Hiku stepped into the store ready for work. She was dressed in the uniform from head to foot, wich she thought was adorable. The uniform was a cute white collared tee with the name, Employee, in red glitter on the back, with a red and black pattern skirt like one of a school girl, a pair of black converses, and her hair was up in a ponytail. Looking around, she noticed that the other employee wasn't here yet, so she decided to start getting everything ready for today.

Camly, she set up everything. First, she got out all the esentials that was kept in the back after store hours. Then she checked all the invetory, made sure the bears, meterial, glitter, eyes, clothes, speakers, and everything you can think of. Turning around, she noticed a shelf that seemed to have fallen the day before. After grabbing the shelf, she put it back into place and continue with her check. When she was done, the other employee still hadn't came yet so she waited for her. The first rule is not to open until everyone is there.

( Sorry about being late. I had my dance recital last night that ended around 11pm. That and my rehersals were all week and ended really late night. Sorry. >.> )

Makie let out a huge sigh as she ran into the shop. With her hands on her knees, and her eyes closed shut, she could hear her breaths echoing through her mind. Opening those milk chocolate orbs of hers, the little girl finally straightened up to look around the shop. The first thing she noticed was-- "PIGGIES!" The small girl said running over to the nearest Flaky plushie. "I-It's soo keeyoot!" The girl exlaimed picking up one of the stuffed animals and hugging it... Until she realized she was a worker and not a customer. Her happy expression changed to a sad one as she set down the Flaky plushie and at last took in her surroundings.

Today, Makie was wearing the uniform. A white collared tank top, with employee in sparkly pink letters on the back. The brunette added in her on personal touch, adding pink sparkles along with thered sparkles, and added on rose pink frills on the straps of the tank top. The skirt was a red and black patterned mini skirt that Makie had a white fluffy, and kind of puffy, under skirt under the mini skirt. On her her legs were knee high white socks and a pair of little red shoes, with pink bows on the back. In Makie hair was down in little braids in the back of her head. One braid was tied with a beautiful red bow and the other braid was tied in a cute light pink bow. How kee-yoot! She looked like one of those little Grade 3s or 4s. And of course, a pink gymnastics ribbon was always held in her hands. There was also a bright red bookbag on her back.

That was when Makie finally noticed the other worker. The brunette paused for a minute. An awkward silence between the two... Then a small, barely audible shriek came from Makie. "Kyaaa!" The small girl covered her face as it began to turn a bright red. "I-I-I'm sorry... I-I... I like... I like p-piggies... A-A-And... They w-we're s-so cute..." Makie felt so embarassed, making a fool of herself on the first day. Shame on her. Ah... How stupid she must look. That's when the small girl noticed the shop wasn't open. So to avoid further embarassment she quickly scurried over to the door, taking a deep breath.

"I-I-I'll... Open the s-shop..." The small Makie said, flicking the 'Closed' sign to 'Open'. "Err... B-By the w-way... M-My name i-is Makie... N-Nice to meet y-you..." She said quietly, opening the door, and putting the door stop there to make sure every one knew they were open. The Makie turned around to the other employee and smiled softly, her arms open wide. The brunette was still blushing, but she had to make the best of the time she'd be spending with the other girl. "L-Let's be f-friends!" Now that that was established the girl decided to look around the shop. It was empty with the two of them there... More people would come soon! And maybe, just maybe, she could make a little Flaky plushie herself... Out of her own money of course.

(It's okay)
Hiku realized that her partner was here and it took a little while to notice. "It's okay, they are so hard to resist. My favorite is the cat ones. They are so cute!! Hey Makie, my name is Hiku. Glad to meet ya. I think we will be great friends," she smiled energetically at Makie with enthusiasum.

For a moment she thought her new job would be boring with someone who would be quiet, but she was glad that her partner was just what she was hopping for. Without a second for Makie to respond, she hugged Makie a little forcefully. After a moment, she realized that she was hugging a little too hard and she let go itmediately.

