(( The heck...ehh, I can always change it later. Lmfao. rofl ))
Kazi politely excused himself from his companion's presence and padded back further from Pride Rock. The sudden jump back into his past made him lose his easygoing attitude, and the lion needed to cool off somewhere alone. The young lion made his way toward the outskirts of the Pride Lands and lay down in the grass and resting his head on the ground. He let a sigh escape his lips as he attempted to clear his mind of anything and everything. It was his way of...cooling off, you could say.

Small lime colored eyes watched the male as he padded farther from the prideland territory. Although she usually remained on the edge of the territory, fear kept her from venturing too far inside. Shiri was a rogue lioness and as long as she could remember, she knew nothing of other lions. Shiri had seen them interact with one another and silently hoped she may join in their conversations and games, but usually crept farther back to ensure they did not spot her.
Watching this male so nearby, caused a faint smile to appear on the young femme's muzzle, though no words could escape her mouth. Releasing a short sigh, she retreated a few steps, hoping to venture farther from the pridelands. As she took a step or two back, her back paw snagged a long twig and caused it to snap.

Ears twitched as the snap of a twig was heard, and the green-eyed lion sat up, eyes prowling the area surrounding him carefully. He bared his teeth in a small snarl and he stood up, a low growl emitting from deep within his throat. "Who goes?" he asked gruffly. Kazi turned his head here and there, hoping to spot whoever was nearby him and responsible for disturbing his peace. He took a step or two forward, keeping his ears perked up and alert.
After a minute or so, Kazi spotted a small, golden figure among the grass and took several strides toward the figure, revealing it to be a young lioness. The lion's muscles laxed when his eyes landed on her figure, and he let out a small huff of breath. "And who might you be?" he asked, averting his eyes from her small body to the area behind her, noticing that it was open land, not the Pride Lands. Was she a rogue?

Shiri's ears perked up quickly after the snapping of the twig. Her small form had frozen and it seemed she was not able to move. Fear engulfed her and soon the sound of growling entered her ears. The growl sounded deep and from what she could tell, the sound was coming from a male much older than herself. If she was caught towards the pridelands territory by a dominant male, she felt her life could possibly be in danger! What lies could she tell to save herself?
As she remained where she was, she heard a voice call out. It seemed upset and she could not bring herself to answer. Her heart began to race from within her chest and unintentionally she began to hold her breath.
Looking about in fear for a way to escape, she heard shuffling in the grass and suddenly the form of a dark male was before her. His voice sounded again, though she could not understand what he was saying. With wide eyes, she gasped out and took off, aiming to get as far from the male as possible. Although she was running at her full speed, she could not bring herself as far from the male as she would like.

Kazi cocked a brow and strode after her, easily catching up even with his limp, mainly because he was so large compared to her. The ash-black lion jumped in front of her and kept her from moving anywhere else by holding down her tail with his paw. He lowered his head to her level and locked eyes with her, tilting his head slightly to the left when he noticed the fear that resided in her lime-green eyes.
"I'm not gonna hurt you alright? Just surprised me is all you did." Kazi let her go and shook his mane a little, getting the bits of grass off of it. "Now, back to my original question. Who are you supposed to be?" He eyed the territory behind her again. "Doesn't seem like you call the Pride Lands your home. Where're you from?" His voice was a lot gentler than it had been earlier, and he seemed to have lost his grumpy mood again.

Jini had wandered away from his densite, following his sister for a time. But Mosi was always far too lively for him and had lost him among the tall, golden grasses. Mother and father were no where in sight...though if he had found Adanna he probably would have been left behind by mistake too. Mosi took after Ada, after all, so that had to make some sense right? So he wandered about, exploring absently the pridelands he called home.
He had no idea where the borders were, so it wasn't too much of a surprise when he walked in that direction, tailing a butterfly. He wasn't paying much attention, so he didn't notice there were others near by until he heard a loud, booming sort of voice. It was that of an older male lion-older then his father, it seemed. With a sheepish, but curious flick of his easrs he loped towards Kazi and Shiri to see what was going on.

Kazi turned his head in the general direction of yet another body who was making his way toward him and Shiri. He tilted his head and leaned down to observe the actions of the young cub. "Young cubs these days..." he muttered to himself as he lifted a paw to his forhead, touching it and shaking his head with a sigh. Green eyes met with another pair of green eyes as Kazi looked down at the male cub, wondering what he was doing so far from his den. "Where's your mom and dad?" he asked.

