According to the guest list, Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) will be at A-kon this year. And there's some contest to win a lunch date with Kristine Sa, whoever she is. They don't actually expect the winner to pay for her lunch, do they?

Hells yeah Chewbacca is gonna be there. plus anime plus the dealers room plus a gaming lounge full of weird Japanese games, plus a bunch of awesome weirdos to talk to. what more could a girl want?hun?? HUHN?! I duno they might expect her date to pay. who else is gonna pay? EH?!
Its not IN my area btw. I'm traveling with a group from Kansas City Mo. to Dallas Texas. Its an 8 hour drive.
I'm cozplaying this year as a shinagami from Bleach. Infact today I'm going to sew up my costume. I plan on getting 4 short kimonos done today. surprised wish me luck. Some time between now and then I also want 2 long kimonos, and an outfit for Evadine.

If they are able to goto an anime con then they would probably know the poor reception the star wars cozplayers and the star trek coz players and even some of the gameing cozplay get. Plus untill this year Dr Who was prety obscure in America. Couple of years ago I saw somebody in a Dr Who T-shirt. Thursday! we're leaving on Thursday! WOOT! We're going to do our laundry on Wednesday and packingf then too, and meeting people. we're gonna leave at 6am to avoid trafic and get settled before abuseing the con for 4 days. awwwwweeee YEAH.

Sounds like a lot of fun! Why do I get the feeling you're car's coming back with loads of anime merchandise... seffy_chan no. Who fans are fairly inteligent. What's wrong with gaming cosplay? Some people object to the bazillion Yuna clones walking around?

I'd rather take the Yuna clones than the fabled Man Faye. Not that I have anything against people doing crossplay, but...

Yes I will put up pictures as soon as I can put them into a format that would allow you to see them. which is next week after summer finals.
Speaking of Crossplay.. I saw so much bad crossplay that I hurt inside now. And actualy I did see a 5th doctor cosplay and a K-9 roaming around.
I had kindof a good time. Between my friends keeping me up at night to chatter to eachother, a random Japaneese kid rubbing himself up on me, and the morons who rode the elivator with me I ended up having a nervous break down saterday night (which was actualy sunday morning).
bUt I did get some stelvia gashapon, a 1/6th scale replica sword, I saw trinity blood which is awesome, and strawberry marshmallows which I personaly loved.