"Oh, I-I am so sorry. Did I hug you too hard? Lets hope today we have a lot of customers," she blurted with such emotion that it could be heard from miles away. She looked at the somewhat lonely shop waiting for it's customers. "Well, it sould get pack soon. I heard this place is really popular."

"Hey Makie, my name is Hiku. Glad to meet ya. I think we will be great friends,"

Makie smiled softly. Hiku... Hiku... Remember the name Hiku... It wasn't like Makie was bad at remembering names, but she didn't like to forget any one she meets. Every one she meets and becomes friends with is special to her in a way. You know? Friends are just those happy pills that get you through a rough day, or your motivation to do better. That was why the small brunette loved to make friends. Afterall, in Makie's mind, all friendship can do is grow and blossom into a beautiful flower of friendship... Geh... Cornyy...

The reason why Makie mainly signed up for the job was to have fun and meet new friends. That, and working with friends is so much easier then working with an enemy or something. So, you know, it's all good. That was when Makie was pulled into a hug. The brunette blushed a bright red. She was the one who normally hugged her friends, and she really own hugged Ai and Misty... Makie really, honestly, didn't realize that Hiku had been hugging a bit too hard, as she was so embarassed and was trying to wrap her head around what was happening. Although soon Hiku released the small Makie from her grip... Oh... And Makie was still blushing.

Holding onto one of her braids with her small pale hands, she glanced to the floor. "I-It's okay... Y-Y-You didn't h-hug me t-to hard." Then, Makie nodded slowly at Hiku's next sentance. "Y-Yeah... I-I hope we get m-more customers t-too!"

Hiku nodded at Makie. She always loved making new friends and enjoys having a summer job. "Yah, that would be great. If it is okay, what is your reason why you are working here? For me, I wanted to do this so I could help my mom with the payments for our house. My family isn't exactly the richest, more of that they are really poor. I don't mind it either, I always had fun taking these jobs," she calmly took a breath and smiled at her new friend.
She had never told anyone about her parents. She usually kept to herself in fear of being disappointed, but she felt great now that she told someone. This summer is going to be the best one ever, she thought happily. Without realizing it, she accidently tripped over a plushy and fell over. Before she realized, she was laughing hysterically. "Sorry I am sort of a clutz."

"Yah, that would be great. If it is okay, what is your reason why you are working here? For me, I wanted to do this so I could help my mom with the payments for our house. My family isn't exactly the richest, more of that they are really poor. I don't mind it either, I always had fun taking these jobs,"

Makie was silent. It made her feel sad... Makie's family wasn't rich, but they weren't poor, but... Hearing Hiku's story was kind of sad. But the brunette was happy she was trying to help out her family. That shows how close Hiku was with her family. It was sort of like a mix of emotions of both happiness and sadness that caused a small tear to drip down the small girl's cheek. When she realized she had cried, she quickly wiped away the tear. "S-Sorry... I-I-I was j-just... T-Touched... Sorry..." The brunette said, rubbing her eyes until the tears left. "I-It's s-soo sweet... B-But sad a-at the s-same time... I-I'm s-sorry... I-I'm such a c-cry baby..."

That and, Hiku made Makie think of her own family.... Grandpa... The small brunette, if you can believe, killed her parents when she was a child... When she was 4 or 5. Then, she lived on her own for half a year in a church, before her grandparents finally found her and took her in with difficulty. Then, when Makie was 10, her grandmother died... Giving her a special pendant that helped control her powers. But that was destroyed in the Star Tournament. As for her grandfather, he was living on his own at the shrine, helping people controling light/healing powers along with teaching priests/priestesses in training. Makie did train for a while, but she was never really focused, and developped her own fighting style.

When the tears had evapourated into the air, and Makie calmed down a bit, she thought of Hiku's question. Makie really didn't have a reason.. Well.. She heard you needed Rian Credits to catch some cute monters, but... Well... The brunette was used to working at the shrine, so... Maybe it was just because if she worked, it would make her grandpa proud, that she isn't just dancing her life away. He was always proud of her dancing and gymnastics, but he always warned about working hard at school, and doing chores so you aren't spoiled...

