I need more anime. The thing is, I've got my own taste and not just any anime will do.
Anybody have some favorite titles or reccomendations?
Here are some of the titles in my collection:
Ah! My Goddess - The new series, airing for the first time now in Japan. A good story but not nearly as good as the manga. Azumanga Daioh - One of the most hilarious anime ever, and so damn cute. Chiyo chan, why are you flying? Di Gi Charat - It's actually a commercial for a japanese store called Gamers, but it's so damn funny and random that you don't even care about the bad quality of animation. Dr Slump - Roll on the floor funny (too bad I've only seen one episode). It's made by Akira Toriyama (remember DBZ?) FLCL - The left and right sides of my brain are having sex Parappa The Rapper - This cartoon is ******** weird, but entertaining. Sergant Keroro - Hilarious stuff with cute gundam model loving aliens. Sonic X - Well, duh, I love Sonic.

*looks at the poll* Damnit, I love to have a little of all of those in my anime. I'd say Saiyuki if you want something that has comedy, action, and a bit of drama/angst. It's based on the same chinese legend Dragonball is based off of only it stays more true to the story. Except I don't think the monk originally travelled west in a dragon that turned into a jeep.
For pure action with a hint of comedy I'd say s-CRY-ed, it also has trippy looking visuals and tends to ******** with your mind a bit for the first few episodes. Though I felt the manga was better, and not just because there was tons of nudity. 9.9
Finally, I'd recommend King of bandit Jing because the world it takes place in is just bizzare and freaky looking. Plus just about all the characters are named after some sort of alcoholic beverage and it's just a crazy fun adventure to watch. Though when I saw it in anime club some people were whining that it was a kiddie anime. Yes, all kiddie animes have cute girls getting hit on by perverted crows.

.hack//SIGN's a good one. It's a bit wordy, thoguh, and some people may not like it. There's a bit of action, including regular fights with monsters, PK'ers, and usually between Sora and Kurim/Crimson. Sora's quite a funny person, jumping around, generally killing people, etc, etc, etc. It's a damn shame what eventually happens to him... And let's not forget the angsty transvestite of the group, and main character, Tsukasa! Woot. He goes through so many hardships through the series... Including having slugs thrown on him by a mute cat character. ninja
A lot of drama is present in the series, littered with comedy (usually supplied by either Sora or when Tsukasa falls down), a small ammount of romance, friendship, jealousy, angst (supplied by Tsukasa and Ginkan), lesbianism and action. Some moments are very sad, but I won't mention them, lest it spoil the series for any who chooses to watch it.
Episode... I think it's 15 is my least favourite. Damn clip shows. scream
Oh, and one last thing... At the end of the series... Greatest. Crucifixion. Ever! ... Okay, not the greatest. It's not as if it wiped humanity's sins clean or anything... ninja

I've really been loving Gankutsuou, it's based on the Count of Monte Cristo novel. I was curious and downloaded an episode because of the uber freaky coloring style, but the story was good so I decided to keep watching, and to put it simply now I'm obsessed xd Drama, scheming, and all that good stuff. Apparently it's pretty faithful to the book without making any ridiculous changes. Genshiken was also really good, it's about the members of an anime/video game club at school. Mainly focuses on a girl named Saki who begins dating her childhood friend, Kohsaka. Problem is though, he's an otaku - and isn't afraid to put his games and hobbies ahead of her. Very funny series, but I'm saddened by the 12 episode run. The story continues in the manga though, which is cool.

There's a series about a kid who plays the game Go that I've been meaning to check out. I've heard that it's pretty awesome. I'm afraid I don't remember the name of it though. sweatdrop

It also left me with an urge to learn how to play Go, bwahaha.

It also left me with an urge to learn how to play Go, bwahaha. I've been hanging with my school's Go club before school so I've been gradually learning some stuff about Go. Right now I really only know how to play first capture though. Last night I saw both Gravitation and Final Fantasy Unlimited. I really liked Gravitation because for one the music rocks and for another it has comedy and romance (though might not be the anime to watch if you're someone who doesn't care for homosexual relationships). FF:U Starts out kind of stupid and doesn't make much sense but after awhile it's something you can really get into. The opening theme sucks but the ending theme and the credits both kick major a**. But as a warning, do not watch the english version because the voice acting is terrible.
