You know how for the past few months Lanzer's had "Current projects - Gaia Fishing" going on in his sig and everyone (well, that's an over exaggerating but it sounded more dramatic than "a few sad Gaians with nothing better to do" so I put that in instead) has been hyped up (more over exaggeration) about what it could possibly be and how it could work.
Well here it is people, the first preview of GAIA FISHING! OMG!!!1one LOLZ! It LOOKS SO KEWL!!
domokun heart Gaia Fishing.Ok, so as I suspected - it looks crap. Apparently it's due to be released this month which can mean only one thing - MORE SEVER PROBLEMS! Yey! But at least Szinriia can get to use her "make lots of gold while you wait" trick (darlin', you
really need to get out more
xp ).
But what else does it mean, surely it can't all be bad? Ok, actually it can. From what I can gather from the crappy pictures and rough outlined idea you sit there with your rod in hand (no, that's not innuendo) and wait, and wait, and wait for some fish. So what happens when you catch these fish? Well, there are lots of different fish (lucky us
rolleyes ) so not only can you collect them all (it's like aquatic pokemon - Rai should love it
whee ) but you can also sell them in the marketplace.
Now am I the only person currently thinking "Who the bloody hell would, in their right mind, want to buy a fish!? Now you could be out buying fairy wings or something but no, instead I think I'll buy a fish! WTF!?". And it gets better - apparently the fish are going to be worth a lot - THEY'RE BLOODY FISH!
However to catch the fish one must first purchase a rod. But to catch the best, most expensive fish (as if we care) you have to have the best rods - yes, there are several rods that you can buy! I mean, wow, several different pixelated sticks! Could it be any better? - Yes.
So there we have it people, Gaia fishing is coming to a screen near you.
P.S. If this is fishing, wait until my rant about the battle system.
UPDATE - Well, it's finally here. I haven't had time to go and test it out yet but I will be doing shortly. Why? Just because I'm curious. I'm not going to spend much on the game, just buy a basic rod and some crap bait until I decide I do / don't like it.
If you've played it, what do you think? Will you be hooked [/bad pun] or will you simply cast your career back into the murky depths of Gaia?
Also, if you haven't yet played it, are you thinking about taking it up some time soon or can you just not be arsed?
