He has done some crazy things and made some insane sounds with that whammy pedal and guitar of his. Plus his numerous other custom pedals. So do you think he doesn't get enough credit for the great work he does? I just listened to Know Your Enemy so that's what inspired me.

He's one of my favorite guitarists of all time.

Some people say "Oh, both Rage and Soundgarden separate were better than Audioslave." I disagree. All three are very different and all three I love. My personal favorite of the three is Audioslave. Chris Cornell is an amazing singer, Morello is a crazy guitarist. I love it.

Is underappreciated? Perhaps. I'm not sure how popular he is. He certainly isn't what you think of if you think of like crazy shredder, but all the same I think he's very talented. A virtuoso in his own class.

Speaking of under appreciated guitarists, I think John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers) is a killer guitarist, but may not get much credit.

I own every RHCP studio album (the only other band that I can say the same of is Dream Theater) and I personally feel that Stadium Arcadium is their best album. Before Stadium, it was Blood Sugar Sex Magick, but Stadium is amazing. The entire band shines on this record.

But back to Frusciante, he has got a real unique style and plays some pretty tricky rhythms with his stuff. He's got some killer chops, too. Love his playing.

Anyone else agree?

I too have had a long appreciation for RHCP but I have yet to get my hands on Stadium Arcadium. I was really looking forward to this and Pearl Jam's new cd but funds are lacking. I did read Frusciante's article in Guitar World and it sounds like he had a lot of hendrix influence on this new record, I can't wait to hear his new stuff.

Well I think Tom Morello is an amazing guitarist, plus his custom work is great. He has made his own style and I think he's up there with Jimmy Page, among others. RHCP's guitarist is also good, I like some of their stuff but it's just not my bag. I do say that they are very good!

Morello is definitely innovative and I can definitely appreciate his contribution to the guitar community, but there's a whole pack of underappreciated guitarists out there as well.

Like Jeff Beck and Robert Fripp. sweatdrop

I think Jimmy Page is over-rated. But none-the-less good.

@maker of thread:I love Tom Morello, and I do tink he is under-appreicated. About Know Your Enemy, I can play the whole song. I love it. cool

Haha, yeah I did kinda jump quickly on the Jimmy Page train didn't I. Welp I do somewhat agree with you, but I think Jimmy Page was good and Tom Morello is excellent!

Jimmy Page got where he was from sheer hard work, imho.

Not to say Led Zeppelin didn't break new ground in the history of music. 3nodding

I don't think he is under-appreciated. He gets a good amount of attention in many guitar magazines and his albums sell pretty well. He's definitely a good player.
