The priest was greatly concerned for his charge. It was like looking back in time to the days when Kauta was just a cub, shouldered with the burden of what she was to become. Now as he stared down at their queen (who had yet to be corinated) Mteule was torn between loyalty to her as a friend and a guardian, and the distant composure he was expected to maintain as her advisor and one of the pride's priests.
"A bad dream, you say... was it like the others?" He questioned softly, allowing her to stay where she was, curled up at his side. He could not deny her, she stirred feelings in his heart that desptite making him a hypocrit, he was happy to endulge in once in a while...

The others. Yes, she thought, the dream had been exactly like the others. No sights. Just sounds, smells. And feelings. The stench of sickness. The painful cries of the dying, and the feeling of both terror and dread. The dreams hadn't bothered her since juvenilehood, until now.
She nodded in reply, oblivious to the feelings she was causing Mteule as she pressed closer to him for comfort.

The larger male's heart and resolve melted a little more. He made no improper moves (in his eyes) against her, but he was certain now that he had to figure something out. He couldn't continue like this, perhaps he'd "speak with" Kiva later.
For now he simply picked up a heavy purring, trying to soothe Kauta's shattered nerves. He let her lay close, resting his head on his paws near her own. This was the most that he could do for her, by the law of their customs. He was not allowed to offer more than this.
"It's alright, little one..." He said, just as he had when she was younger.
