Is there a layer underneath quantum. New information suggests that there may be a layer of existents that governs Quantum. If this is true then there is no such thing as Quantum uncertainty. It will be possible to predict the whereabouts of a particle at any given time.
The applications for this are amazing. What do you think

You wouldn't possibly be talking about string theory, would you? Because that wouldn't get rid of the uncertainty principle. You can't; it's built into quantum.

I've actually pondered about that. Like Lyra-chan said, even if strings existed we still wouldn't be able to 'observe' them without uncertainty. The best we can do now with things billions of times smaller than atoms is observe them indirectly. ie. the existance of higher dimesensions would be a good supporter of string theory. Don't know how we would indirectly observe that though. It would take a plank's energy to open up another dimension (equivalent to the big bang), but we might make some smaller explosions. Does anyone have any info on recent string theory developments?

Does anyone have any info on recent string theory developments?

I heard a while ago that they thought they had a candidate for a cosmic string, but I haven't heard about that in a long while which makes me think it has been tossed out as a candidate.