"Well... I think... Me... I-I-I don't have a r-reason.. I-I'm just... J-Just doing i-it to make g-grandpa p-proud..." Makie paused for a moment, smiling softly. "I-I dunno... B-But I g-guess g-grandpa will b-be happy t-to hear that I-I'm doing something o-other than d-dance a-and gymnastics." The small brunette chuckled a bit. Sadness and happiness lingered in the light chuckle. That was when Hiku went and tripped over aplushie. Makie did that a lot, but what caught the girl off guard was that Hiku was laughing hysterically. Shaking it off, Makie smiled softly and offered Hiku her hand to get up.

"T-That's o-okay..." Makie said, before suddenly realizing something... "O-Oh yeah... T-The r-reason I-I was a bit late w-was b-because I heard t-these w-workers talking about t-the paper... A-Apparently r-reporters are c-coming, and th-they w-want the stores to h-have a s-summer theme... T-Then I-I went and got some s-supplies..." The girl announced as she slipped the bright red book bag off her shoulders. The small brunette took the bag over to the cashier desk and emptied out the supplies which included... Paper, crayons, sciessors, flowers, flip flops, an deflated beach ball, rocks and sand. Hey! Makie also had a pair of summer dresses! One, was hers obviously, and the other was Misty's. Misty was actually much taller, way taller than Makie was, but... Misty was the size of a normal seventeen year old, so maybe the dress fit Hiku. It was a blueish, purpleish color with white outlines. There were also around 6 deflated palm trees... But... Of course, Makie wasn't a strong enough blower to blow it up, and she was broke befoer she could buy those automatic pumps... Although the deflated beach ball looked kind of old and in need of repair.

"Yeah... I-I know i-it m-might n-not b-be a-a lot but... I-It can get u-us started..." Makie said as she took two small flowers along with a pack of sand and put one pink flower in her hair and put the other flower in Hiku's hair. "W-We can l-look s-summery t-too! A-Also... W-We could t-try p-putting the s-sand i-in the display window, a-along with the p-pal trees..." Smiling softly, she skipped over to the display window, where she opened the pack of sand... No... Attempted. The brunette struggled to open it, before she realized something... Note, this took a while to notice too... Makie realized she was opening the wrong end of the bag. "Oopsie..." The brunette apologized to herself and easily opened the other side of the bag and began to pour the sand around the display window... Some of it ended up getting on the floor, but she'd clean that up as soon as possible... Err... When she could find the broom....

Hiku was baffled when she saw Makie cry. Her life never seemed tragic in any way or had anyone touched by it. Truth be told, in her opinion there wasn't a problem with her life in the least. She was always happy so that's what counts. This girl waited until she was done crying, because she had no idea how to reply. Then, Makie said how she was doing it for her grandpa to be proud of her and this make her think of life in a different perspective.

Without realizing it, she heard that reporters are coming and they wanted stores to be in a summer theme. "What?! They are really coming here, t-that's so cool," she yelled in a complete surprising tone to it. She saw all the supplies and smiled at her. "That's great! Let's make the best summer theme we can! I can blow up the palm trees for you." Hiku picked up the palm trees and started blowing them up. This took a lot more air out of her than she thought. By the time she was done with four of them, she had to take a moment to catch her breath.

She noticed that Makie was having trouble so she called out to her. "Are you ok?" Then she realized she was and was looking for the broom. "The broom is in the cabnit next to you, I think." Noticing they had a lot to do, she got back to blowing these things up. When she finished, she was exhausted and tried to hide that from Makie. "Can I draw some ocean scenery and some other beach scenes. I-I love to draw so I would like to help do that."

"That's great! Let's make the best summer theme we can! I can blow up the palm trees for you."

