It was.. a delightfully boring day, and Kimiko found herself yawning as she consumed her "brain food", as she called it. Or more widely known, mind-numbing television.
She was considering crawling back under the covers when the telephone rang, and got up to answer it.
"M'hm.. yes, yes. Really? Intriguing. Drop by when you have the time, we'll get this straightened out."
Replacing the phone on the reciever, Kimiko stuck her head out of her bedroom door and screeched for Mayu to get downstairs. After clicking the television off, she followed herself.
"Could you be any louder?" Mayu groaned, sitting down on the couch. She had been reading a new book, and was getting quite absorbed in it too..

And then came the knock at the door.
When Kimiki would open it, in the doorway would stand both Ka and Loki. Loki glancing to the side, while Ka had a determined expression on his face.
"Miss...?" He trailed off, expecting her to introduce herself.

Kimiko swung open the door and stepped aside for the two to enter.
"Kimiko," she said, taking a seat upon the beige couch. "Please, sit down."
...Great. So this was what her guardian had called her down for. Mayu's happy demeanor was immediately covered up with a scowl, and she shot a glare at Loki as he entered the room.
"So.. I understand you are here to talk about.. what, exactly?" The teen quirked a brow, looking over at Ka and Loki.

"The voodoo doll your daughter sent," Ka murmured, bringing it out and dangling it in front of the woman. "She even had a note with it."
Behind Ka, Loki gave her a small smile, showing his teeth. He was enjoying this.

"Yes, right.." Kimiko muttered, looking over at Mayu.
"I'm sorry, Mayu isn't usually one to cause trouble. How she even sneaked out of the house with that thing, I don't know." Well, at least she was honest -- she really hadn't a clue as to how her daughter even knew how to make a voodoo doll, much less get it out of the house and return with no one noticing.
"So, what happened exactly that caused you to... send that thing out to another kid?" Kimiko asked, question directed towards Mayu.
"The hair thing," the Legend said, and scowled further.
"Ah, yes, that." The black-haired girl looked up again, and pondered. "Okay, let's start over. I've gotten the whole story about the hair thing from Mayu.. What exactly, may I asked, caused your child to burn off the whole lower half of Mayu's hair?" she asked, waiting for an answer.

"I believe... she was teasing Loki about his dead sister." Ka murmured, giving Mayu a steely eyed gaze. His black hair fell to the sides of his cheeks, and it was a long moment before he turned back to Kimiko. "You're just a pup yourself..."
This time, Loki turned away, his fist clenched. The pain of remembering Lola was still etched in his eyes, and on his face.

"She was?" Kimiko looked surprised, Mayu wasn't exactly notorious for teasing anyone, especially on such a touchy subject. Smacking her forehead, she looked over at the pink Legend, who was currently trying to sink into her seat.
"God, Mayu, if you really hate someone that badly, just give the kid a wedgie for chrissakes!"
She ignored the "pup" comment.
"I wasn't myself." Mayu grumbled, vaguely recalling the bowls of sugar she had been eating that morning. "And I wouldn't touch his underwear if you paid me a million dollars."

"Fools never cease..." Ka muttered, walking around and glancing at the inside of the house. Very curious, indeed.
"Perhaps we should leave them to make their differences? Loki can hold his own well enough. Bychance, do you like tea...?" Ka smiled very briefly; tea was not a favorite of his, but since he had been stuck in the same body as Kanth, he had craved it.
"Hell if I ever accept your apology," Muttered Loki, now standing beside Mayu and murmuring sweet nothings in her ear, only loud enough for her to hear. "After all... you're too pretty to actually have some wit."

"Earl Grey? Green tea? White tea?" Kimiko piped up instinctively, remembering the large stash she had kept in a back cabinet for both herself and visitors. She walked into the kitchen, keeping an eye on the two kids in case trouble started up.
Mayu opened her mouth to speak, but had nothing to say in response to Loki's "scathing" comment. This only made her scowl further.
"Looks like you've figured me out, huh?" she said, clenching her fist.

"White will do, thank you." He gave a sly smile, silently laughing at his own joke.
"Ohohooo, so the chick admits her faults. Gotta hand it to ya, love, you certainly know when to fold them..." He whispered, smirking as he leaned back, using his free hand to ruffle through her short, singed hair.

"Alright. Can you get two tea bags? They're in the... top-left cabinet, methinks." Kimiko made a vague gesture with her elbow as she filled up a tea kettle. She wondered where the other tenants of the house were, they never missed a chance to watch someone else get in trouble. Shrugging, she placed the kettle on the hot stovetop and waited for the water to boil.
Mayu waved away his hand, and gazed toward the sliding patio doors. She had nothing she wanted to say, and so stayed silent.

"Silence suits you," Snarked Loki, whom turned away and stared at both of the parental figures.
Taking one of the teabags, Ka certainly took his time, having a mischevious smile upon his face. He apparantly knew more than he let on...

"...Yes," Mayu started, though paused for a moment as an idea came to mind. A brilliant one, at that.
"Would you.. like a can of soda?" she asked, putting on her best innocent face.
Kimiko quirked a brow as she overheard Mayu's question. Ah, the old fizzy soda trick.. priceless. She really should have intervened, but she would stuck around to watch the aftermath. She needed a bit of amusement for today.

Ka snorted, smiling. He knew all too well what was about to occur... this was a test for Loki, after all.
Blinking, Loki turned and looked at her, raising an eyebrow. Perhaps she was going to be nice now...? "Aah... sure." He crossed his arms, now fiddling with one of the ends of his scarf.

Mayu smiled. Perfect. After all, revenge was best served fizzy, wasn't it? Or maybe it was cold, but whatever -- the word "fizzy" fit her plot way better.
Entering the kitchen, the Legend shot glances at the two adults. They obviously had figured out her plan, but were they going to take action to stop it? It didn't seem likely, so she reached into the fridge and pulled out two cans of Pepsi, shaking one up fiercely. She bumped close the refrigerator door and returned to the living room, peering down at the two cans in her hands.
She collided with a passing Tala as she made her way out the door, and in a fumble, tossed the soda cans up. ...Oh s**t. She caught them in midair, and looked down at them. She had no idea which was the fizzy one now.
Had to hope for the best then, she thought, and tossed Loki a Pepsi.
"Cheers?" She smiled meekly, biting her lip as she opened the tab of the soda can.
Kimiko frowned, Mayu had grabbed the wrong soda can by mistake.. This was going to be something, indeed.
