To avoid confusion, let's assume that the whole "Zod" conspiracy hasn't happened, no one is possessed by anything. Let's also assume that no one is in a relationship with anyone else. They have all graduated high school, and it is currently summer time.

INTRO. "Ah," Spoke Kevin quietly to himself, lifting up the daily news paper as he sat in the Talon. "It's good to be back." He smiled softly to himself, calling an old friend over who sat down across from him.
"I'm glad I finally feel like I've moved on after that whole situation with my father deceiving me into believing that I killed my brother. I can't believe it. Ever since then we've parted ways. Living a lie like that, it's really something that can't be forgiven."
His friend nodded in saddened agreement. It was indeed a sad situation, but it had passed now, and it was time to move on.
"I've decided that I'll stay here in Smallville for the time being, until I decide what I want to do elsewhere. I'll just take some courses at the state's university in the mean time, can't just be lazy." He laughed, picking up his cup of java and took it down.
"This really is a nice town.. when you look past all the crazy things that have happened."
Chloe walked into the Talon and noticed a guy sitting at a table with a copy of the planet in his hands. He looked oddly familiar but she couldn;t quite put her finger on it. She shook her head and walked up to the counter to go look for Lois.
As Kevin descretely looked over the top of his paper, he noted Chloe from the event that had happened before, and he wondered if she'd recall him. She was a friend of Clarks! He did, in fact, want to meet up with Clark again. He knew that Clark was beyond human too, and the alliance could benefit the both of them as they both could trust eachother with their secrets. He normally didn't tell other people, unless he felt they could honestly be trusted. But she was the key to finding Clark again.
He stood up and walked over to the counter in an attempt to initiate conversation along with order an Espresso.
"I'll take an Espresso, thanks, light on the whipped topping," he addressed to the person at the counter, then eyed Chloe. "Don't I know you?" He paused, pretending to search his mind. "A friend of Clarks!" He smiled. "I was never formally introduced. I'm Kevin." He extended a friendly hand out to the girl.
Taken aback she nervously took his hands. "You look oddly familiar. Did you go to Smallville High? I don't recall ever seeing you there. I mean i would know, i ran the school newspaper. So i have come in contact with just about every one here-" she cut her self off. She just remembered the inncodent where Clark lost his memory and she helped him try to regain his knowledge. She also remembered visiting a house where a man's son had been accused of robbing the talon (of all places). "So wait...Kevin Brady? The Talon robber?" she quieted her voice "are you technically soppose to be in here? I mean Clark mentioned how you weren't a bad guy and all, but isn't it like a policy or something that if you rob a place your not soppose to come back?" Chloe studied the guy who now looked fairly confused. "all this talking and i still haven;t introduced myself. Chloe Sullivan reporter for the Daily Planet" she said tapping on his copy of the latest edition "and more famously known as Clark Kents Best friend and Sidekick- not that he needs a sidekick or anything"
Kevin hesitated a moment at the whole robbing incident and feverishly looked down with a chuckle. "If it's any constallation, I repaid any debts I owed and did some community service for a while. You could say those were days of desperation and, well.. strife. It was different." He picked up his Espresso and took a light sip, it was still burning hot. "I didn't go to Smallville High, though. But I am Kevin Brady. I attend the community college here now, just taking a few courses to get everything on track. I believe I've read some pieces you've done, now that I think about it. I was just reading the Daily Planet's paper. That's very prestigous of you. Why don't you come sit with me? I'd love to hear about what's been going on here for the past few months I've been gone." He picked up the hot cup and took his seat back, the friend that had been there earlier had left, and he laid his paper down.
Chloe picked up her double expresso no foam soy latte up frm the counter and followed Kevin to the table he had been sitting at. "well," she said as she was sitting down "i haven't been around Smallville too much, when i am here i am usually visiting the Kent farm. But there have been a few other incedents that have brought me here. Such as, well anothr freak meteor shower that rained on our graduation parade, and incident involving a teen who was threatening to blow up smallville, and of course the great senator race. Not to mention a deal involving three Belle Reeve refugees who escaped. So I'm guessing you have been laying low for a while, I mean small town with not much to do, when you rob its single entertainment spot its going to be a buzz for a while, luckily we have freak incidents that often burry those incidents." she sipped her coffee and waited for a response.
"I heard about the Meteor Incident," Kevin sipped at his drink, recalling some previous events. "Second time, wasn't it? I wasn't around to witness it; I was away in Paris at the time. It's kind of weird. I would never think that a meteor shower could occur in once place two times. That must be even rarer than being struck by lightening twice in the same spot during the winter. But yes, I chose to lay low for a while. I figured with all the craziness that goes on in this town I'd be yesterday and a half's news. How did the senator race go, by the way? I assume that Lex Luthor would go for the candicy, but from what I know of the man, putting him in office would seem like the town would be handed over to a dictator."

