Yes, it does. It hurts a lot actually. The scar tissue has to stretch and after that happens sex is just fine, but at first it does hurt a lot.

Yes it does. in hindsight, I should have waited the full 6 weeks the doctor advised, I normally am not foolish enough to go against doctor's orders.
I had an episiotomy and sex was really awkward and uncomfortable for months afterwards. It was a hurtful pain, but hard to get into the groove for several months.

I had a 3rd/4th degree tear (through the rectal wall but not through the rectal muscle...nice I know).
And it didn't hurt ALOT but it was kind uncomfortable because I was a little scared. I still had some problems going to the bathroom let alone having sex due to my tear (Stool Softener doesn't always do as it says).
And even awhile afterwards positioning was really important. I had to keep reminding my husband not to put any pressure on my perineaum.

This is going to be different for each person and also dependent on their delivery, how their body responded to the deliver, if anything additional happened like scaring, ripping, stitches, etc. I was having sex 2 weeks after my first child was born and I had 34 stitches and It didn't hurt me nor was it uncomfortable. My second child is 10 months and 3 weeks older then his sister (my firstborn). Each person and each person's body is different.

It really just depands on you. After I had my daughter sex didn't hurt,Tho with ribed condoms it was sore but nah didn't hurt.In fact I started having orgasums every time during sex.So yeah it really depends on you,can you take pain, are you a sensitive person? Don't let people freak you out with"Oh it hurt so bad" no one is really the same.

Um... well, i waited the full six weeks becaue i had an episiotomy. The doctor's wouldn't really tell me the truth about my tearing....so i'm not sure. my mom says she was there and i seemed to be losing a lot of blood... so she thinks i did tear... but they just fixed it real quick. but, the episiotomy swelled for at least a week. i was sitting on doughnuts... so i wasn't even thinking about trying sex then... but, after my six weeks were over.... we tried, and i had no problems.... I think my post pardom depression and sleep deprevation were more nuisances than the lack of sex....
