Naomi set the snarly little toddler down in the sand with a frown, "Stay." She backed a few steps away, holding one hand out in front of her, "S-taaay. Ya little b*****d." She wasn't happy about having to watch the brat, and even less that she actually had to be near him to do so. But near him didn't mean he had to be in view. Ah Mr. Loophole, her best friend. Next to vodka of course. She was already a little bit tipsy, and simply wandered away from Jack as he proceeded to stab a hole in the sand with his knife. The less time she had to spend with him the better.
After he'd made a hole around the size of his fist in the sand, Jack was bored. He tucked his knife back into the sheath under his sweater and looked around for something a bit more... Interesting. There were sunbathers and surfers, and little kids building sand castles, the normal beach crowd, nothing he really wanted a part of. A little creature scuttled out of the sand for a brief moment, catching his attention. With a wicked grin, he followed it, eventually stopping and crouching down by the spot where it was settled. He was staring at the spot intently, though he didn't seem like he was actually going to do anything but stare.

While others soaked up the rays on the hot, sunny beach, Kiita was busy trying to plant a big umbrella into the sand. "You just go ahead." She growled, not directly AT Anisia, but she was getting frustrated. It seemed so easy. It was sand for heaven's sake. But dry sand was very loose near the top layers, so she had to try and plant it deeper in the ground for it to hold. Once she successfully had it held up, she placed a towel beneath her make-shift shade and began getting wrapped into a novel she picked out earlier.
Amused a little at her adoptive mother, Anisia smiled and refrained from slipping a laugh. Careful of the other little kids out and running around, the three-eyed girl began to wander around barefoot. She was dressed in a single-piece bathing suit with a skirt that covered her legs. Ani started to walk where the water washed over the sand, thinking if she should go out and swim already.
Eventually a little boy came into her view...and he was staring very intently at a spot in the sand. Had he found gold like people say they do at beaches?
"What'cha looking at?" She asked as she came closer, trying to get a look at the spot he was staring at.

Not looking up to see who had spoken, Jack grunted, "Crab." He hoped whoever it was, a girl he guessed from the voice, wouldn't scare the critter away. He had plans for it, he'd heard things about them on TV and he wanted to find out if they were true. First, he'd see if it really had a bunch of legs. Second, he'd see if it pinched. And third, well third would be the last game. Without turning around, her barked, "Why d'you care?" People got on his nerves sometimes, and though he was having an alright day psychologically, he was still more than a little bit irritable.

Ani's hopes dropped a little. So it wasn't gold or treasure like she had heard of. Just a crab someone, like Kiita, would probably catch and eat later. Maybe it would survive if it was lucky. "Oh." Was all she said, her interest already wavering. Anisia wondered why he found a crab that interesting just to stare at it.
When he spoke again, she wrinkled her nose a little...not like he could see it though with his back turned. Well, that was rather rude of him. "I don't. I just thought maybe you found gold or something." She huffed back.

"Gold's usless," he huffed back, growing a bit impatient with this person hovering behind him. She was going to ruin his whole plan. He yanked the right sleeve of his sweater up, hoping the girl wouldn't say anything too loud. "Shhh," he whispered, just in case she decided it would be a good time for a parade.
Not more than ten seconds after he had told her to hush, the boy screamed and dropped onto the poor crab, coming up with sand on his sweater and in his hair, but more importantly, a crab in his hand. "Got it!" he chimed, turning around to face his mysterious commentator. "Woah," he nearly yelled, pointing the hand that clutched the squirming crab at her face, "You've got three eyes!" He didn't seem to plan on letting the creature free anytime soon, as it was he was nearly crushing its shell in his grasp.

Ani bit back what she was going to say when he suddently shushed her. What was he planning on doing with it anyway? Eat it like that? Hopefully not. That'd be gross. It should be cooked and buttered first.
Realizing a little too late on what he was going to do, the three-eyed girl simply blinked as he successfully captured the nasty sea animal thing. "Hey! Get that away from my face!" She finally said, moving so it wasn't so close to her eyes.
Crabs were kind of ugly. And she didn't want an ugly thing in her face.
"Yeah, I have three eyes. And I can see you're smushing that crab so you might wanna loosen your hold on it before it dies!" Ani added, trying not to grimace at the little ugly thing.

