Check out this article...
This lady, Christa Titus, has no idea what she's talking about:
- spells "Kaoru's" name wrong - spells "Dir en Grey" wrong also, or at least the capitalization - twist facts, making it almost sound like Dir en grey 'wants' to be like Metallica, or even Linkin Park! - comparing American music to Japanese music and mixing background/history like it's parallel - not even really a professional piece of writing, and really much too biased
...Feel free to name more!
(I wish people would research more before writing, and how in the world can this pass through the publishing?) -_-
*But, at least the picture was good...* X'DD
<33 So any thoughts or comments on this?

alright, so I know that because Dir en grey is new to non-jrock fans, they're gonna spell things wrong. . . but these spelling errors have gone on for TOO long ~___~; I seriously have the feeling that they might explode god forbid they do 2 minutes of research for spelling. I want to some how get an article out there that half america can read ><; about Dir en grey's spelling, and about the band. You can't compare them to american music itrhewat3uhbt it's just not done x__x Do they look'70's glam' anymore anyways -_-;? I think not.

Well, I didn't really find it biased against Diru. They didn't say they were bad, they didn't say they were good. Plus, they weren't exactly "comparing" the band to those other English bands, they were just giving examples of similar songs so readers understand the variance in the new music.
But... "80's glam" style? What's that? What a coward writer, 80's glam does NOT describe Dir en grey, not in the least.
And spelling errors... well... rolleyes - Dir en grey - Withering to death. - ITOSHISA HA FUHAI NITSUKI - Jesus Christ R'nR - Kaoru - -SAKU-
Also. About Kyo not singing in English? He does... I mean, "CLEVER SLEAZOID" is completely in English with the exception of one line. "Hydra" also has many English lines. And isn't the six Ugly version of "Byou '' Shin" in English, too? mad

Yosh! There's no comparison, and if there was, it wouldn't be fair... How could it? Americans and Japanese have different definitions when it comes to many genres even, which is probably why this author decided to categorize it so loosely...
But even if they didn't say it exactly in the words that "they were bad" or whatever, the direction of this article cannot be denied to be giving a fair perspective to readers who have never heard of Dir en grey before. As a magazine, these kinda articles are supposed to give a true and factual information presented to the reader and let them make their own decisions about the band, not make it for them!
(I completely have no problem with her disliking this band, just don't go bashing it, which is what I strongly felt she was doing when reading this... on top of trying to ignore each time "Kaoru's" name was spelt wrong...)
--------------------
<33 I luff Kyo's English...!
*3*; -deep breath- O ok and on a completely random note, speaking of Kyo, this chick has got to be the best Kyo-cosplayer I have ever seen! I swear, her features are even a little bit similar to his, which is actually a little eeire, thought I was actually looking at Kyo in some of her pictures... you have to check this out.

Bottom of the death valley has tonnes of engrish D: She sucks. Excuse my typing, my nail polish is wet still D: anywho, i HATE the way the americans do that, like that interview an american women did with Diru, the amount of times they laughed at her, she had no idea what was going on. American music is nothing like japanese D: and how the hell can you spell Kaoru wrong?? DD: its only 5 letters long, honestly. DD: Like those frikking girls who kept caling him 'Kai-arh-ru' and they even went to a concert, the didnt deserve to DD: Damn 'fans' like that Thats all i can think of to whine about at the moment...D<

X'DD -flails-
I know, at least the picture was decent, other than that, I don't think I could name another good thing I liked about this article... ...And I totally feel your pain, everytime I read Kaoru's name spelled wrong, it was like someone stabbed me a little, hurts.
O and I just gotta say, I luffed your "whining" Holmol! You managed to express something that always bugged me into such simple to understand senteces... I probably would have rambled on inarticulately for...? I dunnno? About, two pages and not have been able to get anything across.
Feel free to whine more later when you think of something then! ^x^
(I hate it when people throw around the word "fan" so loosely, it makes the whole band cheap that way...)

Alright. They shouldn't be spelling names/words wrong like that, but it's to late to fix it now.
Seriously I think people need to get over the fact that Dir en grey gets compaired to english bands. It's not that bad! Music is music, and I really don't think that just because Metallica, or whoever else, sings in english they aren't good enough to be compaired to Dir en grey! Metallica is a great band, and they DO sound a tad similar in some songs. The style of music IS sometimes the same. I think it mayy have ben Spiled Milk that I heard for the first time, and the first part of the somg sounded like something Metallica would make. Is it wrong for Dir en grey to be compaired to one of the biggest metal bands? Like when I was saying if you like Diru, you may also like Korn people have almost flipped out! WHY?! They're all good bands with heavy music, thats why the get compaired! Get the hell over it!
As much as I'm not a fan of this article, I'm not going to sit here and completly rag on the writer for it. Spelling SHOULD have been fixed, but like I said, it's to late now. Opinions should have been left out a bit more. But things like being compaired to english bands, or anything like that, isn't wrong! Language has nothing to do with style of music.

Tooru_Niimura People need to research their background and stuff before they start publish dumb-s**t that fans are going to notice. evil You're right. D:< I can't believe that article, at all! That woman ought to learn how to research properly, and learn how to present both sides. She's only going on the "negative" side of Diru- what about the good stuff? What about the fact that they are unique, and trend-setters and almost like role-models! (Well, Shinya is. He doesn't smoke. 3nodding ) But... GYARGHH, this article totally irks me!! evil
