The Lowlands Pack, located in the lowlands.

Although the lowlands have much more prey than in the mountains, there is less natural protection. Despite the large grassy patches and the abundance of water, pups need to be well-watched in this region.

Deer: 2 wolves to take down
Elk: 3-5 wolves
Rabbit: 1 wolf
Small rodents: 1 wolf
Small birds: 1 wolf

The Alphas are Intryan and Phoenix

The normal coat coloring for wolves in this pack is any shade of brown, red, orange, or yellow.

These wolves do not get along well with the Blitz pack.
These wolves are allied with the Barren pack.

This thread is for pack RP only.

Mirah awoke the morning with a yawn, as the young wolf slowly got to her feet, and stretched her legs. The sun had just begun to peek over the horizon; as far as she knew, most of the pack was still asleep. The pup toddled from her den. The sweet aroma of Spring drifted through the air. Mirah wagged her tail in delight. A new year had begun. The weather had been pretty good for the past few weeks, and fresh-kill was easy to find. Her stomach began to growl, begging for food. Mirah had not eaten since yesterday morning, and catching food for the pack would do everyone some good.

'Alright,' she decided. 'I'll grab myself some food, and bring some fresh-kill back for anyone else in the pack who was hungry.' She may have been only a pup, but she could take care of herself most of the time, and her brother had tought her how to hunt many, many mons ago. With a sigh Mirah nodded, and headed out towards the forest.

The young adolecent crouched down into a hunting postion. She put all of her weight in her haunches, hoping to make no sound as she stalked her prey. A young rabbit was sitting in plain sight. It was as if it wanted to be breakfast. Mirah licked her chops, and crouched down even lower to the ground. Then--she pounced out.

The rabbit's heart began to pound in fear, as it hoped off as fast as it could. Mirah was ready for the chase. She ran faster, right on it's tail. "Don't bother running!" She called out with a hint of amusement in her voice, "I'll catch you anyways!"

Then the young wolf lunged at her prey, and with a vicious bite in the neck it was dead. She held the dead rabbit in her maw. She carried it over to a shady tree, and set it on the ground. She began to dig in the dirt, kicking up clomps of dry mud behind her. Mirah then placed the rabbit in her hole, and covered it up to be hidden. "I'll come back for you," she promised. Then she crept back into her hunting position, ready to catch whatever she could find.

Phoenix awoke and stretched out, yawning to drive the sleepiness away. She nuzzled her mate gently, so not wake him and licked his muzzle before heading out of the lair.

The morning light shone down as she narrowed her eyes against the brightness of light. She stood still a moment and shook her fur out before looking about. She surveyed the surroundings, noting that one of the youngsters had taken off.

Ears swiveled foreward as she picked her way through the sleeping pack. She kept everything about her in her alpha ranking, as she closed in to the forest edge, her pale eyes searching the vast forest before her...

It was a dreamer's grasp that kept a tight check on the rein's of one's mind, providing for now what seemed to be the only peace in the world. No harm ever came from the engulfing void, surrounding all thought and dwellings with the motherly arms of a velvet touch. Distant? Deep within the confines of his mind Intyran could feel his numbed limbs twitching slightly with a single thought; very slowly he was being dragged back into the real world. Where there was no sweet release but rather the pride of one's pack and the relationships to his 'family'. Faintly the alpha male could have sworn he felt his cheek move with another's touch, and almost immedatly his mind branched out into the waking process, having felt the nuzzle. With a low moan escaping his throat from the exhaustions of the day before, Intyran willed his lids to rise once more and expose those dark pitch orbs of his. For a moment his eyes took the time to adjust with the dim light before it turned into the blinding glare of full bodily awarement to one's vision.

Perking his ears slightly the alpha listened to quiet pawsteps, wondering just who was up Intyran lifted his cheek from the ground; now moist with the morning dew. It took merely seconds before his nose caught the scent of Phoenix before his eyes spotted her, and with the craning of his neck over a still lazed shoulder he fully took on the sight of his mate moving delicatly as if trying not to wake the others. For some reason that got his lips to curl up slightly into a wolfish grin, and as he watched a bit longer his tail swept across the ground very softly. Deciding it was time he should be up and about the orangish male cracked open his maw to yawn at the sky, as if defying it was even that time of the day. But with this settled he tenderly rolled over to his belly and pushed against the ground, once again bringing himself to his feet. Though pondered whether or not he should follow her, Intyran padded forwarded as softly as she had. No sense in waking a sleeping wolf without a cause.

One ear went back, hearing the soft padding. She looked behind her, seeing her mate comming. She smiled softly before turning back to the forest. She wanted to go after the young one, but figured she needed the practice and would give a sign that she needed help, if she was in trouble.

"A young one's out there..." She said softly, still wondering about going after her.

When he was part ways towards her the voice was carried on the wind towards him, and the words made him tilt his head slightly to the side, as if asking a question. Though he expected no answer for he would not voice his concerns just yet, but rather lifted and experianced muzzle to the sky and tried to sniff out the youngster's faint scent and which direction it was coming from; unfortunatly the wind was against him on this issue and he had to snort at it for being unfruitful. "Do you know who it is?" Intyran asked quietly, padding the rest of the way towards Phoenix to stand beside her and at equal eye level, no better and no worse then herself. For an instant he held his gaze on her before glancing over his shoulder at the slumbering pack once more, trying to count up who all was there and who wasn't.

"Mirah...I want to bring her home but at the same time she needs the practice to become a hunter. "

She followed his gaze to the rest of the pack. She kept her gaze on them for a moment longer before sifting it back to the forest, her nose on the scent that decided to drift away from them for a morning hunt....

