UPDATE: There is now a tutorial for how to make Sai's white outer clothing on Page 8 for anyone interested, upon Cipher's request. I've also changed the title and first post a bit so it doesn't just focus on me anymore. ^_^;; Thanks to everyone that voted! I know I didn't have time to make all three for CCC4... but! My sis loved going around as Sai so the costumes will be worn again in the future! So I do still plan on making the other 2 outfits for use in the semi-near future.  WINNER! This one made it because for one, I really like the outfit, and for two, he wears it a lot in the anime. For some reason, my sis and I always remembered the PROJECT pants. sweatdrop It would mostly be fairly easy, though the black sleeveless hoody part may be annoying. (Comes with bag and the 1st pair of shoes) Secondary reference WINNER! This one is on the list because it screams "Hikaru no Go", even though he never wears it in the anime. sweatdrop It's black and gold AND has a 5 and Go stones, very recognizable. It'd also be on the easy side. Biggest downfall: someone from the guild is already making one! Don't wanna be a copy cat, but I had to add it since it was not only my first idea, but also just fits so well. (Comes with second pair of shoes)  WINNER! I chose this one simply because for some reason it's my favorite outfit of Hikaru's. But he only wears it for one chapter and not at all in the anime, so there aren't any color pictures of it. I would make the shirt gold and black, with the stripes on the sleeves white, black pants with one gold and one white stripe down each leg, and black shoes with either white or gold soles (haven't decided yet sweatdrop ). Some details on accessories:  This bag goes with a couple of the outfits. If one of those outfits is chosen, I'll be making it as well since I found out from my last cosplay that I like being about to carry around a bag as part of my cosplay.  These are the different shoes he wears. Yes, I will be making the shoes as well. And certain shoes go with certain outfits. The black and white ones in the back are the 1st pair while the ones in the middle are the second. The ones closest aren't worn during this part of the series.

Haha, I wouldn't have killed you... but I really don't want to wear the last one, lol. Thanks for voting! biggrin Any specific reasons why you voted for the first one? Ahh, and the swords probably won't happen, but I am curious to see what others think. sweatdrop They'd be made out of cardboard. As a reference, I made 3 swords for the last con (for someoe else's costume). So they'd look kinda like this, only designed like the ones Hikaru and Sai use in the anime: SheathedUnsheathed

And yeah, as long as I have a bag to hold it in, we do plan on bringing a Go board and stones. xd There was luckily a cheap wooden folding one that came with the stones and dishes to hold them for about $14 at a store back home, and since I'm heading there this weekend, I thought I'd see if I could pick it up. wink If I end up going with an outfit that doesn't go with the bag, well, Hikaru has others bags so I'd try one of those, but they'd be a lot harder. sweatdrop

And for the sleeveless hoodie thing, you could cut off sleeves on a regular hoodie and then cover the cut edges with a white strip of fabric sweatdrop
I dunno, I'm not good with costuming, or anything involving sewing for that matter.

DMSlayer - Yeah, I had thought of that, and I may end up doing it (it would be the easiest for sure, lol), so it is a good idea, even if you don't know anything about sewing, lol. I'm just not sure how to make the collar... I'll think about it later, if it comes to that. wink (I am such a procrastinater.)
But speaking of details, I don't know if anyone would be able to answer this or not, but I might as well ask. For Sai's outfit, are the sleeves even attached to the top? I saw a few pics where it looked like it was and a few where it looked like it wasn't. sweatdrop

here is a doll of Sai some one made.. I am guessing that the outer white thing is like a cote, with the buttom of the sleeves linked . but the top side has a opening around the shoulder.. Hi Alex... and here is a pic of the white cloth.. O.o it look different form the manga..  for the show "源氏物語" [千年の恋 ひかる源氏物語] which sould have happened in Sai's time.. ._. I guess.. redface ^^;; I will looking for others as well.. ^^ EDIT: O.O I just thought of something.. that show is also an Manga..... so.. um.. you guys might got confused with the person form that show.. gonk .. EDIT2: I just found out that Hikaru is the name of one of the prince in that show.. ._. and that "Hikaru" was used at that time in Japan for any handsum young man.. sweatdrop xd
