Once ago, a friend of mine came to me and said;"On The Tonight Show, a man died. He went to: THE OTHER SIDE. He was there in absolute BLACKNESS. There is no Heaven or Hell." Not knowing the question myself, I went to my ministry leader. He gave me a book to find this out for myself. It was a documentary book about a heart doctor. He made people have heart attacks and he would record what happened to them. And thus, about 99% of people would come back scared out of their wits. Because they have seen a glimpse of Hell. But, 1% of people would see nothing and come back claiming that there was nothing. So, you have to know God really well if you don't want that to happen to you.

Another story: A man was out in his farm doing the ploughing with his machine, but he fell off it and smacked onto the ground. He was fortunately brought back to life. When he came back he shouted out, "DON'T SEND ME BACK! PLEASE!"

If any non-religious people hear this, you must know God and have faith in Jesus to survive.

wow... that's so... I dunno. I believe that they wouldn't want to be sent back. but it's so weird!

Yeah, that's what I thought at first. But, this shows to go that that is all real. And if people are so scared of seeing a part of Hell, wait until they see the full thing!

oh for god sakes.........

Hell ISNT OPEN right now.

The first to enter hell will be Satan and the anti christ. until then Hell is sealed until the rapture.

"but Saint Xenos, if people are not in hell right now then where do they go smart one?"

They go to Hades, a place very briefly mentioned, but only one key chapter describing it what its like to be in it. a famous story of the rich man and the poor man Lazarus.

Luke 16: 22-24

22: Now It came about that the poor man died and he was carried away by the angels to Abraham's bosom; and the rich man also died and was buried.
23: And in HADES he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far away, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24: And he cried out and said, "Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue; for I am in agony in this FLAME."

extrememly brief but direct in description. from the looks of it, it doesnt sound any better then Hell (the lake of fire). It seems in hades you feel just as much agony and heat from a flame. but that is all that is given to us from the bible.

"But SaintXenos, what if Hades is just the same meaning as Hell?" It is not. and as described in revelations:

Revelations 20: 12-15

12: And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds.
13: And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and DEATH and HADES gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds.
14: And DEATH and HEADES were THROWN into the "lake of fire". This is the SECOND death, the lake of fire.
15: And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

There so WHATEVER those people saw, considering it to be dark and frightening, they most likely saw Hades. And if that's the case, I don't blame them for being completely scared. they are most likely one of gods "non chosen" and will directly go to hades if they die.

Now that is WRONG

I looked this up myself and the bible passage LUKE 16: 22-24 sates:

22, The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried.23, In HELL where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away; with Lazarus by his side. 24, So he called to him, 'Father Arbraham, has mercy on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this FIRE.'

Also, that IS the right bible verse in Revelations.

BUT! The word: Hades originated to the Greek Language, passing on down to Hebrew. So, when God talks about Hades, he means Hell.

No, what i posted was not false. what version of the bible do you use? the SLIGHTEST difference in a word can change the entire meaning.

have you also COMPLETELY disregarded everything else i have posted?

again i post from Revelations:

13: And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and DEATH and HADES gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds.
14: And DEATH and HEADES were THROWN into the "lake of fire". This is the SECOND death, the lake of fire.
15: And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

why would it say "and hell was thrown into hell"....it doesnt make any sense.

Yes, Hades is often translated as "hell", used 11 times in the New Testament....HOWEVER....The Septuagint used hades to translate the Hebrew "s'ol" (the place of the dead) on 61 occassions. Here hades refers to the abode of the unsaved dead prior to the great white trhone judgement. "Abraham's side" appraently refers to a place of paradise for Old Testament believers at the time of death.

