Ohkay so my boyfriend and I had sex almost two months ago.
We used a condom.
I took the Morning After Pill afterwards just in case.
I got my period last month.

But I just need some reassurance that i'm not pregnant.

Thanks.

Odds are high you aren't pregnant, but we can't tell you that for sure. Hun, the odds of you being pregnant are REALLY low, though (like... in the less than .01%, I think). If you're THAT nervous, take a pregnancy test.

I know how scary it is to not know for sure. Chances of you being pregnant are very low, but not impossible. My friend was on the pill and had periods the whole time she was pregnant all three times, so you never know for certain. I know when I was pregnant, something felt different. My body felt different. By two months, my boobs were feeling really sore, and I was getting morning sickness. Has anything else changed in your body to make you think you might be? Feel free to PM me if you want help or support!

I've gained a bit of weight. But that's just probably been to my lack of physical activity of late wink

And it was two months ago, so if I was should I know by now? Would there be anything really obvious?

The thing about pregnancy symptoms is that they're so vague. You may get all, some, or none of the symptoms and they also fall into a plethora of other diseases/disorders.

It's highly unlikely, but I have known people ot continue to have "periods" and were pregnant.

The only thing really obvious that is going to tell you otherwise is a pregnancy test. If an over the counter one isn't going to ease your mind, go to your doctor and have a blood test, it's the most definitive way to know for sure.

Update:

I've had my period twice since then

But i'm just over a week late for the third.

I worry myself sick about it all the time, could it be nerves?

Have you gone to the doctor?

TAKE A TEST. Period. By now it'll be mostly accurate (very small chance of a false negative.) It'll calm your mind, and if you have no other pregnancy symptoms, I wouldn't worry. It's very easy to stress yourself into a missed period. I did with a pregnancy scare.

It could very well be the nerves. Stress can delay your period. I know it's hard, but try to relax. I have had myself worrying about the same thing once or twice, but the chance of you being pregnant is extremely low.

Thank you, as soon as I stopped worrying, I got my period.

Should I still get a pregnancy test, or since i've had my period three times, know that i'm not pregnant?

When in doubt, go to the doctor. If you've taken a OTC pregnancy tests, and you're worrying still and feeling sick, set up an appointment. The most definitive test is going to be a blood test and it could rule out any other problems.

How correct would the OTC tests be though by this time?

I would check the box because the accuracy varies by brand, make, and also when you performed the test.

Quote:
How accurate are home pregnancy tests?
Home pregnancy tests (HPTs) can be quite accurate. But the accuracy depends on many things. These include:

How you use them - Be sure to follow the directions and check the expiration date.

When you use them - The amount of hCG or pregnancy hormone in your urine increases with time. So, the earlier after a missed period you take the test the harder it is to spot the hCG. If you wait one week after a missed period to test, you are more apt to have an accurate result. Also, testing your urine first thing in the morning may boost the accuracy.

Who uses them - The amount of hCG in the urine is different for every pregnant woman. So, some women will have accurate results on the day of the missed period while others will need to wait longer.

The brand of test - Some home pregnancy tests are more sensitive than others. So, some tests are better than others at spotting hCG early on.
Many HPTs claim to be 99% accurate on the day you miss your period. But research suggests that most HPTs do not consistently spot pregnancy that early. And when they do, the results are often very faint.

In a 2004 study, researchers tested the accuracy of 18 HPTs sold in retail stores. They found that only one brand consistently detected the low levels of hCG usually present on the first day of the missed period. This was the First Response, Early Result Pregnancy Test. The other tests missed up to 85% of pregnancies on the first day of the missed period. Most tests accurately confirmed pregnancies one week after the missed period.