Makie let out a sigh of relief. "S-Sankyuu... I-I-I can't r-really blow that h-hard..." She said with a kind of guilty tone. Now... That was when she returned to the problem with the sand on the floor. The brunette, with no broom, crouched down and put all the sand on the floor, up onto the display window. Of course, there were still a bit of sand on the floor. And it kind of frustrated Makie that there was no broom in sight! I mean, couuldn't you just put it out in plave where people can see...? Okay... Maybe that might look bad for the customers... But, still.. Where was the broom? You could almost see the swirls in her eyes like the people in the anime who are dizzy or confused. That's when Hiku's voice was heard. Makie perked up and looked back to Hiku with her chocolate eyes.

"O-Ohh! S-Sankyuu H-Hiku!" The brunette said before glancing at the cabinet. The girl felt really bad that she was blind enough to not be able to see the cabinet... Ah well... Opening the cabinet door, she looked around. And sure enough the was a Swifer broom, next to a dust pan and other cleaning items. Taking the swifer, she began to swifer around the floor by the display window. Makie made sure every bit of sand was gone and the floor was clean. And as she cleaned she hummed a tune.. A soft, kind of sad, almost touching tune. And since Makie's voice was naturally small and fragile, it added to the soft and flowing humming. But she was no singer, and felt thristy after, but what could you do? Her back was also kind of sore though... Nothing a little frolocking about, decorating the store wouldn't cure! That's when Hiku's voice came again.

"Can I draw some ocean scenery and some other beach scenes. I-I love to draw so I would like to help do that."

"S-Sure H-Hiku! I-I'm not a v-very g-great drawer a-anyways..." The small Makie said, rubbing the back of her head. Putting the Swifer away, she went back to the supplies and looked at the palm trees. "W-Woah! W-Wow..! H-Hiku... T-This i-is a-awesome! I-I would h-have never been a-able t-to do this... A-Are you okay...? I-I'm sure i-it takes a lot o-of breath" The small brunette said while she took two palm trees, one under each arm. Waiting for Hiku to reply, the small Makie immidiatly ran back to the display, putting one palm tree on one side, and the other palm tree on the other side. The small girl took another pack of sand, and did the same thing for the other display window. This time, she made sure to not spill any ammount of sand onto the ground. Then she did the same with the other display window, placing the palm trees at opposite sides of the window.

"T-This is r-really fun... D-Don't y-you think so H-Hiko?"
PostPosted: Mon Jun 05, 2006 8:44 pm

Hiku turned and smiled at Makie in a loving way. "This is the best! I never knew I would have this much fun!" she said charmingly. Looking at the medium she started on the trees. Remembering she was a fast artist, she started drawing a beach and ocean with a beautiful sunset touching the ocean. First she started with pencil, then using a black marker to outline it, and then color it. The drawing looked almost perfect in her opinion and she added two seagulls flying to the admiss in the backround.
"How is this, Makie? I was thinking of doing one wall like this, another in a nightime scenery, and the last in a underwater perspective with marine life and maybe a mermaid in it. I dunno. What do you think?"

"This is the best! I never knew I would have this much fun!"

Makie nodded happily, she thought this was fun too! The decorating, and awesomeness! It was all so fun! The fun part was yet to come as well... going to her bag, she reached into the bag, into a secret compartment. In it was some money, enough to buy two custom Flakys. Or a bunny and a flaky. Going over to the cash, she looked at all the buttons. For the 'Open' button. After a few moments of her pointer finger floating above all the buttons, she finally pushed a button and-- DING! Pop opened the cash register and in went the money Makie had. Now she was completely broke. But hey- She got to dress two stuffed animals!

Skipping over to the area with all the stuffed animals, she picked out a flaky plushie and a bunny plushie. Next she went over to all the clothes... There seemed to be some new summer clothes... She decided the flaky would be a guy and the bunny can be the girl. The small brunette took a small, and cute bink bikini, and fit it on the bunny, and put a small little flower on the bunny. Then, she fit boxer shorts, sun glasses, and one of those flower necklaces. After, she skipped back over to the display window and placed them on two little stands, to show them off. Now... To make the place more flowery!

