And I like black and red.
And I wear skulls.

I think it's very typical for parents to be judgmental based on their child(ren)'s dress and/or outside appearance. sweatdrop I'm sure she'll come around, but I don't think she's insane for it. I think it's a very parental thing. I mean, my mom accuses me of being influenced by friends in fashion because I like to wear baggy T-shirts and a good majority of my friends are tomboys. So, in other words, she thinks I'm dressing like a guy. <.<;; But I dress girly too so I think that throws her off a bit... sweatdrop
In a nutshell, I think your mom will get over it as soon as she realizes that your fashion is just you and that it doesn't reflect upon any of your beliefs.

I don't think that she's insane for not thinking that being "different" is acceptable.
I am fortunate to have two parents that are fine with the way I dress.
(well, my father just puts up with it. He understands that I want to be different, so yeah. He's fine with it)
She's probably used to thinking that all children are normal, because of her time period in life when she was a teenager.
She will hopefully get used to you if she understands that "this is who you are", etc.
I wish I could say something better, but I'm sick, so I'm not thinking too well.

All parents are just being over-protective and loopy lately--personally I blame Dateline and their internet predator updates! OKAY! WE GET IT! THEIR OUT THERE! Now will you stop showing them so my parents will take the padlock off the computer and let me check my e-mail?!
I would call the action insane, but I wouldn't call the person insane. Red and black are cool colors...(and now I have Les Mis in my head gorramn it! )
