I had two foam pads. Each of them had two different kinds of foam(one with hard foam and one with soft foam). Also, one foam set was larger than the other and one pad was smaller than the other. One worked better than the other so I decided to take the foam peices out of them and switch them. Now one of the pads tore up and the other one stretched. That caused the part over the censor to slide over to the middle of the pad and the left arrow won't work. neutral So now I have to replace both of them soon... Has anything like this ever happend to you?

Back when I gave a crap about non-metal pads, my Ignition kinda did that. The plastic that seperated the sensor and the foam insert on my up arrow broke, which caused the sensor to rip apart one song later.
Invest in a metal pad, if you could. Foam pads are nothing but the Konami official flat pads, only thicker. For about 1.5x the price you can get a metal pad that'll last you much longer.

Well, my pad's still sort of in one piece....
I still need to get a picture of it before you can truly understand what it's been through, but just keep in mind until then that it's no longer a Konami Flat pad....it's a blue masking tape pad. xp

I really don't think flat and foam pads are meant for heavy players. I remember I was playing DDR Konomix when during the final parts of La Senorita when my flat pad ripped right down the middle. That isn't even a difficult song...

You could always try open-pad-surgery. A knife, some cutting, some moving, some tape...voila. >>;
My ignition 2.0 lasted through everything and is still in acceptable condition today. It was bent, folded, used as a table and a bed and carried me through even the worst of ITG, I.E. pandemonium expert. If you can find one Id say its a good investment for $100

No telling if it will work or not... Thanks for the advice though. I'm better off buying a metal pad, anyway.

I finally ordered two metal pads.
I'll just have to wait and see if they're any good when they get here though.
If they suck....well, I'll just give up on eBay. sweatdrop
Well, I'll be pissed too.
But $150 isn't a huge sacrifice, especially if I can get first hand experience with this to share with the rest of the guild.

My father said if no one wanted anything for Christmas, He would get us a DDR machine. <3

Although it would be harder to take to parties than what I have now....

Now I'm wanting to go for open pad surgery... I got 6 pad boo's on Twilight Zone... I might be able to make a small cut in the pad right where the censor slid over and push it back over and sow up the cut...

The top layer of the mat won't stay flat, so buttons press themselves randomly. I know one way to fix it, but I'm not going to waste an hour fixing something that I'll have a replacement for either tomorrow or tuesday.

Just in case... wink