The small Makie went back to her bag and took almost all of the flowers and began to skip around, putting flowers everywhere! Around the stands, and around the cash register area, and she also put a few flowers in the display window. That was when Makie returned to the final time to the cash... Some rocks, the deflated beach ball and the summer dresses remained. She'll change into the dress later. The rocks she'll put in the display window, and Makie might attempt... Attempt to blow it up... Maybe...

The brunette then took most of the rocks and began to carry them over to the display windows. Big rocks and small rocks dropped along way, but she could easily pick them up after. She scattered all the rocks around each of the display windows. To make it look more like a beach. After, the small girl ran back and picked up all the rocks she dropped, and proceeded to put them in display windows as well. Then... Everything seemed to be done... Except the beach ball, the summer dresses, and the drawings.

"How is this, Makie? I was thinking of doing one wall like this, another in a nightime scenery, and the last in a underwater perspective with marine life and maybe a mermaid in it. I dunno. What do you think?"

"Ohhh!! T-Th-That's s-soo a-amzing!! I-It's so g-good! I-I love i-it Hiku!" Makie excalimed, waving her arms about in the air. "I-I wish I c-could d-draw like that!" The brunette then wondered where they could hang it. Probably on the front of the desk of the cash register. They could hang it up and every one could admire it! Wait... Makie did also remember there was a job request to make one of these... So... What was it again...? A Flaky... Silver, not pink... Makie believed there were silver Flakies in the back room...

So, small Makie skipped energetically to the back, where... "HOMG!! P-Plushies!!! P-Piggies, k-kitties, b-bunnies e-every where! Kyaaa!! S-So c-cute!!" The brunette clasped her hands together, staring at the mountains of plushies, her milk chocolate eyes wide with wonder. Then she shook her, remembering why she was here... But they're were all so cute! Her first paycheck was going here! "O-Okie... Blue... N-No... White... Gah! What color F-Flaky again... E-Erm... Oh!! S-Silver! A-A silver flaky!" There were so many, but they seemed to be sorted in order of what kind of plushie they were, so it didn't take long to find the piggies... Flakys... Although, now there were soo many flakys, Makie didn't know where the silver flakys were...

"T-Think. T-Think!" The little brunette said to herself, pacing around the mountain of boxes of Flaky plushies and mountains of flakys. After a few moments of pacing she found a silver plushie... Near the middle, which could possibly make all of the plushies come down... Okay... Slowly... Slowly... Slowly but surely... Steadily... Be cautious... Makie thougtto herself, holding her breath and drawing her ribbon back. Don't use too much force or it will come crashing down on you. Then, she flung her ribbon forwar, knocking the silver Flaky down. A few more came down with it, but luckily, it wasn't the whole pile... But there were enough plushies to suffocate the poor girl. Scrambling out of the plushie pile, she help on tightly to the silver one, and began piling the rest by the bottom.

"Phew..." Steadily, and cautiously, the brunette made her way back out to the main room. The brunette relaxed, turned on her heels and-- Fell. Tripped. Lost balance. Got floor burn on her wrists... But she was okay other wise. Her wrists were a fleshy red color, but it was bleeding thank god. Getting up, she shook her head, getting the dizzies out from her chocolate colored eyes. The whole time however, she did not let go of the plushie. "I-I-I'm okay..." The small girl managed out, walking slowly, slowly, towards the area with all the clothes.

"O-Okay... Rivera n-needed... Errr... Umm... O-Oh! The mermaid's t-tail... T-The purple one I-I think..." The small brunette said, reaching for the violet mermaids tail, and began to dress the Flaky in it. "A-And... F-Fluffy w-wings..." Wings... Wings... WIngs... Wings...! There they were! Little Makie reached up to get the wings and put them on the Flaky the only problem was... The tart... Where were the tarts...?

