part of the reason i was so adiment about making a music thread is because when it comes to christian music outside of relient k and church hymns, i'm clueless, so i want everyone who sees this to post one good christian group that you like, preferably the first christian band you got into, unless taken, no more that one band please, so everyone can go, and tell what type of music they are (contemporary, rock, rap, etc.), and also a website you can go to to listen to them (and if you don't have a website you know about, search them up online)

Well, Relient K is more on the poppy / punk side of rock, but okay...
Band: Demon Hunter Type: Christian Rock and Heavy Metal Website: www.demonhuter.net
Heaviest of the heavy metal. Some screamo stuff. Basically, if your mom is only a fan of the mainstream, you're going to have to go and buy some of those isolatiopn headphones, because she'll hate. So maybe that's another perk about them, lol. Yeah, those new to heavy metal, step off for a little wile or be sure you have the lyrics with you if you want to understand it.

Band: Pillar Genre: Christian Rock and Metal Website: www.pillarmusic.com
If you want loud and heavy, but still understand the lyrics, this is a band for you. They're pretty hardcore and the main theme behind a lot of songs is "resist the things of the world; fight for what you believe in." They've come out with some good Christian "battle anthems." Definitely one of my favoreite bands of all time.

Band: 3Nailz Genre: Christian Rock Website: www.purevolume.com/3nailz and www.myspace.com/3nailz
These guys have some awesome lyrics and music... if you can find it. They aren't too big. It's a small band based out of South Carolina. I believe there are songs you can listen to on both sites. Really powerful stuff. It's the only thing I'm listening to right now, and it will really get you into Christian music if you're not already.

Obviously I represent a certain "sect" of Christian music. I don't know much other than that type of music. I can't sing even one hymn all the way through, both because I don't like them and can't sing them the way they deserve to be sung, and because I just don't know all the words to any of them. I can move those extra posts to "Teh Alternative Thread" if you'd like, so it doesn't interfere with your flow. In fact, I think I will.

I listen to alot of MxPx. It can be found at www.mxpx.com. They have a fun sound, and although not all of their songs are about God, they're very uplifting.
