Well, I've only recently recieved a testimony of my own, and it mostly started with this scripture. I found it in the True to the Faith book:

But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than adesire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words.

eek That was the very first thing I EVER read in the BoM. Right then, I knew I wouldn't be catholic much longer if I was reading stuff like that int eh BoM. 3nodding heart biggrin

I love that verse. I loved it so much I even tried to convert one of my non-member friends with it's help....

Unfortunately, I took it too quick and it didn't work,

but he's been a work in progress for years. Maybe someday I'll get him wink

my testimony really took off when I knew for a fact that Heavenly Father loves me. As soon as I knew this, the rest came pretty easy.

Me too. I mean, I always knew the church was true, and everything, but when i was 18, something happened, and I went into the woods to pray and repent. The sun was shining through the leaves, and it was so beautiful. I knelt beneath a tree and prayed. I was filled with the MOST wonderful, beautiful, and GLORIOUS feeling of love and of being forgiven. I will remember that all my life, and that was when I KNEW, truly KNEW. ever since then, my faith has grown, and everything has been an affirmation of my knowledge of the truth.
