Eh, we'll continue to see this sort of thing so long as Wicca and other Neopagan traditions remain closeted and in a minority. The mainstreamization of Wicca has greatly helped it overcome some of these misconceptions, but they are still out there in larger sections of society than would be desired. Plus, even if they DO understand, we need to understand that to some people, Wiccans and Neopagans will *always* be Satan worshipers because honoring any other concept of deity other than their own is Satanic. That's just how they see things. I find it advisable just not to take offense to it.

Well, if he's asking for advice on a relationship from a TV show host instead of trusting his own judgement and heart, I'd say that the relationship was going down hill anyway.

throw your knowledge in his face. if you are watching one of thier live things call in and tell them the truth but also have a credible source to back it up just in case they pass you off with a "yea right crazy satanist"

I was watching the 700 CLub, just out of pure boredom and I like to see what other religions are like. I got annoyed at certain parts, yet some parts were...interesting.

A lot of Christian's hate that show too... we make fun of it all the time at my Bible study- it's so ridiculous! It's also a pretty bad representation of Christianity as a whole.

See...that's why I don't like the 700 club. I don't like anything that has to do with Pat or Jerry Falwell or any other scary Christian Fundie for that matter.
and thelovelyLIZ, I'm a Christian too! And I also get quite offended at times with the 700 Club. And it is a horrible reprensentation! >.<

MOD66 evil evil evil evil I HATE PAT!!!! If you have ever watched that show and are not Christian you might understand me. I just watched it a minute ago and I'm really fricken pissed off. Some one wrote in an email saying that their GF was Wiccan and he was a Christian. (NOTE: I�m not Wiccan I�m an electic-pagan) the questioner asked if he should break up with her because she was Wiccan. He still loved her but was concerned with her religious choices. That I understand. Any one want to guess what pat said next? Leave her now you might love her but loving some one that worships Satan means you love Satan. GRRRRR!! First of as many people her can probably say wiccans DON�T worship Satan!! Ignorance like that just pisses me off... evil

Evangelists like that need to be stripped of thier air time. They make millions upon millions with biased self-interest and a closed mind to any faith other than thiers. Here's why: It's not about faith-defending. The more Christians that turn to him, the more money he makes. If people start looking into other religions and see just how wrong he is, he stands to lose money. For television evangelists, religion is a perfect scource of income so long as people go to him. heck, there's a gigantic 'Christian World Outreach' stadium in Colorado Springs that's run by a tele evangelist. And it's privately owned, so you can see just how much these people make by being closed minded evangelists and phonies.
