Ok, so my older sister (who was 16 at the time, me 14) had just gotten her navel pierced. I was at the studio when she got it done and saw the piercing immediately afterwards. I had always liked them, but never thought that I would get it pierced.
When I saw her with her newly pierced navel, I decided I was in love with them. Immediately a week after, I got an appointment to pierce my naval. I was so determined to get it that I rejected babysitting jobs for the sake of the piercing (I usually never reject them).
So I came into the studio, very shaky and nervous. I stayed for a few minutes in the waiting room until the piercer (who's name was foreign and I don't remember it whatsoever) came in. She needed to set up in her piercing room so we stayed for another few minutes.
I was getting extremely nervous and shaky, although I didn't want to back down now that my sister and her friend had brought me there for it. A receptionist gave me papers to fill out and sign, then I went in the room.
The room was extremely small. In the middle was a type of dentist chair, then on both sides were cupboards (which I assume is where she kept her needles).
The piercer walks in, barely talks to me, didn't explain a thing and marks the places on my belly where she will pierce, and gets me to lay down. Right off when the needle goes through (which is about 2 seconds) there's a lot of pain, then once it's through there's nothing but a bit of pulling. Since she didn't explain anything I had no idea what she was doing when, but I think thatthe whole thing took about a minute. So I was pierced and done with, I loved how it looked and I was in less pain than with my ear piercings.
So I just get up and walk out, show off to my mother and my sister and herfriends. Then all of a sudden I don't feel good. At all. The room starts spinning and I thought that I was going to throw up, so I run to the bathroom, my mother following me.
I pass out flat on the floor next to the toilet. I wake up with my mother looking like deer in headlights and to my sister's laughter. The piercing brought me some water from a nearby restaurant, then I get up and leave, to my sister, her friend, and my mother's laughter. They still keep reminding me. Amazingly I didn't get hurt at all event though I went down flat as a board.
I like my piercing. After I went up and all and I was fine I looked in the mirror. There was almost no blood whatsoever and it looked really good. For me there was never some redness at all. Right off getting up and siting down would hurt because it would move and push it up and down. I had no choice whatsoever in my barbell, but I don't quite like the hoops so it did end up good. Now looking back if I want another piercing, I don't think that I'll go back to her. Especially that she started her career piercing navels and eyebrows with the gun, she barely spoke to me, didn't explain a thing, and my friend who got it done there had to do it again since there was almost no skin and it was falling off. But luckily for me it worked out good. And my twin went and got hers done the next week.
So end of it all, it was a bad choice to impulsively go there after no search on the piercing or anything. But the only bad thing I got was passing out, which was nothing really. I didn't have much of an aftercare intruction either. Just to soak it. But I used the same antiseptic that I had used on my ears, and it worked very good, thank god. It was a really stupid choice to just go there, I never saw the needle whatsoever. She didn't show me, I have no idea how I got pierced or what happened to get it pierced. But I love it!
When she was piercing she would walk around the room, getting the barbelland the needle out, most of the time I had the needle in me, she was walking around the room. She also said that if I wanted to, she would pierce me with a gun. But my friend had it pierced with a gun, and it ended up to infect on her and it didn't look good. So thank god I opted to pierce with a needle, my 8 holes in my ears are pierced with a gun though.
Not one of my piercing infected.

You may have passed out because of low blood sugar, or because you were making yourself so nervous!
I would agree on not going to her again... piercers should be very friendly and willing to tell you all about the process, AND GIVE AFTERCARE! gonk ...and you were 14 and they didn't ask to see a parent? Definately not a good shop.
Oh well, glad it turned out okay though!

My friend who went to her had to get it pierced again since there was barely any skin pierced to begin with, it was going to fall any minute.

My first piercing was my navle. The piercer was very friendle and told me everything about the things that was about to happen. Since I was 15, my mother came along.
My second piercing was my labret. I went to a gue I chatted with on the net. He wasnt pr9offesional at the time, but he is know a part owner in a piercer/tattoo parlor down town.
My last two piercings was done at a friends home last summer, and they have not healed yet. They are not infected but just wont heal. Do it at a proper parlor.

Definately not a good shop. Oh well, glad it turned out okay though! Shes from Canada. There are different age limits there. Not sure what they are though. When I went to Canada( I was 16 ) to get my tattoo done on my back I passed out also. I didnt eat anything. Im not much of a early morning person ( meaning 10am is too early ). So I woke up, got in my friends car....and away we went. Then again it took 4 hours to do and I was in an awkward postion.

jadedxkitty999 I would have walked out at the first mention of a gun... Me too, no professional piercer uses guns, especially on body piercings. gonk