"E-Errr... U-Umm... H-Hiku... W-Where a-are the tarts...? F-For t-the Flakys...? I-I-I don't know w-where they a-are..." Small Makie said in a guilty fragile tone, letting her soft gaze fall to the floor in disbelief of herself.
PostPosted: Thu Jun 08, 2006 4:53 pm

Without lookin, Hiku said, "On the right shelf next to the ribbons." Then she turned to look at Makie. "Be careful Makie. It is kind of high up there." Since her drawings were done, she took the first one and started putting it up on the wall. Reaching a little too far for the stapler, she fell with the poster. "Aww, that hurt," she muttered. She got up and tried it again. This time she was able to get the poster up without falling again.

"Did you find the tarts, Makie?" she asked to see if she did. Looking around she didn't see her. Hiku got the second one with the underwater theme and started putting it on the wall, when she noticed she haddn't heard from Makie. Finishing posting the edges, she went to find Makie. "Are you ok?"

Ribbons.. Ribbons... Where are the ribbons... Makie thought as her chocolate eyes wandered throughout the several articles of mini clothing. Within moments, she found it. And Hiku was right.. They were up high... Very high.. "I-It's okay... I-I-I can get it..." Makie said, trying to figure out a way to get them. Why did they have to be soo up high anyways? Shouldn't they be within arms reach? So... To reach the tarts... Well... Makie wouldn't risk using her ribbon... Again... So, was there like, a foot stool around here?

The small brunette jogged over to the register, looking for a foot stool or something. All the stores she went to, there were footstools behind the counter. And what luck! There, in plain view, was a foot stool... But it wouldn't get her up high... Nonetheless, it would help. Taking the blue stool over to the place where the tarts were, she set down the stool and got on it. Although, she wasn't that far off the ground... Actually, one and a half feet off the floor... And she still couldn't reach the tarts.

"Curse y-you s-small legs.." Makie whispered under here breath, trying to extend her arms to the best of her ability. "O-Okie... This m-means w-war..." The little brunette climbed onto the table, and stood up. There she got more ground, and if Makie was an icnch taller she probably would have been able to reach it. The girl's spirits was low, but she wouldn't give up... Not until it was impossible to do this job. Which it wasn't, there will be a way for the small girl to get a tart for Rivera's request. Now... How to reach the tarts...? Standing at the edge of the table, she extended her arm as far as she could.

She almost had a tart! Just a little further! A little further and she would have gotten the tarts and she would have been pretty much finished the job! Come on Makie.. A little further. Reach! Reach! She thought, standing on the tips of her toes, her fingers just touching the tarts. Just as Hiku called out, Makie jumped slightly, getting the tart and falling backwards. Two tarts fell along with her. To prevent any broken bones or whatever from the fall, she flung her ribbon to catch a hold of one of the pipes on the ceiling. Makie fell with a little bump, nothing serious. But the two tarts fell on her uniform making the messiest thing on the planet. The one she had a hold of, seemed to be in perfect condition. Luckily.

"I-I-I'm okay... B-But... I need t-to g-go change..." The brunette said slowly, getting up slower then how she spoke. "I-I'll finish the r-request now though..." once on her feet, she proceeded over to the register where the Flaky plushie was. She placed the tart on top and smiled softly. Now for the note. Ummm... What did she want...? Err...

~ To be water is to ignore. But if ignorance is bliss, we'd all be very happy... Why can't we all be happy? ~

~ You Are My Sunshine ~

~ *~

The brunette signed in a small curvy cursive way, with some hearts around it as well. Now, to package and send it! Bending down, she took out a small box, enough to fit a plushie, and placed in the custom Flaky. Next, she closed it and attached the note to the box. Good! Now to send it... Prehaps she would put it out back? Ah... Maybe, yeah. Makie thought, slowly picking up the box and putting on the desk behind the register for all the on-holds and stuff. There! The job was done! Now, to focus on the other job...
