W E L C O M E To MATSURI, a Japanese festival hosted by Durem University's Japanese Student Association! biggrin We hope that this festival will increase your understanding and appreciation of the Japanese culture. Before you enter the festival, please have your tickets checked at the ticket booth. Enjoy the performances brought to you by the JSA and explore our various activity/snack booths. We hope you will enjoy your time here! If you have any questions, please seek out our festival volunteers. They will be wearing name tags and will be happy to answer your questions!
Lastly, a couple of reminders: *Please do not leave children unattended, and clean up after your pets! *Please enjoy alcoholic beverages responsibly. *Minors under the age of 21 are not allowed to consume alcohol.[ General Rules ] [.01] Respect all your fellow RPers. This goes without saying. [.02] Read each post on the front page carefully. Each booth has its own special rule, make sure you read over them and understand what is required of you. [.03] Non-owners must have an RP profile posted under "Non-Owner Character Profile" under the "Biotic Interactions" section of the guild. If you have not yet done so please complete a profile before you participate in this RP. [.04] All other Lab Rules apply & Follow the Gaia T.O.S. The lab rules can be found on the first page of the Lab thread. The Gaia TOS should be followed under all circumstances, this should also go without saying! [.05] Booth Volunteers are there as RP facilitators - Lab staff and Raeven owners at the booths are there to help facilitate the RP and enforce the rules. Please respect them as they will be working hard just so you will have a better RP experience. They also have the right to kick you out of the RP if they feel you are breaking the rules. Don't argue with their decisions, please.[ RP Rules ] [.01] Please post In Character (IC) in this thread. If you feel the need to comment OOC-ly, please put it between brackets [[ ]] or (( )) or whatever fancy brackets you like to use. [.02] IC post is enforced. Every post needs to contain IC content! You cannot just post an OOC comment in this thread without any form of IC roleplaying. [.03] No extensive l337 or n00b language allowed (unless your character speaks that way =__=;; then I have nothing to say...) Microsoft word is highly recommended for spell checking, although it's grammar check is not always agreeable. [.04] No God-modding. Even if your character has godly powers, you still can't godmod and kill all the other Raevans or owners. If you do there will be no one to RP with you anymore! And even Gods have weaknesses!! Keep in mind that basically, "assuming" another character's reaction in any way, shape or form counts as god-modding! [.05] Proper English is required. This means putting effort in what you write, getting "you're" right from "your" and "there" right from "their", spell checking, using proper grammar and whatnot. Even if you are ESL, there's something called dictionary.com and a spell and grammar checker in Microsoft word. It can be clearly seen from your RP posts whether you are putting effort in writing it or not. [.06] Your first post (unless you are one of the persons managing the booths, or you are joining the RP after the festival already started) must include having your ticket checked at the "ticket booth". It doesn't have to be anything complicated, just make sure that you mention your ticket # in the post. Then, you can either lurk around, or choose to approach one (1) of the booths. You may switch between booths at any time, but you may not be at two different booths at the same time! The laws of physics apply, people XD [.07] RPers at the Ice Cream Booth must post in GREEN. [.08] RPers at the Goldfish Booth must post in BLUE. [.09] Lurkers who are just hanging around/wandering aimlessly and not at any particular booth must post in BLACK. You are a lurker until you approach a booth. Lurkers can observe and overhear actions and conversations at either booth, but they cannot actively participate in conversations or booth activities until they actually approach.

[ Ice Cream Booth ]_________________________________________________________________ ____Booth Volunteers:____ Chloe Star & Roux Shuura & Vyn Natsuki Yanagitani ________________________. . . At the ice cream booth, three different flavors of ice cream are being served: strawberry, vanilla, and melon. Large containers of ice cream sit on a large wooden table covered with a light blue tablecloth. Behind the table stands three female volunteers with nametags pinned in front of their chests. A large assortment of condiments are on the table; fudge, caramel, chocolate and strawberry syrup, condensed milk, whipped cream, cookie bits, crumbled brownies as well as various fruits and nuts. A couple of flyers nearby advertise Cafe Jubilee, a new maid-cafe that recently opened in Durem.
. . . [ Booth Rules ] People RPing at this booth must post in green. You can see lurkers and what they are doing. You can kind of see what's going on at the Goldfish booth, but you cannot hear anything that's being said there. If you are a lurker, you must post in black. You can observe and overhear actions and conversations at this booth, but you cannot actively participate in conversations or booth activities until you actually approach this booth.

Disclamers:
Disclaimer #1: ...All graphics except the goldfish & layout map courtesy of google image search + a little photoshop editing. I do not take credit for them rofl
Disclaimer #2: ...Shuura does not have anything against serving chocolate ice cream, she merely fails at representing the color of chocolate without making the ice cream resemble poop.

