I play the viola and absolutely love it. I was just wondering what everyone else plays.

The first instrument I learned was the flute in high school but now that thats over I'm deciding wheather or not to get my own and continue with it. Also I got a guitar for the christmas just past and have been taking lessons for a few months and love it. I waited a year before getting one because i wanted to make sure i wasn't going to be one of those stupid teenagers who get a guitar and never go anywhere with it.
Also the next instrument i'm going to learn is the drums.
Some other instruments I want to learn are piano, Violin(that probably won't happen), and Bass (won't be too hard since i'll have been playing guitar for a few years by then).
One of my friends also plays guitar and he's actually buying a violin froma friend of ours because all the teachers she talked too said they wouldn't teach her because she's too old (although she's only 17).He also wants to learn the piano, bass, and drums. So it's makes sence were good friends. And that i'm going to try and get him to be in my band when i finally put it together.

heh... only piano for me. i did try to play the guitar but my fingers hurt after one session. i really want to play the violin, but if it's the same as a guitar then nevermind.

I've been playing clarinet for a long time. Occasionally piano. And I just pretty recently starting learning how to play the guitar.

I don't play anything yet, but I plan on taking up drumming, because a friend of mine and I are planning on starting a power metal band. Some of my influences include Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater, Nicko McBrain from Iron Maiden, and Tuomo Lassilla from Stratovarius (who, sadly, is no longer with Strato crying )

Of course your fingers are going to hurt. You just have to beat with it until callus' form then you won't feel it.

and yes when you play guitar your fingers are supposed to hurt: that is the whole idea; and it really doesnt take that long to get calluses so dont let that keep you from learning

The only instrument that I ever actually played was the flute and I sucked at that. I used to be able to play a few songs on the piano, but ... it's been a while and I can't anymore.
I consider my voice my instrument as I love to sing. razz

I play piano and drums, and guitar not as well as the other two. But my major at school is vocal performance.

I played the violin. One of the worst mistakes of my life was giving it up. I also played the clarinet, I'm glad I gave that up. In future, I wanna play the drums or the electric guitar. I just love how they sound.
