What do you suppose was the relationship between Ted and Aldo?
Ted was a p***k, Aldo just wanted to be friends!
They were probably good friends before Aldo died.
  "Butt Buddies."
I haven't played Suikoden IV. For shame!

Note: This post may have some tiny spoilers. Yay.

Is it just me, or does anyone else notice some pretty obvious connections between the stars? Now, I'm not just talking like: "Hey! Look! Georg's back in SV!"

I'm talking like... the Chiki and Chimou Stars!

Chiki - Grenseal - Camus - Percival - Sigurd - Rahal

Chimou - Alen - Miklotov - Borus - Hervey - Roog

Yeah, they're all best friends, have p***s', AND work together in some way or another.

Or that Chikou (Chandler; Gordon; Gordon; Chadli; Sairoh) stars are all merchants? Or that Chizen (Crowley; Mazus; Sarah; Warlock; Levi) stars are all powerful mages?

Or how about some less obvious ones?

For instance, Kyle and Viktor share the same (Tenko) star. When Kyle is in disguise in SV, he's wearing an Almost!Viktor outfit? Which is fun, how Konami made that little reference.

Or, (my favorite) the Tenei Star/Soul Eater connection. Gremio and Aldo, anyone? Now watch:

--Gremio -- Tenei -- Aldo
----|---------------------.|
----|---------------------.|
----|---------------------.|
--Tir ---- Friends ---- Ted
(Soul E.) --------- (Soul E.)
----|---------------------.|
----|---------------------.|
----|---------------------.|
Gremio dies, -----Aldo killed
Soul E. gets -----by Soul E.
new lvl spell

See, Gremio and Aldo, although they never met, are both connected through the Soul Eater. And of course, Gremio knew Ted when he had the Soul Eater... and you know the rest. So yay!

Anyone else have some totally awesome SoD connections? And please, for the love of God, do not say: "Well, Viki and Jeane have the same star straight across the board!" WE KNOW.

Alright, please give me some time to find a connection. I'm replaying 1 and 3, so I'll find something.

Does anybody know if those people with connections also had similar people in the outlaws of the marsh novel? Those two stars you mentioned probably relate to two of the stars in the novel. I'm just guessing though. xp

If I read it, I'd be able to tell you. There might be some similarities, but probably not too much, since Suikoden is only loosely based on it.

I kinda knew about the Chiki and Chimou stars. The Tenkai stars are, of course the heros of the Suikodens.

And then the Tenki stars are the strategists. Chii and Chiei stars are the Maximilliam Knights.

Chisa stars are always the ones in changing of changing sounds (except for Reed and Liloon. Nataly should have been the Chisa star...)

Chirei stars the doctors.

Chikou and Chikyou stars are all ninjas! (Except Moose) xD I'm not sure about Shigure though, but his weapon is a Ninja-to.

Chisou stars are the inventors who give the hero an elevator.

Chisui stars are librarians. (Except for Phil)

Chichin stars are all noble narrcists.

Chikei strs are girls who love gadgets. xD

Chifuku stars are the strategists' assistant.

And I believe Chimou stars are supposed to be the mapmakes but only Rody isn't one.

That's all I have so far. I think I might look over the list of Stars of Destiny one more time.

align=center]I believe that Gary and Ema are the ancestors to the beginning line of Maximilliam Knights. You can tell by Gary's mustache. It matches the same one as Maximilliam has in the first and second game.

A good theory... especially if you observe Gary's skill in Rhapsodia. But terribly unsupported. Work with it a little and you could have a decent argument. Other than that, I say unlikely.

True. I'll see what else I can dish out and I'll back to you about that. I really did hear speculation before that Gary and Ema were the ancestors of the Maximiliam knights, but that was a long time ago. xP

Well, Gary's necklace's pendant does bear the symbol of the Maximillian Knights, plus, he, Max, and Fred all share the same Star.

Enough for more than speclation, IMO.

Okay... I have a guide for Star correlation through the first three games. Should I post it a la copy/paste? It's pretty big. . . ^_^

And, as for Outlaws of the Marsh, this is the order in which the stars are listed on wikipedia.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The 36 Heavenly Spirits or 36 Heavenly Chieftains

Song Jiang | Lu Junyi | Wu Yong | Gongsun Sheng | Guan Sheng | Lin Chong | Qin Ming | Huyuan Zhuo | Hua Rong | Chai Jin | Li Ying | Zhu Tong | Lu Zhishen | Wu Song | Dong Ping | Zhang Qing | Yang Zhi | Xu Ning | Suo Chao | Dai Zhong | Liu Tang | Li Kui | Shi Jin | Mu Hong | Lei Heng | Li Jun | Ruan Xiaoer | Zhang Heng | Ruan Xiaowu | Zhang Shun | Ruan Xiaoqi | Yang Xiong | Shi Xiu | Xie Zhen | Xie Bao | Yan Qing