This was a bit disturbing for the alpha male, considering he wasn't big on youngsters going off to hunt on their own until they were adults. But then again he remembered back to a time were a young pup would go off on her own to hunt; and he guessed that habit had yet to work itself out. With a heavy sigh from a cracked open maw Intyran settled himself back down onto his haunches and focused those midnight orbs on the line of trees that stated the begining of the forest. Often times this place was a becon of hope to a hungry wolf, but it also held nightmarish fantasies for the younger wolves of the pack, so he assumed. Considering the wolf that was out there and points Phoenix brought up there wasn't much that could be done, except let it play it out. "If she doesn't return soon, then I think it would be alright to drag her back to the safety of the pack. There's a fine line between practicing for the good of the pack and stepping one's bounds into danger; let's not let her cross that line", he spoke with a sort of comforting confidence in his own words, moving his muzzle to nudge at the shoulder of Phoenix, hoping to help her relax a bit more.

She nuzzled him, relaxing with him near. "Agreed...if she doesn't send word we'll go find her."

She moved slightly away from the forest, flipping her tail a bit and nipped his ear, suddenly being in a playful mood.

He let himself smile slightly when she agreed with him on the plan, if no word from Mirah came soon then she would have to be brought back whether she liked it or not; and without a doubt not without a stern talking to. Though it was through the midst of these thoughts that he felt a slight nipping at his ear and twisted it away in surprise, glancing over to spot the mood displayed by Phoenix now. Quickly this got the better of him as the alpha male lurched to his paws once more, a fluffly tail swaying from side to side slowly, as if he were eyeing some kind yummy creature. Before starting off towards her he took one more look at the forest and perked his ears, when nothing came to sight or sound he faced Phoenix once again and took off at a slow, lumbering trot. His black pitch eyes now danced with a playful gleam as they ran themselves down the path of the she-wolf. Giving a quiet yip when he approached enough to actually reach out to her, the alpha male extended his muzzle and tapped a dark nose against her hip before darting off in another direction. After a few strides Intyran jolted to a stop to face her once more, lowering his front end till his chest touched the ground and his forelegs were extended out before him. With this stance he swayed his tail back and fourth once more, ready to bolt off in another direction and make her chase him.

She couldn't help but laugh as she trotted around in circles, gently nipping at his nose before giving chase, quietly touching his flank and dashing off the other direction, playing the same game, her tail swaying as she lifted her nose, pretending she was him.

She padded close and touched noses with him then dashed off.

Intyran allowed a playful grin to grace his maw, it wasn't often he got to play around like this and he was only to gald to have some sort of release from the usual serious tones he took with dealings of the pack and making sure everything was right within their little slice of lawful territory. When she got close to him once again and touched his nose the alpha male thought up a great retort to the pretending to be him. Though where she ran he gracefully got to his paws once more and flicked the tip of his tail and padding forward with delicate steps; he was now pretending to be Phoenix. But before he got to close to her he dropped the act and trotted the rest of the way, weaving from side to side in hopes of distracting his mate for a few breif moments. That is, until he was facing her once more and surprisingly lifted his forelegs off the ground and clamped them gently around her neck, trying not to hurt her while being playful at the same time. It was like trying to wrestle but the point wasn't to bring her to the ground, it was to n** at her ears in such a way it would be difficult to escape until he actually loosened his grip. "Look what I caught, yummy ears", he smirked.

her mouth opened with her tongue hanging out as though she were sticking her tongue out. It wasn't all the time that any of them got to play like this. Her ears twitched a bit but didn't move very far with him nipping at them. She licked his chin in retaliation to the ear nipping, tugging gently to be let go.

A squirell sat nearby, aparently it hadn't seen Mirah crouching nearby. She wiggled her rump in the air, ready to pounce and then, it spotted her. The squirell took off, and darted up a tree, out of Mirah's reach. "Dang it!" Mirah spat when her prey had escaped. One less peice of fresh-kill for the pack...

Mirah shook her head. Being angry at herself over it would do no good. Letting out a long sigh, she scanned all of her surroundings, hoping to find a rabbit or shrew to catch. Then--something caught her eye--a flash of light brown ran past her. Rabbit! In but a heartbeat, the adolecent wolf darted after the rabbit. "Get back here!" Mirah called as she picked up speed. "You're not getting away!"

She lunged at the rabbit, and sank her teeth into it's throat. She could taste it's warm blood oozing out. It struggled, flailing around for about five seconds until it lay still. It was dead. Mirah lay the rabbit on the ground, with a look of triuph on her face. "Told ya you wouldn't get away!" Mirah teased her fresh-kill. 'Alright, now I'll take these back, and come back for more.' she thought. Mirah picked the dead scap up in her maw, and padded to her buried kill from earlier as well.

"Alright, I'll eat this one, and bring the other one back to the pack in a moment." Mirah lay on the ground, and tore a peice of meat from the dead rabbit. The wolf wagged her tail with joy. After several minutes, she was done. Mirah got to her feet, and dug the other rabbit out from it's grave, kicking dirt out behind her.

Mirah picked up the rabbit, and carried it back to the Lowlands camp in her maw. She could taste the fur of the rabbit on her tounge. It tickled, but she meerly ignored it. Finally, she arrived. Not many seemed to be up yet. "Lazy butts..." Mirah muttered, with an amused tone in her voice. She placed the rabbit in the fresh-kill pile in the center of the camp.

Mirah then padded over to a rock which she lay upon as though she owned it most of the time. With a long, heavy sigh, Mirah hopped onto to rock, and sat down. 'I'll get more kill later...' she decided. 'I mean...it's not like Intryan or Phoenix sent me on huntiing duty...'
