My doc (as usual) won't give me a straight answer on this. What's normal for feeling fetal movments. I'm 19 weeks along with twins and I don't feel it all the time, just a couple times a day. At my last appointment my doc said "that's fine" but wouldn't give me any more details.

Usually, doctors start asking you to keep count of fetal movements at about 28 weeks. I am only 24 weeks, but I am going ahead and doing them.
The general rule is to pick the same time each day.
Technique -Patient self monitors kick counts daily at home -Count performed at same time every day -Choose a time of day that fetus is most active -Consider performing after stimulating activity After walking or Exercise -Lie on left side in comfortable location -Count fetal movements to a count of 10 in one hour
I've been told if you do not feel 10 movements in 2 hours (some websites say 4), to call your doctor or go into the ER.
Also, if your doctor says it's fine, ask another doctor. Chances are it IS okay, that's what they do for a living. Being you have twins, they might not have as much room to toss around as just have one baby in there. If you feel your doctor isn't giving you straight answers, GET another one. If you don't feel comfortable, it's your right as a patient to find one that you do, don't feel bad about it!

I'm only 16 weeks and already telling my doc about it... she said not to start actually making a note of it for a month or so.

They must have been just warming up, or as you said not able to be as well before but they sure can now. Especially who ever is on the right side *wince*

I didnt find out about this process until after my son was born nobody ever told me to keep track of it. This early the movements are probably really light and not direct more like when they are crawded together and shoving. I would definatly try to keep track woth twins though and see if you can identify the activity in multiple places.
