What is the most powerful spaceship in all of fiction?

I say it is the Heart of Gold, from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books.

That was the book that was dedicated to my grandfather after he died. And No ever heard of the brainships? One of the writers for the book is Anne McCaffrey

The one from Battle Ship Yamato (probably yamato, don't really remember if the name of the ship was the name of the show) The one that looked like a navy battle ship with a big hole in front that was actually a cannon. It was also jam packed with star fighters. That was a pretty good one and defeated ships that supposedly outranked it lots of times.

How's about the SDF-1/Macross? Besides all the Valkyries, Destroids etc. it has a variety of railguns and missiles, a highly effective shielding system, and, of course, the crazy powerful reflex cannon.

The Outlaw Star couldn't even handle Roy Fokker in his VF-1, never mind the entire ship.

None of the stuff you mentioned would even last for a picosecond against a Culture, Xeelee, or Perry Rhodan ship.

I'm going to go with the Heart of Gold on this one. All the weapons in the world can't help ya when you get turned into a bowl of a petunais and your weapon into a Sperm whale.
