Matching two characters in a cartoon series kills it. Why are you doing Aang/Katara or Zuko/Katara?
That's the best way to make the cartoon series die, and a lot less enjoyable for some people. Every single time there's some kind of cartoon show, they match people (even making them gay).
I say, don't match anyone unless you know they're matched.
And so far, there's no SOLID PROOF that anyone's having a relationship. Only hints. And it could end tragically, so watch yourselves, my friends.

I agree. I don't have any matches in this show cause some I highly doubt will even happen(gay relationships)and you shouldn't make matches untill you know they have happened or they are going to happen which there arn't any right now.

Yes, some people go overboard, and turn into rabid little fangirls, and no one likes that (and to be quite honest, that's why I avoid fansites). But on the other hand, for some people, myself included, it's fun to think of all the different relationships, no matter how unlikely they may be. Or how tragic the story may turn out to be.
In my opinion, pairings are fun, especially when people can show how they might be possible. It exercises their imagination and fills what may otherwise be long and boring hours of nothingness. To be quite honest, if you don't like it, don't look into it.

I can see your point but also its just kinda fun biggrin the point of any tv show is to get money. How you get money is by making the show fun like Avatar and entertaning also those dimond selling channles and borning things ilke the Math show. Anyway part of what is so fun about a show is getting in to it and making perdictions and feeling strongly about the ppl in the show but I am positve no one will truly kill some one or beet up the makers of the show . its enjoyable thats why ppl wach tv and get reealy reealy reealy reealy reealy reealy reealy reealy reealy reealy in to it with the cuples and other issues i hope that made sense.

I actually kinda see your point. Some fans might be driven away by the crazy fandoms of a show.
What goes wrong is when there are shipping wars. Now, they're not really necessary, but a bunch of shippers decide to act like little children and start it. Especially when viruses are e-mailed to a shipper of another ship, sites flaming ships and when one group of shippers go, "W3 r lyke sooooo rite!!!!!!!!! 4 leik evaaaaaaa!!!!!".
And maybe because of that the creators might not even have the show lean unto one pairing. But then again, the show's on Nickelodeon.

As said, there's nothing wrong with pairings for the fun of it so long as you don't take it overboard. But most people are incapable of NOT taking it overboard. So better to just do away with the whole bit. It gets really annoying that two characters can't have a close friendship (boy and girl expecially, but there's also the yaoi people) without people jumping all over it saying OMG they're liek in LUV!!!111!! stressed

So let me get this strait... We shouldn't match the couples in less they are 100% cannon? I like Zutara and try not to go overboard, and the point of shipping is to show you like a couple because you see how it could work. Not because the show jams them together, but because you think its good.

It's frightening how very, very true that comic is. Although they foget the casual friend- 'Oh hey, anime/manga! Fun, cool. Okay, now to get back to the rest of my life. I believe that may be the missing seventh step that I'm trying to work my way toward Although lookinh back at my post I was a little harsher than I should have been. I just have a special little dislike in my heart for Zutara considering they have maybe six lines of interaction in the whole show, and that's made me biased against all Avatar pairings. *sigh*
