Kelello blinked open her green eyes sleepily, squinting them as light filtered through. "H-h-heh?", she stuttered. The small wild dog pup felt a heaviness on her forehead that seemed to knock her off balance as she stumbled to her paws. "What's going on?", she muttered to herself, approaching a puddle of water to look at herself. Everything seemed the same, she concluded as she looked carefully at her frame in the reflection of the water. Her coat seemed scruffier, though, although still piercingly red and cream, and her eyes were heavy, but still bright as usual. Even her soft puppy expression was there. She relaxed, overlooking the gash on the side of her forehead. Slowly, she turned around and padded happily over to the entrance of a cave, peering in with a look of small puppy bliss pasted across her face. "Mommy!", she called, wagging her tail as she bounded into the cave. She stopped abruplty, gaping. "Mommy?", she asked, looking frantically around. There was no one there.

After sending her son, Mabozi off with Tibuka, Mafa had wandered off into the Graveyard. She missed patrolling it during the terribly long months she had been pregnant and had to take care of Mabozi. The alpha female had left Rasuli and Tukutu behind in her wanderings. She had been thinking about finding the two, making them catch her ups on the happenings, if any, but alas, she wasn't in the mood for it at the moment. She wasn't really in the mood for anything really.
It was then, that a strange sound caught Mafa's attention. Sounded like... 'mommy'? The female growled, she thought she had forbidden that little brat from calling her that. She also thought that Tibuka had taken the whelp in the opposite direction, what could he be doing here. Of course, Mafa had no idea that the voice did not at all belong to her son, but to a young wild dog. So she prowled on until she reached the mouth of a small cave, her tounge lashing at what she thought was her son before she even saw the source of disturbance.
"You wretched little whelp! I thought I told you to stay with Tibuka, what the hell are you doing here?"

Kelello yelped and sank to the floor. She had never been spoken to like that before. The young pup hadn't even known that a creature could speak in such a tone, for she had never been spoken to as such before. The small wild dog rolled onto her back, exposing her soft, cream belly fur, which was all she knew of submission. "Mommy, I'm sorry", she whimpered, getting slowly up and turning to face what she thought was her mother, her small, red frame low to the ground with her ears pressed back, and her eyes teary. "Wha-?", she gasped, her emerald eyes growing large. "Wh-wh-o?", she stuttered, slinking back towards the back of the cave. "What are you?", she asked with wide eyes. She had never seen a Hyena before.

Mafa's icy aqua eyes flashed with rage,
"I damn well told you to not ca--"
Mafa broke off, seeing what was really inside of the cave as she took a step in. It was not Mabozi after all, but what seemed to be a cowardly little dog. Mafa huffed, looking to the submissive creature. Her ears pressed back as the creature slunk away into the back of the cage, Mafa only followed agressively.
"A hyena, you idiot. Now where's the rest of your bunch, you wild dogs always bear an obscene amount of young..."
There was no possible way there'd be just one little wild dog running about her lands. The rest of its siblings and mother and father had to be tramping around her lands somewhere, and she wasn't all too pleased with that prospect.

Kelello had only seen her mother kill prey once. She had lowered herself to the ground and advanced towards it, and then sprang, killing it with a swift snap of her jaws over its neck. With, of course, the help of her pack. The 'hyena', or whatever it was, was advancing on her like she was prey. Kelello's blood ran cold. Could she defend herself? The small pup's fur fluffed up as big as it could, and she pulled back her lips to expose tiny canine teeth, letting out a small and pathetic whimper of a snarl. "Please don't eat me", she whimpered.
The question that the hyena had brought upon her stunned the small pup, and her eyes teared up again as she relaxed her body and let her fur lay back down. She thrust her head from side to side, looking everywhere around the cave. "I don't know", she whimpered, stepping towards the hyena, hoping for warmth and affection that would calm her nerves.

A rather wet, and muddy, hyena male, was elboying through a set of elephant ribs, he knew there were caves here, and supposed itd be a better place for him to eat a rabbit, they weren't usually full, anyways. He'd left the pup in a skull, not far from Mafa's own so hewasen't in a dangerus distance from home, not wanting to deal with her finding he'd been n an area were lions could esly slip through. But, he was cautious, and made sure he travelledwith the wind blowing at his back, if a lion got close to the sull, he'd smell it in the wind, not having much to hide a scent in the graveyard, a lion could be smelt easly.
He'd been close, when he heard the familiar voice of Mafa. What? Mabozi? But.. No way he could go there! He could still smell a faint scent of the pup in a skull, and grinned slightly at the thought that it was so easly fooled.
He peered over the bones, spotting Mafa and something quite creamy colors, moving forward, though he wasen't about to mention that that wasen't Mabozi, it'd probably be an insult to the alpha's intelligence, and he did now how to keep a good profile. And she did notice, thankfully, so he moved now so that he was merely a few leaps away, peering at the two, Mafa had already noticed it wasen't her pup now, but he coulden't help but blink in curiosity; what pup didn't recognize its mother?

Mafa stopped her advances when she had the pup backed up against a wall. There was no expression on her face, as per usual, it was simply stoney glance, one that seemed just as inviting as the bones around her. At seeing the pup snarl at her, Mafa retaliated with a snarl of her own. A much larger, louder, and more effective snarl. Though once she noticed the animal meant no harm, her lips lowered over her menacing teeth.
"Why the hell would I eat you? You're not a lion, and lions are the only things that taste good around here"
The alpha female scowled at the little dog, not exactly sure on what to do with it. She didn't forbid their kind to be on her land, but she didn't want them staying here either. As the puppy scooted closer to her, Mafa jumped back in alarm. She could barely tolerate her own son being near her, no way was she going to deal with a foreign wild dog. The pup wasn't going to get any affection in the 'yard. The scowl still on her grizzled features, Mafa started backing out of the cave and into the open air,
"Well I suggest you start knowing, figure it out. What do they call you?"
As they emerged, Mafa's head suddenly snapped to the side to see that muddy brown goon of hers,
"Tibuka? What are you doing here?"

