Sayuri held Sastu's hand firmly. Her eyes half closed she listened to the prayers of her fathers wishes, for, her moms sickness was growing worse, A damp tear fell from the corner of Sayuri's eye and slipped of her nose like a skate sliding against the damp ice.

The docotr came in and spoke sofly to my father, I could make out a bit of the words he mouthed. "You need to get her out of that ragg she's wearing", said the docot father replied. "But we have no money for a new robe". Father turned around to look at me and nodded I knew aht he wment I went to get ur preucius iteam in the shirime.