As Shiri ran she could hear Kazi coming up from behind her and although it seemed he was gaining speed, she couldn't stop herself now. Filled with fear, her form seemed to bristle dramatically, making her form appear somewhat poofed. To the adult, it probably gave the young female an adorable appearance, but she hoped it might frighten him somewhat.
Kazi's eyes lowered to her and she paused, jumping up. Her fur remained on end and now she let out a frightened squeek. One of his paws was holding her tail down and she couldn't run or hide where she was now. The large male continued to speak, but because of her pounding heart, she couldn't make out the words clearly. When he spoke again, however, she understood. He seemed to want to know who she was, though Shiri wasn't certain of what to say. Should she be honest, or lie? Would there make any difference anyhow.
When she had found herself relax slightly, she caught site of another lion cub nearby. By the look on his face and the way he walked so calmly through the grasses, she could only assume this land was his home. Maybe this lions presense would distract Kazi long enough for Shiri to disappear.

"Ah...I dunno..." Jini said humbly as the adult questioned him. He didn't know who he was but...he knew he should respect his elders. Where he learned that he had no idea. His sister didn't do that, nor did his mother or father seem to care. It was just...something he believed he should do. Talk about being the odd ball in the family, "Dad's probably napping and Mom could be anywhere..."
He peeked around the males legs to look at the other cub. He gave a small, lopsided and uncertain smile, "Uh...hi!...Are you...um...lost...too?" He wasn't really lost, but it was the easiest way to say it, he supposed. The boy seemed rather silly, being so soft and...sorta dorky. But it was cute.

The older male let out a small chuckle and lay down beside the cubs, not really sure of what to do with them. He'd never had to bother with younger lions before. All he had encountered on his way back were either hyenas, cheetahs, full-grown lions, and several other animals. "I see," he responded to the male cub. "So what're your names?" he asked them both. Coincidentally, his paw had landed on the female cub's tail again, and he didn't seem to be too concerned with lifting his paw until he was sure that she wouldn't try to run off again. For a young lioness, she was pretty fast, and if he tried to chase her again, he was sure that he'd irritate his injuries even more.

Shiri overheard the cubs polite speech and took their conversation as an opportunity to retreat even farther into the tall grass. To her advantage, she was able to slip out her small tail and get a move on. Between steps, she'd glance back to watch the two. A saddened expression made its way onto her maw as she watched them. Shiri often longed for that sort of company, but fear usually kept her to herself. A rogue had no place within the pridelands.
Before she could get more than a foot away from them, she heard the cubs voice reach her. At first she was not sure if she should turn back or simply run away. The gentle tone he used, however, had the striped female turning to inspect him further. Like she had assumed earlier, this cub was from the pridelands, though he was not accompanied by either his mother or his father. With a tilt of her head, she looked at him. In the place of speaking, she merely shook her head left and right to indicate that she was not lost at all.
When she had paused to listen to the other cub, she noticed the larger male's paw fall back down onto her tail. With an upset expression, she sat where she was, no longer willing to run from the two. Though she was still weary in their presense, they seemed kind enough at the moment. She only hoped the adult was not holding her in place in order to call for others. She had heard awful stories of rogue lions trespassing onto prideland territory. Shiri could not help but shudder. After shuddering, she looked between the two lions, then very gently spoke, "..my name is Shiri."

Kazi shifted and smiled, tilting his head down and smiling at the young lioness. "And I'm Kazi. Don't be scared, I'm not going to do anything to do." He smiled reassuringly at the cub and let her tail go, hoping that she wouldn't run off. "Where are you from Shiri?" he asked in as calm a voice as he could muster. Kazi cleared his throat and brought a paw up to scratch his nose. "Insects..." he muttered to himself.

"Well that's good..." Jini murmured with a friendly smile. He was glad she wasn't lost...he couldn't imagine how scary that would be! He knew he wouldn't like it at all. He continued to watch her shyly until she offered her name. He seemed delighted at this, "Shiri...? That's a real pretty name..." He then realized he hadn't given his own name. He blinked looking surprised at this and then seemed to fumble in embaressesment, "O-oh! I'm sorry...erm...I...I'm Jini!"

Although she was still uncertain about how truthful this large, male lion could be, his words sounded very sincere. Hopeful eyes looked up towards Kazi as if pleading to ensure her safety. Shiri had no one to worry for her and she knew there would be no one to search for her if she went missing. It would be incredibly simple for this male to take her away and do away with her. As she still watched Kazi, she felt his grip release on her tail and quickly she pulled it close to her body. Unlike her previous actions, she remained where she was, glancing between the two now.
Shiri nodded as her elder spoke, to show that she had heard him. Her answer, however, almost seemed like a test. Would she do well to lie about where she had come from, or should she be sincere? A nervous expression appeared on her maw as she whispered, "...I'm not really from anywhere.." What she said sounded almost puzzle-like, though it was all she could come up with. Having been born a rogue and abandoned by whatever parents she had, the femme was not sure she ever had a home.
Hearing a quiet voice, she looked toward the prideland cub and smiled faintly. His compliment was something she had never recieved before and her cheeks began to flush a bright pink, "Why.. thank you.." And quickly, she added, "Jini is a nice name too.."