Neither "sheol" nor "hades" refer to the eternal state and should NOT be considered equivalent to the English word "hell" which propersly is the place of eternal punishment. The lake of fire referred to as "the fiery lake of burning sulfur" is the same as gehenna (Matt 5:22, 29-30; 10:28; 18:9; 23:15, 33; Mark 9:43, 45, 47; Luke 12:5; James 3:6) and is translated "hell" in the NIV and KJV with the word "fire" added in several passeges. Actually gehenna was originally a name for the place of burning refuse, located in the Valley of Hinnom south of Jerusalem....

i can go further if you want....whatever version you use, its not correctly translated.

I will have to admit that you put up a tough front, but I will see this through you.

I agree that is the right translaion of Revelations, but Hell won't be thrown into Hell. The full translation of Hades is a deep dark place. Hell is not just the lake of fire. "The lake of fire" is the lake of fire, but not hell. Also, HADES is another translation for SATAN. So, you also sead that they go to Hades. Now, as you said:

SaintXenos
How can hell be thrown into hell?

Yet you say:

SaintXenos
They go to Hades

You are disproving yourself. But yet, Hades is also Satan. Satan was originally the Angel Lucifer and was thrown down to Satan's prison. Hades is in HELL. Satan has been differenciated to different names. Yet, Revelations 20: 10 states:

Revelations 20 : 10

And the devil, who decieved them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the BEAST and the FALSE PROPHET had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

First off, again you have elluded my question "what bible do you read?" And once again I will instruct you on what is "correctly translated"

Quote by You: Hades is also Satan. Satan was originally the Angel Lucifer and was thrown down to Satan's prison. Hades is in HELL. Satan has been differenciated to different names.

this is absolutely no offense but wherere the heck did you get those ideas? Hades does NOT and i repeat DOES NOT "mean" Satan.

So...I again will instruct.

HADES: the place or state of the dead, as contrasted with the final punishment of the wicked. In the NT Greek, the word occurs ten times as I've already said and is uniformly rendered "hell" in KJV (a very false and MISINTERPRETED bible). In the TR from which KJV was translated, the word occurs also in 1Cor 15:55 and is rendered "grave," but in the better texts the Greek has "thanate" and ASV "death," which is correct. The NT word is taken over from the Greek mythology, where Hades was the god of the lower regions. Although the word was taken from heathen myths, the concept is from the OT word "Sheol". Sheol occurs 65 times in the Hebrew OT and is rendered in KJV as "hell" 31 times (which is completely wrong in the KJV), "the grave" 31 times, and "the pit" three times; but in ASV it is uniformly transliterated Sheol, even as Hades in the ASV is a transliteration rather than an attempt to translate the Greek.

Hades is NOT IN Hell, for it will be THROWN into Hell during the time which is stated in Revelations, just as the depths of the sea will give up its dead, and death itself will give up its dead.

For the most part, the NT does not give very definite light on Hades. In Matthew 11:23 (cross reference. Luke 10:15) our Lord says that Capernaum will go down into Hades. The preposition "down" points to the OT teaching that Sheol is inside the "earth" (Amos 9:2; Ps. 139:8, etc).
In Matthew 16:18, "the gates of hell" seem to be a reference to Satan's headquarters, as the great enemy of the Christian Church.

Shall I continue?

If you're refering to me you've got some seriously mixed up thoughts. I am not AT ALL Catholic. If you must "label" me with something then you can call me a monergist. Dont know what that is? go to monergism.com and read for yourself.

I have given you direct translations and word study of what background history of the word Hades and its connection with Hell. I don't see how I can give you anymore then the surface truths of what has been studied for years.

NOW. I asked this to my pastor, and he said the same thing. Hades is a catholic term also indicating Hell. Hell, is not just the lake of fire. It is a deep dark place where the lake of fire is. It's cavernous and Satan is stuck in it. Hell is Satan's prison. Yet, Hades is still the catholic term for a middle point between the Human world and Hell. It is mainly referred as the Underworld. As the underworld is Greek MYTHOLOGY, the Hades is translated into The Lord of The Underworld, also HELL.

That is pretty strong, thats probably the most sound proof we have for indicating an afterlife besides the Bible.