The 72 Earthly Warriors or 72 Earthly Fiends

Zhu Wu | Huang Xin | Sun Li | Xuan Zan | Hao Si-wen | Han Tao | Peng Qi | Shan Ting-gui | Wei Ding-guo | Xiao Rang | Pei Xuan | Ou Peng | Deng Fei | Yan Shun | Yang Lin | Ling Zhen | Jiang Jing | Lu Fang | Guo Sheng | An Dao-quan | Huangfu Duan | Wang Ying | Hu San Niang | Bao Xu | Pan Rui | Kong Ming | Kong Liang | Xiang Chong | Li Gun | Jin Da-jian | Ma Lin | Tong Wei | Tong Meng | Meng Kang | Hou Jian | Chen Da | Yang Chun | Zheng Tian-shou | Tao Zong-wang | Song Qing | Yue He | Gong Wang | Ding De-sun | Mu Chun | Cao Zheng | Song Wan | Du Qian | Xue Yong | Shi En | Li Zhong | Zhou Tong | Tang Long | Du Xing | Zou Yuan | Zou Run | Zhu Gui | Zhu Fu | Cai Fu | Cai Qing | Li Li | Li Yun | Jiao Ting | Shi Yong | Sun Xin | Gu Dasao | Zhang Qing | Sun Er Niang | Wang Ding-liu | Yu Bao-si | Bai Sheng | Shi Qian | Duan Jing-zhu

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The 36 Heavenly Spirits, being the more important, or the Ten-- stars, and the 72 Earthly Fiends being the less important, or the Chi-- stars. ^_^

For instance, the 1st star is the Tenkai star. This is always the hero's star. Song Jiang is listed first, therefore, would correlate to the Tenkai star. And he is the book's hero. So, that much correlates correctly. ^_^

As for the rest... I'm not sure. ^_^ I still need to find my copy *dig dig* and read it all of the way through without being sidetracked! ^_^

Also, from doing some research, Lu Junyi, who would correlate to the Tengou star (skilled general or leader of some sort), was the 2nd in command, and Song Jiang (hero) had to devise a plan to get him to join. This also matches. In the 1st game, Lepant was 2nd in command, and you had to do the whole thing with stealing his sword to get him to talk to you, and he shared this star.

Wu Yong held the Tenki star. In Outlaws of the Marsh, he was THE strategist. Another match! ^_^

Gongsun Sheng would have the Tenkan star (Luc's star), and he was known to be able to perform magic and could summon the wind. Match!

Skipping a bit, the Tenyu star (Kasim, Hauser, and Yuber) would be where Lin Chong would be placed. And Lin Chong was the most powerful warrior of the Linagshan Bandits (the good guys), and the trainer of the 800,000-strong Imperial Guards. All three of those Suiko-characters had butt-loads of soldiers they had to train, didn't they? And they were decent fighters (some better than others)... maybe not 'most powerful warrior' material, but close enough... ^_^

Skipping a bit more, the Tenko star (Viktor) would belong to Lu Zhishen, or Sagacious Lu. "He is the lead in the first major story cycle of the novel, in which he comes to epitomise loyalty, strength, justice but also rash action." (a la Wikipedia) My my, that does sound a bit like dear old Viktor, eh? ^_^

A couple more ahead, the Tenan star (Flik) would belong to Yang Zhi, who was nicknamed "Blue-Faced Beast," because of a birthmark covering one side of his face. And he was one of the 8 vanguard generals of the Liangshan Cavalry. Well, that's about it... there's some blue in there, and he had something to do with cavalry... It's not quite "Blue Lightning," but nobody's perfect. ^_^

Next, jumping ahead a bit, we have the Tenhei star and Tenson star, #s 28 & 30 (Tai Ho and Yam Koo), Zhang Heng and Zhang Shun. Zhang Heng was Zhang Shun's older brother, and a very skilled boatman. They did some illegal trading on a river for a living, and Zhang Heng gambled a lot. Close, eh? ^_^

Jumping way ahead to the Chirei star (primary healer), An Dao-quan. According to Wikipedia, he "inherited medical skills passed down by his ancestors. He became a reowned physician and could treat all kinds of illnesses, thus he was nicknamed 'Holy Physician.'" I think that's a match! ^_^

I've checked on a few others, and not all of them match up, but hey, some of the important ones do, and others have slight similarities. ^_^ Neat, huh?
