This question comes up for me from time to time. I have even asked myself the questions when things aren't looking it's brightest. So why do you do what you do?
As for me, it used to be i want do something that other people can't, so I always strived to do my best at drawing. Now, I draw for my porfolio for college because I have finally decided to go into art as a career. I also draw for self-entertainment, stress relieve, and to combat bordom.

I draw for escapism. What I see in my mind I tend to draw, and recently Iv been having quite disturbing dream and visions that aint cutsy... its great ammo for drawing. I have stacks of sketchs that are just speedy ideas put down.

hm. thats a tough question which im sure i could ramble on for quite some time about. i'll make it as brief as i can. i first started drawing because i saw my mom's drawings (she's awesome) and was inspired. now its transformed into a passion for creation and making something out of almost nothing. i suppose i am facinated how such simple materials can become such beautiful works of art. i suppose another part could be that i long to be good at something, something that few people can do. i want to be proud of myself, and i want to be able to show people why im proud. i draw because it comes naturally, because i am an artist, i guess.
wow. that was corny....sorry about that.

I draw because sometimes it can cure boredom and relaxes me somethings too. The main reason i draw....i guess so i can improve on my artistic skills.

I have never thought about that actually. It's so natrual for me I've drawn since I was a kid. I brought home TONS of drawings everyday from child care. 4laugh
Nowdays I draw cause I want to make something pretty, often for someone else. I love to give art to people who apricitate it. Most important to me is that my boyfriend likes my work, he's my toughest critic becides me. (in a good way)

I draw because some of my art expresses how I feel, and what I like *points to picture in sig xD*. It also occupies me in the night when my sister is on alot. Plus, someday I wanna draw a master piece so I practice almost every night xD.
For some reason I draw good in the night...sometimes.

I draw because it's something that I really, honestly enjoy. I wouldn't give it up for the world. I'm a very visual person, so when it comes to creating characters I have to put the ideas on paper so I can really see it. I love being able to show people and feel accomplished.
All the people who are most important to me have always been encouraging, but still honest when I need improvement. The best feeling is when they're proud of me or I can draw something they want and get it just right.

i draw because i HAVE to or i get antsy. after doing it for so long it becomes a part of you, so much that you don't realize when you're doing it. i can't remember one day in the last couple of years when i haven't drawn something.

I love to draw, but I think I draw because I love to create. My art has always been in relationship to stories and comics or animation. The creation of a character or a pose right out of my imagination is really special to me.
Also, as magaly said, I kind of have to draw or I get withdrawal symptoms! (No pun intended) Heheh, or, at least, that's what my mom remarked on when we were in the process of moving to the other side of the US and I didn't have time to draw for weeks. I was depressed and antsy--and not because I was moving from a place I'd lived in for seven years.

I gess I draw because, when I was 5 and just started school, I drew diffrent from the other little kids, it seem like everyone was drawing stick people, and I put a little more effort into mine, I would try to add detail and depth, so it wasn't great, but it was still pritty good for my age. I gess seeing that I was so diffrent when it came to drawing I wanted to do it alot more, it made me feel, diffrent in a good way. My older cusion would draw many things that had much meaning to it, and I looked up to him for it. I wanted to do as well as he was. I gess when he turned to drugs I was very upset and I almost gave up, but I knew he wouldn't want me to do that. I want to be in Cartoon animation when I get older because, it seem no matter how sad I was or how much I cried, there was always a cartoon that would make me laugh and feel better.

For me, the answer is simple: Because I am moved, or want to move others.