Shuura awoke with a start. It was past 1 PM. Something was nagging at the back of her mind. With a jolt she suddenly realized with dread that.....s**t. I'M LATE.
"VYN! VYN VYN VYN VYN VYN! We're LATE!" She yelled at roseate-haired Frei, who was basking in a shadowy corner of Shuura's modestly-sized room. "*&^%!" Shuura cursed as she wildly tossed on clothes, accessories, and makeup. "The festival started at 10 AM and it's 1:45 PM right now!! &*^@!!!"
Vyn glared impassively at the frenzied girl rushing about. It seemed like they were going out again, a plan that displeased her. She enjoyed the dark confines of the room and didn't particular the thought of going out again, especially with the unpleasant memories of what happened the last time she ventured out still fresh in her mind.
Giving no opportunity for Vyn to complain, Shuura grabbed her chain wallet and keys and shoved Vyn outside. She slammed the door and started dashing off towards the festival, Vyn trailing unwillingly behind. ""%@#$!!"

"Do I have to pin this to me or something?" Ren asked, waving his #004 ticket around as he walked around the Fish booth to make sure absolutely everything was okay. It was still quite empty, and Renhei had been a few minutes late and rushed to the booth, his grandfather coming up behind him much more slowly.
"No. No. You've already got into the festival. You don't need it anymore." The old man said, grinning a bit.
"Oh." Ren tucked the ticket away, poking at the fish in the plastic bags some. "They look so pitiful. I hope they all go to good homes." The short boy got a small stool to stand on so he could look over the top of the booth easily. "I don't see anyone." Ren said.
"Children are so impatient." Kosu mumbled to himself with a chuckle.

Seiaeka stood at the doors to the festival, ticket in hand, she waited patiently for the doors to open.
"It seems they're running a little late." she said to herself quietly as she fidgeted with her hair. Straightening her cape she turned to look down the street only to see Shuura and Vyn approaching. She wa a little alarmed at first, not having seen a Raevan before, but she understood clearly what she was looking at.
[[Must I post all IC in black, or may I use my colour that I had in my profile?]]

Shuura dashed into the festival area, passing by several bystanders, includng a caped person who looked at them strangely as they passed, but she paid no heed. Flashing her #007 ticket before the eyes of the ticket guy at the entrance, she continued her mad dash to the ice cream booth and finally reached it, panting. "s**t, great, no one else at my booth is here yet," she muttered, not seeing Natsuki, the Cafe Jubilee shop manager, or Chloe and Roux around. However, she was secretly glad 'cuz it meant she wouldn't get into trouble for being late, either.
The bad thing was that if Natsuki wasn't around, it meant the ice cream hadn't arrived yet either. "Crap," she muttered, glancing around to see if the other booths were doing alright. Thankfully, everything else seemed to be in order. Most of the food booths were up and running, and diagonally across from her, a young boy and an elderly man was at the goldfish booth, taking care of everything.
Vyn stared curiously at the goldfish booth across from them, seemingly fascinated by the little swimming creatures.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- {{OOC: Umm.....you post in black because you're currently "lurking" and have not approached a booth yet. Are the rules confusing? Also since our characters have not yet met IC-ly, you wouldn't know their names... the volunteers are late, but the festival is already open! biggrin feel free to just check yourself in xd ; }}

Seeing other people entering, Seiaeka decided it was probably ok to enter. She walked up to the entrance and flashed her #018 ticket, and made her way inside.
Seieaka had never been to any festivals since she came over fom her continenet, and she wanted to see just how much of a difference there was.
---------------------------------------------------------------------- [[Ok, I wasn't confused by the rules, I just wanted to mae sure that I couldn't post in any other colour at all.
I know that our characters haven't met, I just used the names to describe the people approaching my character, I have a bit of a tendancy to avoid describing things since I'm so poor at it...]]

Renhei leaned far over the goldfish to see the beautiful floating woman in swirls of black and red. "Grandpa! Grandpa! Look!" Ren shouted a bit loudly, pointing at her.
His grandfather just shook his head. "It's impolite to point, but.. oooh! That, Renhei, is a raevan. That is what your bottle and vial will eventually become."
Ren's face scrunched a bit. "I'm going to have a woman with big bo--- Er. I was kind of hoping it will be a guy."
"It might be." His grandfather retorted some, tapping the boy on the back of the head for nearly being vulgar.
Renhei caught her looking that way and held up a bag with an adorable fish in it, scaring it a bit without meaning to. He waved his other hand in the air. "Come play to win a fiiiishhhh!" He urged.
