I'm kinda annoyed by seeing the name "Gackt" beside every Malice Mizer thing I happen to come across on the internet. It's starting to irritate me. ._.;

I get annoyed by that too. I mean, I Love Gackt. But I don't love him more then any of the other band members. Gackt was an important part of Malice Mizer, but not more important then any of the other vocalists and band members. Gackt isn't Malice Mizer. He isn't what MADE the band. And people who believe so can't call themselves true MM fans.

It really pisses me off when I hear people saying things like, "Tetsu was ear torture! Gackt is the BEST!!!" They just say that because they have no true appreciation for talents that aren't... "normal" is the only word I can think of right now.

I admit I have "fangirl" moments... but I don't just listen to a band because of their looks alone. The actual MUSIC and the lyrics are what make a band, not just a sexy body and a pretty face.

I will admit, though I love Gackt's voice, Klaha had a better voice and a better image for Malice Mizer. I mean, yes, Gackt's era was a pretty damn good one, but goodness... Klaha's voice literally makes me melt. Gackt is better off being a solo artist and not looking so...gothic. I prefer him .. clean-ish.

You mean like, if it doesn't fit into the generic "this is how all popular jrock vocalists must sound" category? Tetsu's voice had unique qualities. Some people like those qualities, some don't. It's like the vibrato is Gackt or Jui's voices, some people find that really annoying, others love it.

EXACTLY and that's what annoys me about a lot of so called fans in my area. They ramble about "OMGWTFBBQ! MANORZ IZ TEH SECKKS! STFUOMG! SO IZ KIOW ND TOESHIYUH ND ROOKEE!" and then if you try discussing certain things about the music...silence. -_-'

Yup, we get that too. Makoto and I were watching my Malice Mizer DVD's in Anime Club I think it was around the begining of this year. Our friends wanted NOTHING to do with Jrock or even Jpop. They were all about Anime. We had showed them Dir en Grey, Aya, Kana, Miyavi, Tsuchiya Anna, Ayumi Hamasaki, Gackt, Gazette and tons of other bands, and yet still, they wanted nothing to do with it. They didn't even pay attention to Malice Mizer until it got to "Ju te Veux" and they saw Mana. And the thing is, they like "Happy Music" as we named it. The kind of music alot of Anime's have. Ju te Veux just so happened to catch their attention, and of course we had to correct them and tell them Mana was, in fact, a man.

The VERY next day. I mean wow, the next day, they all come waltzing in "OMG!!! I LOVE MANA!!! HE IS TEH GOD!! I WORSHIP HIM!!" Makoto and I were like, Wtf? I suppose the fact that they were all Yaoi fangirls didn't help matters.

This one girl, omg she pissed me off. I have a binder with some pictures of Jrockers. I don't even like the girl, she's one of those leech types. She'll just keep talking to you... and talking to you and talking to you only because your the only one who's nice to her. I was going through said pictures, telling her about some of the Jrock bands and such. But as soon as she saw Mana, it was all over. From their on, she ONLY cared about Mana. But the thing is, she was worse then the others because she didn't KNOW anything about him. She admitted it. She never even BOTHERED to download some Malice Mizer or Moi Dix Mois songs. I mean, still, to this day, I have to remind her that Mana does not sing, he plays the Guitar. I'll be talking about say... Gackt, and she'll be like, "I like Mana singing better" And I'm like, wtf? I just told you yestruday he doesnt sing! And she'll be like, "Oh? Then whats he do?" -__- And I know she doesn t have mental issues because she gets better grades then I do. A few months ago I was reading Gackt's Autobiography thing because I was effing bored, and I was telling her about Gackt's dramatic near death experiance and how he claims he can see spirits because of it, and she says, "I don't care, but if it was Mana I would care." -__- Yeah, I went off on her after that. =/ Seriously, how can she say that when shes ONLY seen pictures of him! o__o

But yes, back to the other people. Anyways, yes.... now they all have pictures of Mana all over their room, their locker and binders, bought some Malice Mizer CD's and DVD's and all that, and continue to go on about how great Mana is. =/ Oddly enough, they don't pay a bit of attention to Moi Dix Mois. I haven't heard then say one thing about it!
And Whenever Makoto and I talk about Moi Dix Mois, Moi-meme-Moitie, or about anything relating to the actual MUSIC, they change the subject.

=/ Same thing with other Jrock bands. We've been trying for months to get them into OTHER Jrock bands too, because, as much as I love Malice Mizer (which is ALOT) I DO like TONS of other Jrock bands as well. =/ You can't just attach yourself to ONE abnd like that. Because you can't really appreciate their talent if you can't recognize other bands talents. There would be nothing to compare them too! And it would (sadly) get boring after a while. Every Anime club we've had lately, we'd play PV's from other Jrock bands, and they go off to the other side of the room. We put on Malice Mizer, they swarm back, "Oh look! Theres Mana!~~ *squeal*" Video's over, we go to another band, they walk away again. =/ Really annoying. And another thing is... they don't even LIKE the Tetsu or Klaha Era! =/

Pretty ridiculous. It's perfectly possible to be a fan of something without liking every aspect of it, but to actually make an opinion into a fact is too far.

I personally first heard of Malice Mizer through Klaha's Shiroi, and I didn't like it at all at first. When I found out Gackt was the second vocalist, I started liking MM more, then I got used to Klaha and Tetsu.

One can not call themself a true fan if they do not respect other people's opinions about their personal likings.
