Every series like this must have some lessons hidden behind the humor.
For example, the episode "Better Than Life" shows how much your own psyche can either elevate you or bring you down. The character of Ace shows how your past can affect your present, and how you can overcome it once you recognize it.
What lessons do you see in RD?

I learned that painting pictures of people going to the toilet is only fun when they can't hit you. (also if it's Rimmer) I also learned that, whatever you do, don't go see 'Run For Your Wife.'

I learnt not to get stuck in deep space with a space bum, a weird freaky person, someone obbssessed with their appearence, a mechanoid programmed to serve and a computer who's gone computer senile lol

i learned how to grow mold a foot high. i named it Albert.
no, really, one of the most important lessons learned from watching Red Dwarf is that you must always repair the drive plate properly. 3nodding

I learned how to make the best sandwich in the world - Triple Fried Egg Chilli Chutney! biggrin And I also learned that eating it feels like having a baby. stare
Slightly more "serious" life lessons learned - in 'D.N.A', I learned that you should accept what you are and be happy with it, and not wish that you were something else. I'm sure there are others, but I can't think of them at this precise moment in time... sweatdrop
