage however his strength, evasion, and speed are low.

He teaches History and Zoology. He is an expert on endangered and extict species.

On a more personal note Remus loves animals especially wolves having sucessfully domesticated 2 of them he takes them with him wherever he goes. His wolves names are Keisha, and Heidi (Note: Keisha was the last dog i had, she died crying and Heidi is my idiot puppy now heart )

(Since human powers have dwindled and are far from Mecha?s, I thought I?d explain how my character?s class weakened... Since it?s not the class, but the beings she summons.)

Felicia Bliss can only summon the lesser deities of Gaia, as all summoners in these times can. All of the greater powers had gone into hiding, and by coming into this world create such a disturbance that the Mecha could feel it all around the world, and there would be unquenchable fury. Summoning had become a rare art due to its power, and few dared to practice it, for it wasn't the power of the summoner, but whom they were summoning. She doesn't care though, for she?s arrogant and fears nothing in particular, if you excuse spiders. Even mecha?s that resemble spiders make her edgy, and depending on her previous mood she will either squash or squeak. Still, her spiritual energy is barely strong enough to summon the more powerful of the lesser deities, and to summon anything of great power she would need a great amount of time for preparation, and it would be likely that she couldn't control it.

She's a student at the school, a freshman without a care in the world, not even grades, for she was exceptionally smart, having read many pieces of literature, whether fiction or fact. She excels well in History, English and Mathematics, but seem to whither away mean it comes to science classes and anything physical, for she was far from a physical girl. With only a glance some one could tell she was frail, and her personality did not befit her body, for it would be hard to tell that she could back up all the smack she talked.

Her favorite color is anything dark, specifically Indigo and black. She's naturally a distant person, though she?s tries to get along with others. Her hair is long and indigo, her eyes bright green, beautiful pale skin, and she's about 5'8".

(Okay everything sounds great so far! We seem to have more teachers than students but that's okay, I always wanted to hear things from the teacher's perspective more)

I'll start.. (If anybody else wants to jump in just let me know)

Jane observed her students as she entered the classroom. A bunch of psychology books were scattered all over her desk. She frowned a bit when she saw Felicia, lost in her own little world as usual. She looked about half-asleep and ready to fall over.

"Felicia. Yoohoo." She whistled loudly with her fingers. "You're not in High School anymore so pay attention." She could be a bit bitchy with the girl, and she realized this, but it was like she had so much potential and it was just going to waste.

"I want you all to buckle up and get ready because today, we are going to face our fears." Jane grinned wickedly as she threw a suitcase on the desk and clicked it open with almost superhuman accuracy. She then took out some 'exacto lasers' and passed them out to all her pupils.

Teaching psychology was not an easy thing to do, and it was much more....interactive than it was in previous times. She half-smiled, they had no idea what she was going to have them do.

Jane leaned on her desk and folded her arms and began her lecture. "The Paragons of Psychology believed that in order to achieve supreme happiness, we have to believe in a power, magical or otherwise, that's greater than ourselves. We become strong, ironically so, by admitting our own weaknesses and doubts. They will always be here, and only by accepting them can we grow."

There was a silence in the room, she seemed to have grasped her student's interest for the time being. Good. But what was she about to say next would surely blow their mind. "I want you all to kill yourselves with that laser. I want you to trust me, that I have your best interests in heart, that I can and will revive you. I want you to learn how to put your survival in other people's hands. It's what separates us from the animals."

She saw most of the students lose color in their faces, but she thought that was a very good sign in her own weird way.

"Maslow's hierachy of needs didn't end with self-actualization like what was previously thought, but more of a self-alturism. That's how heroes are made...can you care for somebody you don't even know all that well, can you trust them with your life, or even save them yourself? That is the test. If you can't do this for me, than I have nothing to teach you for the rest of the year." She looked directly in Felicia's eyes when she said that.

"No, she's not," Angie said, sweeping into the room. She was followed by several rather squeamish looking students, all looking very lost and very confused.

"I hope you don't mind Professor Weston," Angie said, smiling a bit, "if I and my students watch. I heard about this and thought it might be an excellent lesson for my pupils. It goes along so well with what we're learning, and I am without spiffy lasers to help me."

Her eyes met Jane's comfortably; she had no real fear of Weston kicking her out. The purple mage was one of her closest friends. The professor's open experiments with Nightmares had made her considerably more open minded, and Angie felt the woman understood her.

"Hmm, what's going on in here?" asked Remus as he perused the different classrooms in his off time. "Looks like Prof. Weston's having a party. I'm just going to try and slip in unnoticed" Remus enters the room silently as a ninja, and he quickly sits in one of the back desks waiting to see exactly what Prof. Weston is going to do.

Jane smiled at the two professors as they stood beside her. "As you can see, this is a big deal here at Ranul University, and the activity will count for more than one half of your grade."

A dead silence followed afterwards as all the students kept staring at her.

"Well, what are you waiting for?" She spoke, purposefully ignoring Felicia's questions. She pushed it aside to nothing more than cowardly whining, and wasn't really listening to the poor girl. "Truly, this test is the only way to overcome narcissm and soulless selfishness."

She motioned the other teachers to follow her, both of whom looked a bit TOO eager excited. "Come now Professor Stone, Professor Feruul...we'll just watch everything from outside. Remember students, be brave!" She walked out the door, with a mechanical clipboard hovering in front of her.

There was very little need for physical effort in this world, and usually one was only left with their own twisted imaginations...hence these bizarre assignments and sadly, hence the Nightmares. Jane shook her head, she wouldn't rest until they all were destroyed.