Kelello winced when the Hyena snarled, but continued stepping towards her, her eyes full of tears. "I ... I don't know. I really don't know", she responded when the hyena spoke to her. "I know my name, ma'am", she said with a sniff, looking up at the hyena with full eyes. "My name is Kelello", she said softly, glancing at the other hyena and then back at the female. "Do you know where my mommy is?", she sobbed.

"Left Mabozi in a skull near yours, reckons he's playing hide and seek. It'll be quite a while till he realizes I left to eat my rabbit with less noise. "
He dosen't seem to acknoledge she might not like the idea, but no one liked eating with that little thing yapping, or at least he didn't. He looks at the wild dog pup now, his dead rabbit now at his paws, already growing a bit stiff thanks to his delay on eating it. His wounds, despite now cleaned after dumping into water, still stung, and a headache burrowed its way into his head, causing his desire for noises even smaller.
"You can smell him if you take in a good wiff, I made sure I'd know if anything wandered that way. "
He decides to ignore the pup for now, he dosen't think Mafa will assign him to pup sit it, its not even a hyena! But.. She might, and maybe it'd be best, he could leave her and Mabozi playing, and be allowed to rest in peace while they played whatever stupid pups played.
To him, though, the story of orphaned things wasen't shocking, and he'd learn not to feel pity, it was getting even more common now, and he woulden't be suprized if this pup was a victim.

Mafa scoffed at the pup, now known as Kelello,
"How the hell should I know? I'm definitely not going out looking for her..."
It was then that Mafa's aqua eyes started looking the pup over and noticed a deep scratch on the pup's head. Looked like she had been batted rather hard. Her eyes narrowed, another wild dog couldn't have done something like that, nor a hyena, their claws weren't sharp enough, but a lion, that was entirely possible. Mafa had decided that the pup's family had been slain by some lion, and she had gotten off scott free with only a scratch to vouch for it. This thought reminded Mafa of herself as a young pup, and it set her thinking. But for now, she had Tibuka to deal with.
"Whatever Tibuka, he's your responsibility. He gets eaten, it'll be your hide on the line. But as long as he's far away so I can't hear his babbling, it's fine..."
Her sights were once again set on the pup. It had nowhere to go now, with its family supposedly dead. Mafa sighed. There was no way she was going to accept the thing into her pack, but she also wouldn't just chase it out to be finished off by the lions. Perhaps some good would come of this situation. She had heard of savage lion pride enslaving other lions, perhaps the same idea could be applied here. With a menacing smirk, Mafa looked to the muddy male,
"Tibuka, say hello to Kelello, our brand, new slave"

Kelello cocked her head slightly.
"What is a slave?", she asked, sniffling.
The way the hyena standing before her had said the word seemed menacing, as if it were a 'bad word'. The thought sent shivers down the young pup's spine. At her naive age, what could be worse than a bad word? However, Kelello's ears perked with interest when she heard "our" Our was a good word, wasn't it? Our, meaning mommy and brothers and sisters, our meaning us, together. Our ... the hyena and she?
"Are we going to be friends?", Kelello asked, her eyes shining brightly, enveloping her sadness.

At Mafa's words, Tibuka gave a few deep wiffs of air, making sure there was nothing in the breeze; he did not fancy dying because some pup was too noisy to bear. He could fel his fur prickle a bit at the back of his neck, but it fell flat at what she said next.
Slave..?
His frown slowly turned into an amused, grim, grin. His ears flick to listen to the pup; yes, it would be better if it didn't know.. Might lead to something not fun, now woulden't it?
"Of course we'll be friends. "
This seems rushed, as if he dosen't want to open his mouth to let laughter roll out.

Mafa's dusty ears flicked back and forth in amusement. She honestly couldn't remember having this kind of fun for a looong time. Who knew enslaving innocent pups could be such a blast? Her large head turned to Tibuka, a grin on her maw.
"A slave... a slave is what you're going to be. You get to figure it out on your own"
Instead of her usual cold, montonous words, there was a tone of sarcastic sadism lingering in her voice. Mafa rose a brow at her goon and then looked back to Kelello. Perhaps, if this worked out well, they'd have to find themselves some more little 'friends'...

Kelello's expression dropped, her jaw hanging, and her red ears perked up with interest, showing so with the slight, dog-like twist of her head. "C'mon, pleeaassee?", she begged with a friendly whimper, stepping forward to n** playfully at the strange hyena's paw. Her body wiggled with excitement as she looked up at her captors with sparkling, pleading eyes. Yes, she thought, it is! It's us. I'm going to be their slave, whatever that is. How fun! The oblivious red-furred pup yipped excitedly and pranced through Mafa's feet, continuing to n** at her shoulder playfully in hopes of recieving an answer to her anticipated question.

Dammit.
He looks at the pup, obviously disgusted by its energetic ways; another Mabozi? Shaking his mane, and trying not to give Mafa the chance to assign him as her 'wacher'or 'nanny' or whatever you call who waches a slave, he turns with his rabbit, just replaced in his jaws, and takes a few steps away, looking back, no eye contact as if they could read his mind if he made it.
"I'm gonna.. Find Mabozi, eh? He eat rabbit? Not hungry for whole thing... "
Perhaps a different subject would keep the alpha from giving orders? Though, Tibuka dosen't attempt to hide that he does not desire to be in charge of another bouncing bundle, and it was probably easier to deal with the 'prince'than the 'slave'.
