Whats the difference between high and low pressure N2 tanks? I was just wondering because im looking to get a new tank(right now I have one with fixed pressure)and wondering wether I should get a high or low pressure N2 tank.

Okay the Preset Screw-In Tank output pressure is regulate to a predetermined level of pressure, This is all done by the Regulator that's on the tank.....
High Pressure Air tanks Output is: 700-950Psi
Low Pressure Air tanks Output is: 300-550Psi
Okay, Choosing a HPA is all determined by the type of maker you have...
Tippmanns, Spiders, Piranhas are High Pressure Markers....
Angels, DM6, Egos are Low Pressure Markers...
Let's say you own a High Pressure marker right now (Tippmann) and you want or are getting a Low Pressure marker in the future (DM7), You might want to get a APA Tank. The Adjustable Air tanks will cost more than a standard Screw-In Air Tank, But a Adjustable Pressure Air Tank is just that "Adjustable", You can Adjust the Output pressure anywhere from 100-1000Psi (Depending on the tank Regulator), that way whatever type of marker you have or get your tank will work with it, and saves you money in the long run...
HPA- High Pressure Air... LPA- Low Pressure Air... APA- Adjustable Pressure Air... Output- Is the Pressure that the Air is coming out of the Tank and going into the Paintball marker..

would an ion be considered low pressure?

A Ion will operate off both HP and LP tanks so there is no need to worry. If your thinking of buying a tank I would go with HP sense the majority of markers on the market will operate off of it.

ha ha. LP tanks have an output pressure of about 400psi HP tanks have an output pressure of about 800psi i use a LP on my ion and it shoots great.
