If you haven't seen this series yet I recommend you buy both seasons on DVD. They are out now. First season is freakingly short but I guess they were kinda trying to see if it would get the fanbase required. As we have seen previously most Sci Fi shows get canned rather quickly.
The first season was really good, I saw it one day on Sci Fi channel, they aired all the eps on one night so I got pumped. The following day I was looking for the DVD.
I finished watching the second season last night and I can tell you this. If there's a series that keeps improving on everything that has done right then this is it.
The acting, stories, drama, action and all of the other elements have gone up. There's one episode that depends on your personal experience you might find it more funny than it was intended but it wasn't less enjoyable.
I don't want to spoil anything for those that haven't seen it yet but the story is kinda like this:
4400 people were taken from wherever year they were living in. Some have been gone for 50 years other for just 3 but they all look the same as they left. They were altered and sort of have "Super Powers" now. I'm pretty sure the creators were inspired by the X-Men in some way. If you ever wondered how would people react if suddenly some of us started to show abilities that are far beyond what we consider normal then this show answers that question. The cover ups, the studies, the experiments, everything is in here. They however haven't exploited the panic but I think they'll be getting to that on the third season. The way season 2 ended promises a very interesting third season.
If you have doubts about getting the series answer this questions, if most of them are yes, rent it, if all of them are yes then buy it.
1- Do you like Sci Fi shows?
2- Do you like drama with your Sci Fi?
3- Do you like Conspiracies and Coverups in your story?
4- Is character development important to you?
5- Do you want answers to your questions as well as new questions every time you see an episode?
6- Would you want a character to help guide you through the story without it being just that?
7- Do you like realistic fantasy?
There you go.
If you watch it too or end up buying the DVD let me know what you think of it. From now on there can be spoilers so if you haven't seen it don't read past this post until you do. ^^

Oh, it is running on TV monday evening here. I don't watch it at the moment, though. Maybe when they'll start the re-run... ^^;

You can always download an eps or two and see if it's worth spending the cash. Me being a person that overthinks about spending a buck I have season one and looking for season 2. (Don't want to buy it at Wallmart, more expensive than necessary)

I watched the special last night, looks to be a good series, I was also thinking that it might make for a fun premise to a game. I was thinking something online possibly with an Urban Dead like interface no clue of the actual plot would be (or if there even would be one) but essentially every player would create an account and either all or some may have 1 or more dormant powers, based upon how you play the game the powers may surface and/or grow.

New season starts tonight at 9:00PM Eastern Time. That means I'll log off earlier than usual Sunday nights.

Ok saw the first eps of the new season.... a bit overwhelming. They used to give you just enough so you would watch the next episode now the questions from that episode alone are way too many. Some time has passed (again) between the season and well I feel a little lost lol
I'll have to watch it again.
