The sun hadn't fully risen by the time the whole Russo family was up and about. Running water could be heard throughout the house as its inhabitants scrambled to shower while there was still a drop of hot water left. By the time Tea got his turn the water was already ice cold and breakfast was being made in kitchen downstairs, but it didn't bother him. He was in and out in about fifteen minutes, better than his usual hour, and didn't waste any time before getting dressed. He had remembered that Tyyne was coming over to go to church with them, and he wanted to be ready when she got there. For today he had chosen a fairly simple cream shirt and grey slacks, even allowing Ul to put on a similar grey tie. His sleeves were rolled up to the elbow, but he still looked pretty good. More formal than he usually did at the very least. By the time he got downstairs most of breakfast was on the table, though Ul, Ilori, and Isaura were still busily working around the kitchen. The rest of the family was scattered around the living room and den, going about whatever peaked their interest. Jack and Tangia were bickering about therapy, Liang was carefully painting her makeup on with an unbelievably tiny brush, Mora was wrestling with Roscoe, and the rest that weren't cooking were wrapped up in some travel channel show depicting stunning white beaches.

Tea wandered around between the kitchen and the front hall, eventually being kicked out onto the front porch for getting in the way of a fast moving tray and nearly spilling oatmeal everywhere. Now, as he waited nervously, he rocked back and forth on a whitewashed rocking chair older than he was. Winston was snoring by his side, occasionally wagging his tail on stretching his paw in a sudden puppy dream. It was a nice morning, not too hot or cold, considering the trees around the property blocked most of the breeze. The horses were kicking up dust in the corral and the rest of the dogs were barking up a storm, but Tea still managed to half doze off in the chair waiting for her.

Tyyne had been up for quite a while as Lena finally managed to get the car out of the garage. At the moment she was very busy with Nobu and his problems with his girlfriend and so Tyy knew pretty well that her mother didn't have much time to talk with her about...girl things.

Anyway she had volunteered to drive her towards Teagan's house and had told Tyyne how to dress. Her clothes weren't so different from her normal ones. A long white skirt reached up to her ankles and a light blue blouse accomplished her usual choice of colours. Her hair was neatly arranged in braids and decorated with flowers. Tyyne should have been pleased with herself, but she wasn't. What if Teagan wanted her to wear make-up ? She had no idea about all this stuff !

"Excited, honey ?" Lena asked as they stopped in front of their destination and Tyyne just nodded silently. "It'll be fun, believe me." Tyyne opened the car's door with a shy smile and moved towards the front door. She rang the bell.

Tea had stirred at the sound of a car stopping, but thought it was just Dee or Duncan coming over for the weekend. The porch stretched around the side of the house and the particular spot he had chosen to nap in was around the corner, out of view of the driveway and the front door.

Winston however, got to his feet and padded around to the front door to investigate. The oldest of the dogs, he was more than a little protective and with his large size, could be a bit intimidating. He simply stood and watched from the corner as the blonde girl got out of the car and started walking up to the door. When she range the bell though, he went nuts. The black lab started to back and growl, stepping a bit closer. He didn't like people he didn't know, especially if they were alone.

"Oh shut up," Tea mumbled when the dog nearest to him started freak. The did that a lot, so he didn't really care much. It was when he noticed that someone had rung the bell that he jumped up. She was here! Family wouldn't have rung the bell, they wouldn't have even knocked, just stormed right in. "Winston, heel!" he shouted, getting out of his chair and walking around to the front part of the porch. His throat froze up when he saw her, she looked gorgeous, and his ears perked up. After a few moments, he managed to put his thoughts into words, "I'm sorry, he overreacts sometimes." The black dog meanwhile, had lay down, though he was still growling quietly.

As Tyyne heard some footsteps on the porch she turned around with a smile, but as a barking dog stood in front of her she started to scream. Backing away a bit she stared at the black lab and clinged to the small purse she was holding. Her golden eyes were wide, but as she noticed that the animal didn't plan to attack her and Teagan's voice could be heard she told herself to calm down.

How ridiculous. How embarrassing. Tyyne was sure she could have turned around and cried, but she didn't. "Um...hey Tea." She smiled a bit and looked at the dog again. He seemed calm now. "It's alright, I just didn't see him, you know ?" Hopefully he didn't think she was a coward now. Were you allowed to scream before going to church ?

