If Your Child is a Gothic, Reform Through the Lord!

Listed below are some warning signs to indicate if your child may
have
gone astray from the Lord.

Gothic (or goth) is a very obscure and often dangerous culture that
young teenagers are prone to participating in. The gothic culture
leads
young, susceptible minds into an imagined world of evil, darkness,
and
violence. Please seek immediate attention through counselling,
prayer,
and parental guidance to rid your child of Satan's temptations if
five
or more of the following are applicable to your child:

-Frequently wears black clothing.

-Wears band and/or rock t-shirts.

-Wears excessive black eye makeup, lipstick or nailpolish.

-Wears any odd, silver jewelry or symbols. Some of these include:
reversed crosses, pentagrams, pentacles, ankhs or various other
Satanic
worshipping symbols.

-Shows an interest in piercings or tattoos.

-Listens to gothic or any other anti-social genres of music. (Marilyn
Manson claims to be the anti-Christ, and publicly speaks against the
Lord. Please discard any such albums IMMEDIATELY.)

-Associates with other people that dress, act or speak eccentrically.

-Shows a declining interest in wholesome activities, such as: the
Bible,
prayer, church or sports.

-Shows an increasing interest in death, vampires, magic, the occult,
witchcraft or anything else that involves Satan.

-Takes drugs.

-Drinks alcohol.

-Is suicidal and/or depressed.

-Cuts, burns or partakes in any other method of self-mutilation.
(This
is a Satanic ritual that uses pain to detract from the light of God
and
His love. Please seek immediate attention for this at your local
mental
health center.)

-Complains of boredom.

-Sleeps too excessively or too little.

-Is excessively awake during the night.

-Demands an unusual amount of privacy.

-Spends large amounts of time alone.

-Requests time alone and quietness. (This is so that your chid may
speak
to evil sprits through meditation.)

-Insists on spending time with friends while unaccompanied by an
adult.

-Disregards authority figures; teachers, priests, nuns and elders are
but a few examples of this.

-Misbehaves at school.

-Misbehaves at home.

-Eats excessively or too little.

-Eats goth-related foods. Count Dracula cereal is an example of this.

-Drinks blood or expresses an interest in drinking blood. (Vampires
believe this is how to attain Satan. This act is very dangerous and
should be stopped immediately.)

-Watches cable television or any other corrupted media sources. (Ask
your local church for proper programs that your child may watch.)

-Plays videos games that contains violence or role-playing nature.

-Uses the internet excessively and frequently makes time for the
computer.

-Makes Satanic symbols and/or violently shakes head to music.

-Dances to music in a provocative or sexual manner.

-Expresses an interest in sex.

-Masturbates

-Is homosexual and/or bisexual.

-Pursues dangerous cult religions. Such include: Satanism,
Scientology,
Philosophy, Paganism, Wicca, Hinduism and Buddhism.

-Wears pins, stickers or anything else that contains these various
phrases: "I'm so gothic, I'm dead", "woe is me", "I'm a goth".

-Claims to be a goth.

If five or more of these apply to your child, please intervene
immediately. The gothic culture is dangerous and Satan thrives within
it. If any of these problems persist, enlist your child into your
local
mental health center.

Churches are too paranoid and demand too much conformation. It's in the the opinions of more heavily relgious people, from what I've seen, that if you are not meeting almost every expectation they have you are corrupt and need saving. They dont seem to relise that people are individuals and can think for themselves.

eek That article is bogus. But it is a very funny thing to read. According to this cable television is evil, and Hindus and Buddists are Satanic cults. Most of these apply to me, save few such as drinking my own blood. It tastes to irony to me, but if I get a cut I'm not about to let it bleed on my clothes so of course I lap it up. And I'm also apparentally evil for having ADD and being clinically depressed. It's a chemical imbalance in the brain so i I don't take my medicine I become suicidal. This is what makes me annoyed at religious fanatics. Fanaticism of any type is unhealthy.

Point One: Pshaw. I was drinking my own blood for days after dental surgery involving the removal of my wisdom teeth in order to prevent me from having to wear braces for ANOTHER three years.
I am NOT putting metal back in my mouth, no matter what the Catholic Church says.

Point Two: For denouncing things as Evil, they sure don't know alot about what they are denouncing. Buddhism is NOT a religion. Modern society has made it into this meditation thing worshipping a jolly fat six-armed man (Which, incidentally, reflects the jolly fat six-armed man of Hindu worship named Brahma) but in fact it is a way of life originally founded by Buddha involving being present to everyday life, not thinking about anything unreal. The closest thing Buddhism actually has to commandments is the Eightfold Path, which actually concerns rules of common sense rather than divine orders.
There are, in more tolerant denominations of Christianity, groups of Buddhist christians, seeing as how Buddhism encourages the observance of any religious way you see fit. These people tie the basic aspects of Buddhism in with their christian beliefs.
I, fortunately, happen to be with one of the more tolerant churches, the Episcopal Church, which does not denounce the use of magic or other supernatural powers, nor does it denounce most of the items on the list. One of my best friends is in one of those Buddhist Christian groups, and from what he tells me, it looks pretty nice.

Third Point: Self-Mutilation is not nessecarily an act of satanism, it is more likely an act of mental illness. Masochism is wierd, yeah, but then again, fasting in the name of God is masochism because it is hurting your body by denying supplement.

Fourth Point: Sex is not a sin anymore than eating is. Sex is the ultimate act of love between two people, and it is quoted in Genesis, "And God said unto them, [Adam and Eve] "...Be fruitiful and multiply." How are we gonna carry out God's orders to be fruitiful and multiply if we don't make whoopie with each other?

Fifth Point: So you're not physically fit, you eat a bit too much, you have no interest of getting beat up in sports, and you laze around on the computer too much. A Goth, you are not. Rather, you are a geek. In no way does roleplaying disobey any of God's commandments, and in a roleplaying game with other greater forces than God and Satan, it is assumed that these entities are not real and therefore not worshippable.

Sixth Point: "Shows an interest in piercings or Tattoos"
Would you condemn a man with a tatoo of the Holy Cross on his arm?

Seventh Point: A Pentagram is a simple mathematical symbol based on angles of the ratio 1:1.615, which is also the universal equation for beauty. (This was actually scientifically proven by some group of fashion freaks in Hollywood, and makes sense too, if you have the time to look it up. It's explained on John Cleese's (of Monty Python fame) rather comical educational documentary on studies of the human face.)
An Ankh is a pendant or image in the shape of an egyptian heiroglyph basically meaning 'God' or 'Deity'.

Point Eight:

Is the Catholic Church so paranoid as to think that any time alone is related to the worship of evil spirits and not, perhaps, getting in touch with God and praying to Him?! Wow, such a novel idea!

Point Nine:
This is the straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak. Because of this, I shall now avoid catholicism like the plague.
Strange outfits, strange behavior, and foreign speech are all marks of individuality. There are 5,199,999,954 different people in the world, (excluding all the members of cookie-cutter pop bands such as Backwash Boys and N*Stink.) and each has led a different life. Individuality is a gift of God. It is through our individuality that we are able to have original thought. God wouldn't have created us at all had we no individuality because if we were all the same, we would have no reason to exist. This is just one step away from racism, sexism, and a multitude of other evil things.

Point Ten:
Gilder is still cooler than Sephiroth.
