Okay, pretty much everyone knows about/ has arcade assholes. Most arcades have them, stories are told about them, and there is a topic about them in this guild.

But what about the nice people you meet at arcades?

I went to Cedar Point yesterday for my Honor Society trip, and they had two Extreme machines there, about 10 feet away from each other. There was this guy there who played on heavy, and then I got on and asked him how to rearrange the songs, and he was nice and showed me how and said good job after I was done playing.

Share your experiences here.

well, when I was at Universal Studios there were these two girls that were pretty good at the game, watching everybody play and stuff. and no matter who was playing or what level they were on they appladed the player.
don't clap for people usually (except for when I saw someone get an A+ on Charlene with no bar)

Pretty Pretty Priceless

guess the DDRNL crew, as we call the hardcore players, is good towards newlings. We often get asked who the game works, its not that well-known in Holland.
We always take that time to explain it to people, except when were playing, cause its pretty hard to play a song on heavy that is 8 or higher, score well, and explain it to others, while there eye-sight isnt well-adjusted to see the separated arrows.
but ussually, since we go in groups, there is always someone else there to explain it, to promote the game...

and THATS how we gotten 1 huge multiplayer Stepmania system with 2500+ songs, 1 DDR Extreme, 1 DS fusion, 5 ITG2 and 1 DS Supernova this year.
because we are nice! (and promotive ).

... *kicks nemesiss in the crotch* TEACH ME HOW TO BECOME NICE. ;-; All we have is an Extreme machine with both pads broken and a USA machine.

People give me freeplay gamecards a lot, for some reason.

Yeah, I've already planned to just so happen to bump into one at the Avalon. xp
Seriously, I spent nearly 2 hours laying the perfect groundwork. . . it's flawless.

Also, everyone locally knows that I play DDR better than they do, so when I go to arcades and my friends are there, they always make sure I can get in as much DDR as possible.

Then, I met some nice people at a casino once while playing PIU in the arcade.

I have only met a few nice people while I played DDR at the arcades. I can safely say that I've met more nice people who played PIU back then when Jillian's was still around and a D&B. Then again, asshats or not, I miss having an arcade I could enter without getting my head bitten off. Time Out is gone, and D&B is here to stay.

As for ITG, most of them take their dance game too seriously, and I consider that very annoying.

Hahah, we have a Jillian's and a Time Out around here. Or did. Time Out's gone, but Jillians has never had a PIU. Wish ours did.

And yes, most ITG players are obnoxious fanboys! 3nodding I have a feeling we're going to get along very well. *pat on the back*

Most of the ITG players are like "DDR sucks because it's too easy" and the DDR players are like "OMGWTFBBQ 5 GREATS OH NOES". Well, at least they can full combo most songs with less than 50 greats at the arcades. Then we have the Pump players who are like "Thank goodness we're not in this meanless cat-fight. Most people are able to get less tthan 50 greats on songs with a combo of over 500 and we get hard charts." The PIU community get a happy medium while the DDR and ITG fanboys lash out at each other.

Afraid not. Most Pump communities actually use the words "4-paneller" as an insult.

That's bascially nothing when you take into account DDR players calling Pump players "DDR-hating fags". First, we had racism only for races and relgion, and now for people who play music games.

I've actually associated with a few Pump communities, including that of the Southeast that Red Viper is a part of, and they really are very bashy of DDR being too easy and ITG being too rip-offish of Pump. "WE HAD HANDS FIRST LOL."

i wonder what the dutch players should be called...
since NONE of us really fit in those stereotypes...
were more playing for the fun, than for the perfects...
we do try to get better scores, but we dont give much though to it..

if you really want to be impressive, you have to start playing DOUBLE !
doesnt matter which game, if you can clear 8 or higher, its pretty impressive for most players, since not alot kan do that...

to be precise:

officially DDR DID had the first handplant, though it was just a glitch.
its on the song Ulh la la la - Alexia, on DDR 1.5
in those days, people placed handplants as a part of freestyling, an art which had almost been lost, till ITG incorporated them back in the game.
true that PIU was there before ITG, but most have NEVER SEEN or even PLAYED PIU.

I was at the arcade at the mall, and I waited like an hour for all the assholes to leave so I could play without embarrassment (Im still a noob)

Eventually they left, and I rush to the machine. Of course, as soon as I stepped onto it, about 60aodfhadfhandjfmillion people showed up. My friend, who was supposed to play with me, was like OH EFF THIS YO and stormed off. I had already put in a dollar, and I wasnt about to waste it. So This crazy lookin goth guy steps up and is like "Want me to play in her place?"

I was like "Yeah. But Im still a beginner, so you and your 10 thousand friends cant laugh at me!!" It was really sude, I know. But he just smiled and nodded. We played, and even though I didnt do that bad, I still got all flustered and upset.

After we finished, he smiled at me again and said "Your not too bad. You need to keep on practicing" And I was like "I WANT TO HATE YOU, BUT YOU HAVE DEAFEATED ME WITH YOUR KINDNESS!!" And I ran away...

Anyway, he was one nice, kick a** arcade guy.