Tea crouched down and scruffed the fur on Winston's head, scratching just right behind the dog's ears. The beast stopped its growling almost immediately and started to bay, distracted by the affection. Tea didn't seem to mind the hair that was getting on his shirt, but he had a feeling his mother would. "He's a big softie," the lemur teen explained, offering one of his hands to Tyy, "You can pet him if you want, his bark is bad but he's got no bite."

Secretly, the boy was glad he had been napping out on the porch, as the doorbell was usually ignored in the Russo household. He could smell wonderful smell of baked apples wafting out of the house and along with it the not-so-pleasant smell of bacon. Quickly recovering a smile, he set one ear down against his head, flicking his tail cheerfully, "Most people don't see him, it's better with Rosa, she stands out at least." He paused for a moment then blushed a bit, "You look really nice Tyy."

Tyyne didn't dare to kneel down because of her new white skirt, but waved at Winston. She leaned towards the dog a bit, but gladly her blouse was not so open-heartedly as it could have been. So all the important part of her upper body weren't visible to Teagan as she did so.

The pale hand touched the soft fur and she wondered if it was a good thing when Winston liked her. Perhaps Teagan would like her better as well then ? She blushed a bit and as she heard his comment it even became worse.

"Thanks...you think it's alright for church ?" The girl fiddled nervously with her purse.

"It's perfect," he said, standing up to brush a bit of the dog fur off. Winston simply yawned and fell asleep, bored of the attention in what he considered early morning. Tea was a bit concerned that his mother would make a bit fuss over everything, take pictures and pinch his cheeks and all the embarassing things she usually did, so he was going to be extra careful not to draw a lot of attention to himself.

Smiling, he guestured to the door, "How about we head inside, breakfast's probably already on the table." He didn't mention how large his family was, she probably wouldn't have agreed to come if she'd known, and he knew that you had to be fast with meals if you didn't want to end up eating the health food and getting dish duty. Not that they would make Tyy help with the dishes, it was just that he didn't particularly want to. Figuring he'd better give her a bit of a warning, he added, "Well, three tables."

A very relieved sigh escaped Tyyne's mouth as he said that the outfit suited the occasion. "Oh I'm excited to meet your family." In fact she was horribly nervous. What if they didn't like her ? She always got so damn shy around people she didn't know and she didn't know his siblings at all.

Three tables. Her face became uncertain, but then she forced herself to be brave. "Alright." She had had a lot of siblings herself, she knew how it was. The Eden played nervously with a strand of her blonde hair. "I'll follow you."

Oh, right, she didn't know the way around. Tea pulled the door open and started to gesture her inside. Almost immediately though, a mohawked demon came barreling out, slamming into Teagan as he went. The lemur stumbled and almost fell, but caught his balance and turned to the now panting teenager with a frown. "Real polite Duncan. You hit me, and you woulda hit Tyyne!" His face was red, a bit embarassed that the first of the 'family' Tyy would see was one so... Different. At least it hadn't been Jack.

Duncan simply stuck his tongue out, straightening himself up when he spotted the unfamiliar girl. "Shut up squirt," he snapped, going about trying to wipe the jelly off his tail, "You'd be running too. Jack decided to throw a fit. He's already wrecked most of breakfast, guess we'll be eating out today." Catching his breath, he showed a crooked smile, pointing to Tyyne, "Who's the girl?"

Tea's shoulders sank, "He did? Great..." Just what he needed today, another morning where his mother would be mad at Jack and taking it out on everything else. Well, hopefully she wouldn't start yelling. Noting the question only a bit, he forced a smile," This is Tyyne, she's another Eden, like me." He couldn't hear anyone screaming, so it seemed alright to go inside. Opening the door and seeing nothing else charging out, he nodded, "Let's try this again."

Tyyne was about to make a step inside and smiled at Teagan's politeness as he was hit by a something. Well, a someone to be more precise. Obviously this person called Duncan was a brother of some sort. Oh she had to make a good impression, although he looked a bit...strange.

