I've been trying to organize an idea that involves mining on Gaia. The original idea I was that you could mine for gold, because that makes sense. But the whole idea behind it was kind of silly and I had no idea how it would work out, in comparison to other alternatives like posting and gambling.
So then like 2 minutes ago while I was having a discussion about stupid petitions, I told him how there should be an armor called "X-Death's armor" as a joke, and it hit me. Why not also add minerals into the bunch. So that while you mine you can find: Gold ( money ), Silver, Iron, Tin, etc. which could eventually be turned into Plated Body Armor. It also sounds like a pretty decent barter as well.
I'd also like to note, on the Gaia World Map. There's a mine on it, makes me believe that something like this has already been underway.
What do you guys think?

It could be done similar to fishing. You buy pickaxes of different value and variety (Such as Strength or Endurance), and then pick a spot to mine.
There's a little energy bar in the bottome left corner of the screen, like in fishing. Wherever you stop the meter, it will determine how much strength you hit the mine wall with your pick-axe. Eventually, however, it'll break, and you'll have to buy more axes.
I like the idea. I like it a lot. Although I'm thinking of an idea to not make it so straight-forward...

They should, meaning I like that idea.
Its a better way getting gold.
Not all gaians are chatty and in results to them spamming so more games, less trolls...(in some matter)
Plus it sounds like one of the few games I would actualy play.
I hate fishing, the casino,, the cards and the town game. xp
That reminds me, I am still waiting for the godamn battle system too. rolleyes mad

Sounds like a pretty nifty alternative. It would have to be either a gamble, or a very weak source of income, though. Also, there should probably be a shop where someone could coin the gold, perhaps for a fee.

Exactly. Besides, Gaia's economy isn't gold. It's gold coins. The gold would have to be coined somehow if you wanted to use it as money.
