Ok... as I've told everyone like eighty billion times, I've joined PAF. In an attempt to help out some of the people there, since a lot of PAF members are mods, Helpers, or ex-mods, and so I went to the GD.
Now... I'm used to the Q&A. Some people there are on their high-horse, but most of them are nice. I even tried the SF forum, which is a little worse than the Q&A.
The GD is whole different story.
First off, there aren't enough GD mods. A lot of them ask to be re-assigned to a different forum after staying there for a short period of time. The people there... I don't mean to flame, troll, or whatever, but the stupidity there is just legendary. gonk
The mods just don't have enough time to deal with everything there. They've even had to lax the rules (they don't react to everything you report) to extreme ToS infringments. If you held everyone to the rules of the forum, you'd probably have to report the whole ******** forum.
There's a GD mod that I used to dislike greatly, but now that I see what he has to deal with, I respect him! I used to think he was a complete jerk, but he's got to be! Those people are just.... Ugh stressed
This is Rosiel's Official b***h About People thread. mad
Anyone have any interesting stories about threads you see, you can post them here, too! All threads have their "interesting" moments. 2 days ago it was "Porn Day" in the chatter box. I found more porn than I did when I go looking for it. gonk
It's a wonder Mods aren't suicidal.
Kudos for them.

Ya, k. So I was at the GD. Again. I have fun there, I really do.
Someone reported this thread like... about an hour ago. It's still there. And people still keep posting in it.
http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13971057
As much as I don't understand people posting in a thread they say is bad and report... I liked one person's comment.Lia Alexandrios smile Good try. The GD, however, is wise to the ways of you.
We're pros at spotting porn.
------------------------------------------------------------ The GD's Official Sassy Pants. What's that on this post? Why I believe that's sass! That's just sexy. And very, very funny. At least, for me. heart

I venture into the GD now and then to catch a few laughs. However I always end up angry at some idiot or another... And another. I try not to go because I know it will only cause anger :3

It's the absolute pits in the metal forum...the mods have completely given up on it, and so regs like myself and my friends are sort of self-appointed mini-mods. The amount of n00bism and ToS-breaking really has to be seen to be believed...
I swear if I see one more "who liekz my chemacal romance??????" thread... stressed

Did you see the R.I.P. fad they had a day ago? That was great. Except, someone forgot to make a R.I.P. Bill Gates thread. I might have actually commented in that.
Ah, and did I mention that it was porn week?

Ah, and did I mention that it was porn week? We've definitely picked up on the R.I.P. Dimebag fad - so much so that there's a thread which is now close to 100 pages long entitled "I Don't Give A ******** About Dimebag", which started off as a rant against "RIP-ers" and is now what we've christened "The Bug Zapper Thread"...n00bs are drawn to it like moths to a flame and let rip, and are destroyed. We see it as keeping the pool clean. =3

Well, I've spotted another new fad. Instead of saying how much emo people suck, they're making threads about how cool emo people are, or how they're sad, sad little people. Or something. Can't these people make up their damn minds?

Quite. The "Why Don't Some People Like Metal?" thread is another breeding ground for morons to give their half-arsed opinions..."Cos dey SUK!!", etc, etc.
Nothing reinforces stereotypes quite like the metal forum. sweatdrop

I avoid those threads, like "omg rap suxors". I personally don't like rap music.... but I really don't care if someone else does, and I'm not about to argue with them if they do. It's a matter of preference, and people just don't seem to understand that, at all.
At least, in the GD.

Yeah, people need to realise that they have no right to tell other people what to like. I steer clear of the GD nowadays, I just stick to the guilds. The only forum I'll ever go in is the metal forum, because all my friends hang out there.
And when I need some n00bs to destroy. razz

I stick to the GD and Q&A, mostly, although I've been at the GD more recently. The Q&A's in good hands, plenty of PAFers on to help people. I just get in the way.
I just want to clean that place up. I haven't been to the ED in forever, either. I'm scared to go in. >_<;;
I've never been to the Metal Forum, though, and one of my favorite music "types" happens to be Black Metal. Where can I find this wonderous place you speak of?

It's a subforum of the Music forum, and it seems to think that Dimmu Borgir is not black metal...I don't know if you think otherwise, but personally I don't think there's anything else they could be.
Speaking of metal, I bought Iron Maidens' Rock In Rio live double-album and Type O Negative's Bloody Kisses yesterday...Rock In Rio gives me happy goosebumps. ^^ heart

If they don't think that Dimmu Borgir is Black Metal, they don't sound like people I want to speak to. whee

A lot of people there are extremely elitist. One of the most commonly-debated topics is whether or not Cradle of Filth are black metal or "extreme gothic metal."
Personally I don't think it makes that much of a difference. I love them either way. heart
