The Medium's cottage is anything but lavish. In fact, it looks more run down than anything else. The paint, what was certainly white before, peels off the four outside walls and is now a faded gray color. The shutters along the sides of the cottage, good for keeping light out, are painted a dark forest green. It is the only part of the cottage that doesn't seem to be hard for wear. There are two sets of windows, one on either side of the main door. The second story has three windows evenly spaced, indicating the amount of rooms on the second floor.

Their shutters are the same, perfect color as the lower story's window shutters. Considering she's being punished for a dire mistake, it only follows that she's not to be rewarded too fully in her earthly existance.

In all honestly, it was nice of them to allow her to keep her wings.

The cottage itself is modestly sized, sitting atop the Barton Cliffs, far away from most everyone. After all, people seeing Death hovering around isn't exactly pleasing.

Sitting in front of an unpainted wooden door is a roughly woven brown mat that reads "Welkom".

Apparently she cannot spell very well, either.

Upon entering the actual house, it looks as small as it did from the outside. There's a large living room area and in it are two couches that look far too comfortable to be punishment. In front of the couches is a small coffee table, rings made from cups decorating it. Obviously the Iridae doesn't care much for her furniture.

Sitting against the back living room wall is a decently sized television that looks as if it's never been touched. In fact, it probably hasn't.

To the left of the living room is a second living room - though this is decorated quite differently. There's a large mahogany table sitting in the center of the velvet-carpeted floor. Several chairs matching the table are situated around the round piece of furniture and in the very center of the table is a crystal ball on a white marble stand.

Below that is a square of black velvet to keep it from scratching at the table.

Hanging around the walls are colorful tapestries and beads. In fact, the only way the room is visable is through a colorful curtain of beads that seem to be oddly still - as if nothing could really touch them.

The room is sealed and unenterable.

That's all there is in the cottage - two large rooms. No stair case, no kitchen, no hall way. It seems to disappear behind a large wall covered in a tapestry - though behind the woven fabric is nothing but solid wall.

Unless, of course, Medi leads you herself. Behind the wall is a staircase leading upstairs. The walls on either side of the staircase are painted black and it's as if you're walking through a completely dark tunnel until you reach the very top of the stairs. This is where the house seems to expand, two very long hall ways stretching to either side.

The rooms vary between bedrooms and bathrooms. There's a library, albeit somewhat small behind the very last door on the right and in the same position to the left of the hall way is an empty room.

Quite literally empty. When you enter it, it takes a different form depending on what's needed. Of course, the only way someone else can see what you see is if you need them to see it - otherwise, it looks exactly like they need it to look.

However, when in the room with Medi, it usually takes on the appearance of a dark cave with a river running through. To the side is a stone circle. A training room, no doubt, next to the proverbial River of Death.

Obviously, it's where she feels most at home.

The house itself seems to change according to Medi's and other Spirit Keeper's needs. In fact, it seems to like to change a bit too much and likes to confuse people. While it keeps the same lay out, the rooms switch around.

Nothing can ever be found in the same place twice, except the last two doors.