The teenage girl dropped a curtsy and just hoped she looked as nice as possible. "Hello." She wasn't sure if she was supposed to offer her hand, but as it seemed she didn't have to great him like that. Secretly she wondered about this Jack, but as she noticed Teagan's expression on this matter she decided not to ask.

"Sure, Tea." With an elegant step Tyyne moved inside and looked around. Her pale hands were still clutched tightly around her purse.

As they started to go inside, Duncan nodded in acknowledgement to Tyyne and then quickly ran to the driveway. Turning back for a second, he yelled, "Tell Ul I'm spending Sunday with my dad." He didn't seem particularly happy for his younger brother, and with a little smile, he hopped into one of the four cars parked there, "And I'm taking your car, hope you don't mind." The engine revved and before Tea could say anything, the seventeen year old was gone.

This day kept getting better and better. Instead of chasing after the car and making a scene, Tea just let it go and followed Tyy inside, "Guess we'll be riding with the family." There was a loud crash heard in the kitchen, followed by the shriek of Liang screaming. Tea didn't seem bothered by the crash, but the girl's shriek set him off. "I'm sorry things are going so bad Tyy," he sighed, pointing to the now-empty living room, "How about we wait in there? It should be safe."

Tyyne watched the scene silently and wrinkled her nose. It was one of those moments when she wondered why they hadn't got a dad of some sort. Quickly she wiped the thought away and looked at Teagan again. "I don't mind." It was the truth. Tyyne wasn't a usual teenage girl who hated to be around parents.

The Eden stepped into the living room and looked around. They were completely alone in here. It seemed like in one of those movies where the people were kissing on the couch and...
Tyyne blushed and turned around again giggling a bit embarassedly. "Oh...I know how it's like, I have siblings too."

Tea smiled, at least she wasn't an only child, that would have been bad. He sat down on the couch, leaving a spot for her beside him or on the other side, whichever she prefered. "My family's insane, at least Aunt Ting doesn't live with us anymore," he joked, fumbling around for the TV remote. While his siblings were sorting out their mess he and Tyy could find something interesting to watch, maybe. A knock on the frame of the doorway drew his attention, "Huh?"

The noise had come from a small girl with tears welled up in her eyes. She bit her knuckles anxiously, not entirely comfortable being around this girl she hadn't seen before. "Brother Teagan," she whimpered, tucking her wings up against her sides, "I'm sorry to interrupt, but may I sit with you?" Her feathers were ruffled and she looked like she'd been in a little fight, so Tea didn't protest as she sat down on the floor in front of him, laying her head back onto the couch. Gathering up a bit of courage, she showed Tyyne a faint smile, "Hello ma'am. My name is Liang."

Tyyne felt insecure, but after calling herself a coward she dared to sit down beside him. Still not quite close, but as far away as it made her feel comfortable. "Some of my siblings moved out too. My brother made his girlfriend pregnant..." The girl blushed horribly and looked at her feet. Ouch, probably she shouldn't have told him.

As the girl entered Tyyne felt a bit of relief, but also a strange jealousy of some kind. Still the girl was very cute and very pretty. Well, the Eden herself thought that she was far too colourful, but she knew that others regarded this as very beautiful. Looking at herself she felt discomfort. She had to look boring.

"Hello, I'm Tyyne." Quite insecure she looked at Teagan. What was she supposed to do now ? "You look a bit sad, are you ok ?"

Hating seeing his favorite little sister upset, Tea leaned over a bit to rub her shoulders. The action didn't seem to be to relax her joints, but more to mentally calm her down as it seemed to be doing. He smiled to Tyy, "Liang hasn't been here for very long." Pausing, he turned to look back at the winged girl, "You want to talk to Tyyne, she's a nice person. You're just kind of shy, right?"

Liang nodded, wiping the tears from her eyes with the back of her hand. She had been upset, but not because something sad had happened, but because she had let herself be afraid. Taking a breath, she decided it would be rude not to answer, "I'm alright, I was just scared is all." Looking back, she frowned at Tea, "Jack cut Mother. Not bad, but it still scared me. So I came in here. I hope I didn't ruin your plans." Turning back to Tyyne, she smiled, "Were you going to watch a movie? I could go get one. Mother said it might be a while before we go for breakfast."
