Metal seems to be pretty popular amongst the members of this guild(or their the fans being the most vocal about their favorite genres, which wouldn't surprise me). And when I hear the Metal on of the first bands that come to mind is Iron Maiden so heres the topic.(with more info then my previous ones as prmoised)
Iron Maiden is one of the most popular Heavy Metal(or NWOBHM if you prefer). They formed 1975 and are still going strong having released 14 studio albums (they even have a new album coming out in the fall,november I think). Throughout the many years they have gone through 18 diffrent members.
Their current line up is
Vocals- Bruce Dickinson
Guitar- Dave Murry
Guitar- Adrian Smith
Guitar- Jack gers
Bass- Steve Harris
Drums- Nicko McBrain
So how many people hre like Iron maiden? Who's your favorite Member/Singer/Song/Album?
My personal favorites are Dickinson(member and singer) Album is Dance of Death and song would be either Paschendale or No More Lies.

I didn't much care for Dance of Death. I found that it didn't really capture the energy and spirit of an Iron Maiden album as did Brave New World. My personal favorite would have to be Powerslave, for the basic reason that the epic Rime of the Ancient Mariner is on it, and it remains, to this day, as my FAVORITE Iron Maiden song of all time. i just bought Somewhere in Time today. Wasted Years is a chooooooooooon.

codename ijin King: "Put them in the iron maiden!" Bill&Ted: "Iron Maiden" *air guitar* King: "Execute them!" Bill&Ted: "Bogus..." God, i love that movie. Teacher: "Who was Joan of Arc?" Ted: "uhhh...Noah's wife?" That was such a great movie, a timeless classic. You either like Wayne's world or you like Bill and Ted. Keanu Reeves played a great part, as the idiot of the two (well, both weren't too smart, but Ted was more of an idiot.) Great stuff!

Bill and Ted rocked so hard
and Iron Maiden is one of the best metal bands ever
Powerslave is prbably my favorite album but Holy Smoke, Run to the Hills, and The Trooper are my favorite songs
oh wait Ancient Mariner was an awesome song too, havent heard it in a while

I didn't like Dance of Death... I hope the new CD that's coming out will be good.
My favourite one would have to be Brave New World. The Wicker Man, Blood Brothers and Ghost of the Navigator are my favourite songs.

Bill And Ted own. Nice I only physically own Number of the Beast but i have all their albums on my MP3 player thanks to my maiden obsessed friend. Bill and Ted most definatly own.

I'd like to get the Dream Theater official bootleg of them covering the entire album of Number of the Beast, as well as their bootleg version of Master of Puppets by Metallica and Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd.

I really liked Dance of Death, I must say. I found they managed to keep their sound but still make an original album.
I've always enjoyed Iron Maiden but only recently have I began listening to them everyday biggrin

bleedingpixey I like fear of the dark!!!!!!!!!! xp Not really my favorite, but what are you gonna do? I didn't find it to be that great. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son is ten times better, I find. If you really want a class Maiden album, check out that one. 'Infinite Dreams' and 'Can I Play with Madness' are two AWESOME songs.

My favorite album is (stereotypically) Piece of Mind, and my favorite song for some reason is "Sun and Steel," I don't know why.

I heard threat things about the new one coming out, 'A Matter of Life and Death.' It's said to have the same energy that Brave New World did, which is good news. I can't wait for its release!!! xd