Jack's face lit up at her response. So she didn't like crabs? Perfect. This was better than seeing how many legs it had. "Fine," he sighed, pretending he was going to let her get her way, "I won't smush it." Loosening his grip, he pushed the now bubble-blowing thing closer to her. "Give'im a kiss!" He teased, imitating the crab's bubble blowing face with his own sadistic twist to make it all the more creepy.
"Gwqaha," the crab sounded, the sound mostly coming from the hissing of air from it's bizarre little mouth. It obviously wasn't enjoying the game, but it didn't seem to notice the girl's disgust. Though, who would expect a crab to understand a girl. Even a crabby girl like this one.

Anisia was suspicious. The brightened look on his face and easy submission made her wary. "Good." She said, watching him as if he might start growing tentacles or something. She actually wouldn't be surprised. He already seemed strange...not like the other boys she knew.
"EW!" Ani squealed, stepping back away from the bubble-blowing, hissing crab. The typical girl reaction to a situation like this. How could he find this interesting? She crossed her arms in front of her once she put a good distance away from him and the crab between herself.
"You first." She said.

Him first? Jack looked curiously at the crab, trying to decide if it would be worth it. It's bubbles probably tasted like salt water, not that bad, and if he kissed one of its claws... His face twisted into a bizarre grin, "Fine, I'll give it a kiss." Puckering his lips up for effect, he gave the creature a kiss on the claw. And when it tried to pinch him, well, he opened his mouth wide and bit it off, leaving a squirming leg stump behind.
Turning to Ani, he crunched down hard on the claw, managing to free the raw meat, then spit the bits of shell out onto the sand. Smiling just to let her know he was enjoying it, he swallowed his little 'snack' and said, "There, kissed it." Holding the still living, though admittedly more agitated crab out, he added, "Now it's your turn." Girls were silly, you weren't supposed to be afraid of animals. Especially ones you ate.

Just watching him kiss it was enough for her. She, again, stopped herself from grimacing too much as she watched. She hadn't meant for him to do it literally! She just hoped it would have managed to convince him to stop, but obviously that hadn't worked.
But when he bit off one of the thing's legs, her mouth fell open. He bit it off! He bit the LEG off! And ate the meat people usually ate inside them! That was just insane. That was just...unhealthy. She merely stood there gawking for a full minute before she came to her senses.
"I'm not kissing that crab." Ani said firmly. "Its nasty."

Amused by the fact that she seemed so awed by his little game, he shrugged, "Fine, more for me." He didn't really intened to do the whole show of kissing it then biting it off again, but he certainly didn't plan on wasting it. Snapping off the remainder of the leg stump, he sat down. "What'syer name?" he asked, only half paying attention as he tried to chew the piece's shell open. The rest of the crab still squirmed in his other hand, but it seemed to know that it wasn't going to be going anywhere too soon.

"People call me Ani for short." She replied, watching while he began eating the rest of it. At least he didn't persist that she kiss the crab. Not knowing anyone else around the beach area, the girl took a seat in the wet-but-not-too-wet sand. If he had proceeded to shove it in her face, she probably would have left. "My real name's Anisia though." She added as she began tracing random swirls into the sand. "Whats yours?" She asked.

Managing to free the meat, he took the time to chew it up and swallow it before answering her. Since it didn't seem like she was going to go away he might as well find out some things about her. "I'm Jack," he answered, tossing the bit of shell into the low tide to watch it get washed away. He didn't snap another leg off just yet, instead turning the crab over to inspect it a bit. He wasn't really paying full attention to either her or the critter, but then again, he never really did. The boy had a fairly short attention span, until someone started bleeding. "No one calls me anythin else," he added, refusing to mention his aunt's rude nickname of Jackieboy.

Anisia just continued watching the crab squirm. She kind of felt bad for it, since it was being eaten alive. "Have you caught anything else today, Jack?" She asked, wondering what other poor creatures he could have already caught and eaten. Ani heard French people ate snails. And people ate squid and stuff too. She liked seafood, but obviously cooked first. Not just catching and eating on the spot.

Thinking about it for a moment, he snapped off another leg, eating it quicker than the rest. If he didn't finish it soon the crab was going to die then it wouldn't be as fresh. "Nothin today, cept a chicken, but I can't ear her. Her name's Brooke, she's family." Personally, he would have had no problem with eating the loud mouthed bird, but the other Relikits in the household were too defensive of her to let him.