"well funny you mentioned the canidacy. First there was a senator re-running, Senator Jennings. But an incident involving a night club in Metropolis brought him back to Smallville, the Kent Farm actually. After a lot of talking with his old Friend Jonathon Kent, to make a long story short Jennings dropped out and Mr. Kent presumed as Lex Luthor's rival. The election ended in Mr. Kent's favor, but" Chloe looked down at her mug with much disappointment on her face and she could feel her eyes swelling, but she took a deep breath and held it in. "That night Jonathon Kent died of a heart attack. It was so devistating, Clark was in a state of shock, i have never seen him like that. Clark is forever scarred by that night. It took a lot out of him." Chloe looked up at Kevin.

"Oh," Kevin quietly remarked, letting the moment be lost in deep sympathy, "That's terrible. And slightly ironic. To die the very day you've just won Senator, and of all people, beating Lex Luthor. Was it a coincidence?" Kevin shook his head. "No, I shouldn't budge in, it's not really my business. I'm sure Clark is devistated though. Heh, that's another thing we have in common then. Fatherless. Of course, fatherless on different terms." He took another long sip of his Espresso drink. "So then, since Johnathan passed away, did Luthor get the position? I'm guessing he didn't, seeing that Smallville hasn't burst into flames yet."

"Nope, it went to an unexpected cantidate, Mrs. Kent. That doesn't happen in Politics too much. But i think that Clark is upset about some of the package that comes with the whole Mrs. Kent as Senator, the extra prize of having Lionel Luthor at your house a whole lot more. Lucky for Clark im in Metropolis most of the time, so he has been spending more time with me. But i haven't talked to CLark today. I wonder where he has been lately?" Chloe said curiously. As if right on que her cell phone wrang. Whoa Chloe thought Clark must be using his super hearing to pick up that hint."Sorry. Mind if i take this?"

"Ah, Lionel, eh? It must be quite the interesting position, no doubt. I've only been to Metropolis a couple times, it's very hustle and bustle. I suppose I'm just too used to the ordinary living style of the primitive people of Smallville." He laughed and sat back, taking a nice long sip from the drink. "Oh, of course." He nodded in her quiery to answer the phone. "If it happens to be Clark, I'd love to meet up with him again if he's not busy." Kevin stood up and proceeded back towards the counter where he waited in line to get a danish or something small to snack on while Chloe took her call.

"Chloe Sullivan Daily Planet reporter" She answered her phone. "Oh hey Clark, guess who i am sitting hear having coffee with? Kevin Brady....Yeah he said he wants to meet up with you....well we are at the Talon right now. If you want to come by....ok great see you then." she clapped her phone Closed. "he will be coming by the her in about 15 minutes."

Kevin smiled descretely, pleasantly happy with the knowledge Clark would be coming by. "Great." He took a seat, splitting his Cinnabon-like roll into quarters. "Help yourself, it must be a hassle being on the clock all the time with your journalistic activities. It must be really pleasing to know that you have a nice, secure place to be in where you know exactly what you're doing and are as much passionate about it as you are willing to work to the clock. Very admirable, if you ask me." He munched at the roll. "I'm studying some more domestic issues; taxes, real estate.. all the like. I'll actually be starting with a real estate firm in the next few weeks, it's Smallville's biggest apparantly, and it's in affilliation with another one in Metropolis. Who knows, I could be the next city-slicker myself!" He laughed at the thought of it. "I thought psychology might be interesting after all the brainwashing I've been through, so I've taken up a course in that too."

"why thank you," Chloe said blushing a little. "my ife can be very hectic now, even though im not the raging journalist i wish i could be, i still do a lot of investigative reporting. i mean its my dream to become a woman like Ida Tarbell or Nellie Bly." Chloe appreciantly took a peice f the cinnomon roll, and listened to Kevin's bit about him wanting to become a real-estate official. "Real Estate seems pretty tricky, i have come across a few real estate people myself, they are very persuasive. I guess its a skill that all people possess, take the Luthors for example. they could not have made it to the billions without a little persuasive talk with people. If you do become a major City slicker, just make sure that you stop by the Planet and let me [and only me] give you an interveiw." she said with a wink.

"But of course," He said laughing and then glancing up at the clock on the well. "You'd think Clark would be here by now." He said with a smirk, taking another portion of the roll. "What's he up to now a days? Attending school around here, or working somewhere? I never really got to know the personal history of the guy, but he helped save my life. I probably wouldn't be sitting here before you today if it wasn't for him."

"well He attended Kansas A&M for a bit, but once well, Mr. Kent died he dropped out to help around the farm. With his mother being senator and all. I mean some one has to do it." She looked out the Talon Door. Clark must really be taking his time.
