I have read and heard many times that the Lolita persona is to be polite, kind, passive/submissive, proper, well-behaved, etc. While I, myself, do not fit the whole persona as well as others do-- especially the passive/submissive bit-- I was wondering if you all do. What're your definitions of the Lolita personality?
Discussion: -What you feel Lolitas should act like. -What Lolitas shouldn't act like. -Your personality in comparison to the above. -Anything aforementioned. -Anything that you feel would add to this discussion.

I think a Lolita should be at least kind and polite, have at least some kind of manners and should not whore herself or himself out or prance around dirtying their clothing without care. I also think talking about disgusting subjects or swearing every single time the Lolita opens his/her mouth while wearing Lolita is a bit inappropriate because of the frillyness and how intricate the clothing is no matter what type of Lolita it may be. Especially Ama Lolita though.
As for what people may think how a Lolita should act, I do fit in with some but not all of the qualities. I am mostly kind and polite whenever I can and I am absolutely well behaved. I, however, can get a bit nasty sometimes if I have been offended greatly.

I agree with Kagome. whee No talking like a sailor when being Lolita. domokun AND LEARN TO CLOSE YOUR LEGS! That's disgusting when women, lolita or not, wear skirts and feel they can sit with their legs open still. mad That right there is not very polite and feminine at all.

Do you guys feel that Lolitas should act this way outside of wearing Lolita clothing as well? Do you practice this?
I'm curious. While I'd like to be a docile, quiet child, it just won't ever work. I'm too outgoing and daring. (However, this isn't to say that I'm unkind. I'm just loud and forward. I may speak what's on my mind too much.)

But I'm also a very outgoing and daring person. I speak my mind and nobody is about to push me around or say what they like without a comment back. It's just the type of person I am.

Also, I like people like us. We're no pushovers.

It's sad to hear or read how some people are taunted( or worse ) and they do nothing. Gladly being a lolita is one thing, but that's too far as how I see it.

You can tell people off without shouting or cursing - I am a bit shy myself, so I often use soft sarcasm or just calmly state my mind. This has got something to do with my personality, but generally, I view getting mad bad for anyone. Especially openly steaming angry because it usually just makes things worse.
I rather just act calmly in conflicting situations, calmly but strictly, but won't get agressive or overly rude if I can avoid it. I do not consider it polite, no for yourself or others, no matter whether I'm in my victorian attire or not.

It's a matter of their distinct character and what they're doing to you. I mean, some people have said they've been shoved, hit, kicked, etc. That's what I meant by I had no problem hitting somebody. You become rather blind and stupid when you're angry.

I fit that persona exactly, unless I'm with people I know particularly well, then I'm more outgoing. But with people I don't know, if I'm not completely silent (as a result of being too shy), I'm just polite.

My personality is right for lolita, I never swear and I am very very quiet and usually polite. Then again, this makes me too shy to have any friends, especially at my age, where everyones perpetually hyper...

One thing I've always found interesting about the lolita personality is that it's generally accepted to be polite, charming, etc, and yet if you've read Lolita, the real Lo was nothing like that. But I still think it's nice to be sweet, no matter what kind of lolita you are.
