The mines started off as a small accessible hole leading into the foot of the surrounding mountains. In the days after destruction had laid waste across Black Amber, Ultima had noticed how important the mountains could be to his home.
Around that small hole is now a few bunches of tools, piles of lumber and crude sign that says "Danger: Ultima at work".

Ultima stared, satisfied at the sight before him. It was nothing to write home about for sure, merely a hole in the base of a cliff and a few supplies. It was a start however to something that he hoped would grow much larger.
A large sledgehammer was in his left hand, laying across his shoulder. His whole body was dirty right now, dirt from the smashed rock that now lay in a pile to the side of the entrance.
One thing was certain, if he was going to get anywhere he needed help.

"Not sure what to be more surprised at. That I searched for you for three days with utterly no trace, or that when I finally do find you you're digging a hole to China. What's going on?" This must have been the start of the proposed mines, of course, but she was still surprised at what she found. And he looked... well, obviously there was some work to be done anyways.

"What's China?" Ultima looked puzzled for a moment and then resolved it was just Pale talking crazy again and that it didn't matter. "Anyway, I'm getting a start on the mine work that needs to be started. I'm thinking I'll need to build a campus near hear for the workers and the offices, but what really troubles me is what to do with all this useless rock and dirt over there" he said as he pointed to the barren pile he had collected.
"That and I'm getting hungry from breaking rock all day"

"I- oh, never mind. I traveled a little when I was younger. Anyways, where are you going to take the workers from? Unless you've already employeed some, I know there's plenty in New Xhen that need jobs." she stared at the pile "How long did that take you? Damn, just today? Here, take a rest, we can get something to eat then gather workers afterwards."

Never one to refuse free food from .. well anywhere really, Ultima let the hammer down on the ground and turned to Pale with a smile. "Deal, but where? I haven't sampled local cuisine in awhile. Then later we can recruit I suppose. Of course this means I'll need a bigger sign."

"I think I know where to go for signs," she grinned, then pulled him alng by one of his hands "and cuisine is all good, but I know where the best bar is. The foods more quantity than quality there, but the liqour's spot on." And so they set out for Absinthe.

And so he let her drag him along, becuase he sure as hell didn't know the way. "I've heard of that place before.. I think I was gonna go once but got distracted ..."
