Hello All,
I am aware that there are people from the Buddhist guild here too ^_^ and I was wondering if one practices Buddhism, is it ok ot learn about Hinduism too and pray to Hindu gods too?
Sorry if I sound ignorant. I know nothing about Hinduism so thats why I joined this guild.

Isn't it a requirement of both to find a discipline that you can adhere to?

In other words, find your own way to achieving liberation from the cycle of rebirth or reincarnation, which ever one it is that one believes?

Whatever floats your boat, I guess. It shouldn't matter what you believe as long as you aren't harming others.

Now I have a question that falls under this topic, regarding the worship of Hindu deities while being a part of another religion. I know you can't convert to Hinduism, so does that also mean you can't honor the gods if you aren't born Hindu?

Vertigo_Kiwi Now I have a question that falls under this topic, regarding the worship of Hindu deities while being a part of another religion. I know you can't convert to Hinduism, so does that also mean you can't honor the gods if you aren't born Hindu? You can, you're just not Hindu. Gods are really an arbitrary concept in Sanathana Dharma anyway; everyone can (and according to most people, does) practice Sanathana Dharma without praying to supernatural beings. Hindu gods are Indian gods, in my opinion, and primarily Indian communities are the ones that build temples to gods and actively worship in them.

Thanks for the answer, that cleared up some confusion I've had for awhile.

Sorry if I sound ignorant. I know nothing about Hinduism so thats why I joined this guild. i dont beleive it would be problematic but the issue of reincarantion is different from a Buddhist point of view then of a Hindus. Not to mention Buddhism stemed and came out of Hinduism.
